We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning ru-vid.comUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

I dropped my C4 and thought it sounded stronger towards the right. I was thinking that there were 2 front drivers. Thanks for sharing. Now I know I didn't damage it since there is only 1 front driver on the front. And yes, the bass sounds better to me in the C4 vs the C3.
Small portable speaker should build like this, because if the drivers are too close then the stereo sound doesn't make any sense at all, I think this is better for the size and the sound performance, by considering the price I can't talk but this is a good decision.....and also when we listening, either most of the times we are not placing the speaker in front of the face.hope u guys understand the change they made..............

I still have my charge 3 and use it daily and i have had it for almost two years now and I can say it was great value. Plus i got a 4 year protection plan on amazon for 7$. This year for Christmas im getting a extreme 2 to be a big brother to the charge to i can get stereo sound¡
I see a lot of comments of people complaining about the lack of stereo. I feel like mono is not a big deal in this situation as there is no audible stereo separation of your left and right speaker are located 50mm apart. I'm quite sure going mono has its pro's and cons soundwise, compared to two smaller woofers

As much as I too want to believe it is fake, the woofer looks to be of a very high quality for it to be fake. Bass performance and loudness should be improved with this design though, and stereo separation was never perceivable on speakers this small either.
Are the two drivers on the sides passive radiators? Is 1 a passive radiator? I’ve been playing with passive radiators for car audio. I have a 10” with a PR in a .5 cubic foot box I built and it sounds awesome with 240 watts. Probably as good as my single ported 12 with 500 watts.
Can someone clarify for me. The Charge 4 consists of the one midrange/tweeter on the front, but also has an internal woofer? With the outer parts on the ends being passive radiators I assume?
Take this speaker apart so we can see why the driver is off center. I'll bet the battery is taking up some space and the single 30 watt driver might extend too far into the housing to allow for the battery to fit behind it.
@@platniumgod1568 I don't think they fixed the problem... in this video is obvious that the charge 3 has more treble... though I still find the sound of 4 more interesting.
@@platniumgod1568 To fix the Charge 3's treble is as simple as using an EQ app on your phone. Or if you run a Windows PC with Bluetooth, then you get this app.. sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/ You'll be surprised by the difference.
Dovendo essere sincero non mi fa impazzire, però penso che per fare una scelta del genere: di utilizzare un solo driver, e di piazzarlo anche sul lato (non al centro) avranno avuto i loro buoni motivi. Ho già letto sotto ad un commento che il volume è più alto, ma quale si sente meglio tra questo e il vecchio modello? Hanno risolto il vecchio problema del Charge 3 di non avere ottimi alti?
Ho sentito dire che il problema degli alti non è stato risolto... In compenso hanno aumentato il volume massimo e i bassi sono ottimi. Rispetto alla charge 3 anche io sono molto curioso di sapere la differenza.
strange that with one speaker most people say its has better clarity, i wonder if stereo speakers was actually overkill considering how close together they were

Please let's understand at once, it´s not about hearing stereo separation, it´s about hearing the complete information in the sound track, with a mono speaker all te information in L and R collapses into the center causing us to have problems due to phase cancellation or that some instruments are poorly heard due to overlap as they have been mixed in stereo. I think it is not worth an "improvement" in the sound if we are probably going to have those problems in the audio files that we are going to listen to.
My brother bought a JBL charge 4 and he said that it was broken when he got it I also have the JBL charge 4 and nothing is wrong with it so I updated the firmware for it but it still works all that's happening is I'm hearing a bit of static but that could be the bluetooth frequency
This is the JBL charge 4J, also known as the TL variant, made in the same factory as mine. Same with the JBL charge 3. If your charge 4 is a charge 4S and not a charge 4J, look elsewhere for a disassembly video.
Ok so I’m literally watching this video with my phone hooked up to my charge 4. I’m serious when I say the charge 4 sounds better than the 3 and I’ve blind tested it. I think monospeakers get a bad rap because the charge 4 is definitely an upgrade compared to the charge 3
I like the sound built into the JBL Bluetooth speaker lineup, but I'm disappointed they put the drivers so close to each other, even in the boombox, when they instead could be positioned near the ends like other Bluetooth speakers of the same size, and you can actually hear the stereo sound from those. If you're going to provide a stereo output to the drivers, why not do this? Now JBL is going opposite to mono. I don't get it. Are they forcing people to buy two so they can connect to play stereo? $$$ That's not right JBL. We love the bass and the sound spectrum... for the price we pay, don't take away what little soundstage we could have.
The charge 4 looks like it has a "sub" on the left, with a passive radiator for the speaker on the right. I guess their solution to stereo is to just link 2 of them together...
30 watts out of one speaker is louder than 30 watts divided by 2 speakers, Charge 3 was 20 watts divided by 2 speakers 10 watts per channel, so now 30 watts out of one channel and a different type of speaker ?
Ты хрен объяснишь что из-за 2х динамиков появляются проблемы со звуком, особенно если что-то ниже 200гц есть в сайде. Внутри колонки замкнутое пространство и когда 2 динамика играют не одинаковый звук, можно услышать кучу дефектов. Наконец они доперли что никакого стерео колонка такого размера выдать не может, а как следствие поставили один но мощный динамик. Надеюсь еще АЧХ расширили снизу (И побегу сразу покупать как выйдет лол).
Even IF it is highly subjective whether the Charge 4 or Charge 3 sound better - two small subwoofers can't go as low as one larger one and the Charge 3 doesn't go as low as Charge 4. Stereo is important but I'd rather have better bass from a mobile speaker. I have all the stereo I want at home from two speakers on two opposite sides of my living room. ;)
