I was a goth kid who liked reading about serial killers and Tim Burton movies too. Hell, I still am. But you know what I wasn't? A cold blooded murderer. I couldn't fathom doing that to anyone, let alone my family.

I can understand children receiving reduced sentences, but this girl was evil. It was HER idea and she never attempted to stop it. What really show how callous she was, is that she could comfort her eight year old brother, then kill him and laugh about it later. Sick!

So many questions for the parents. Like, why would you not turn in the GROWN ADULT MAN raping your 12 year old CHILD?? Seems like that's a great thing to bring to the attention of the police. Why would you not get your child mental health care, when she obviously is struggling with some mental health issues? If you weren't able to control her, why not have her committed to a facility where she could be treated? Why wasn't something, anything done? Why wasn't any serious effort made to correct this horrible situation? Imagine just allowing your child to continue a sexual relationship (or ANY relationship with an adult) predator and being like, "Oh well. We've done all we can do. She's out of our control." I don't know all the facts of what they did or didn't do but it sounds like they didn't do too much. Not trying to victim blame, because they didn't deserve to be killed. It just seems like they allowed an awful lot to continue with no consequences.

If I remember correctly: They were allowed to communicate through letters during the beginning so the letters could be used as evidence. They were weird letters but I think it was a smart move by the police. Just knowing the way they wrote, shows you how messed up they were. If you try to read some, you will feel like you had a stroke.

Her ten-year prison sentence was supposed to be followed by four years in a mental hospital (which could have included various privileges introduced step by step), followed by four more years under court supervised release. This sentence would have taken her to age 30. Why wasn't that done?

This case is so disturbing in so many ways, a 12 y old in gaging in a sexual relationship with an adult, planning the brutal murder of her parents and little brother who she stabed herself. It's so horrible to even consider. Showing no remorse it seems there really no hope for her.
