I'm not doubting that your comment was sincere, but to say you have a "cultivated ear" or superior one just because you know some music theory or maybe some philosophy around it is certainly demeaning. Music is about feeling; it doesn't hold up to any sort of test that you're implying. Accusing me of being insecure, because I thought you were deeming others is certainly not a conscious message. I know the information you're learning can be overwhelming at first but don't use it to elevate yourself above others; we're all one.
