For me as a Celtics fan, I’d rather crown Tatum as the best player on the best team rather than be crowned MVP, to be honest. I think a large amount of Tatum’s success this season has to do with the contributions of his teammates; he’s seeing and playing the game on a much more cerebral and calculated level of focus. He’s doing everything the right way, averaging 27ppg while ranking 20th in usage percentage, which is incredibly efficient. As much as I would love to see him win it, I just think that the other 4 ahead of him have better cases to win it instead.

Idk man I’m tired of hearing the Celtics have a better team. Damian lillard literally has shown us this year that just because you give someone talent doesn’t mean they will win. Luka style isn’t meant for having other stars around him. It isn’t a coincidence that jaylen Brunson played well when Luka was hurt and when he got his own team he became a star. Kristaps Porzingus literally at every stop in his career besides Dallas played well. Luka's most underrated aspect is his defense. Its not top tier, but it can get the job done. We have seen Luka step on Defense whenever his teammates step up offensively. That's why you see Luka carry the offense but become a liability on defense.

Wemby is likely easier to build around. We've already seen guys like Rudy Gobert make a team elite defensively just on the strength of his rim protection. Offensively, he can play as a big into most matchups and also play next to bigs as a wing. Wemby, lowkey, is a taller, more versatile Anthony Davis if he continues learning the game.
Luka has no defense, and only has 1 western conference appearances. To answer Omar's MVP question, a guy in Tatum's situation shouldn't win. Production should be the major factor of MVP. Impact on winning should play a role to prevent running up stats in a losing effort. I personally would put cut off at 6th seed with is outside of play-in tourney range. From there, winning would only matter if the production and responsibility are both relatively even among contenders.
