Love the graphs; you can see that JBL has more selective frequency, highlighting certain ones and separating them while Sony tries to show them all and results in a rounder but slightly muffled details.

For the WPC you didnt need Music center, you can pair it together only on the speakers

I just bought the Sony XB32. Even though I like the sound of it. I just discovered something I didn't like. It's that when it past 20% of battery Life it when down and couldn't bring it until it was about 50% and I had to turn it off and on again. I think Sony should do something about it, because of that I'm thinking of returne it. Also the controls buttons should be more illuminated. Not in the back of the speaker

What are your thoughts on the JBL Charge 4 vs the SRS-XB41?

I was looking at these recently as I have a HomePod but I really need something portable with solid volume. I know floor units aren't great but the XB32 sounded so much more balanced and smooth overall in the few places I've tried them out. The extra bass on the Sony really seemed to compliment the rest of the audio well. The JBL wasn't bad but it seemed to lack a little bass and maybe was a little more flat and bland in the highs and mids from what I heard.

Did you do the range test with LDAC turned on or off? I think the higher quality LDAC might reduce the range, but you can turn that off.

Honestly, I find the audio test in your reviews somewhat lacking. The microphones you used do not represent the actual audio playback of these speakers. They are somewhat distorted and muffled in the video. I’ve personally heard both these speakers in stores, and I can tell you this: the Sony has a deeper bass that gives a more thrilling experience. The JBL on the other hand is richer in the mid to high frequencies, which is great for vocals and generally pop and classical music. If you’re someone like me who seeks a more energetic experience, then definitely go for the Sony. Otherwise, JBL is a great choice too. Personally, I find the LED lights on the Sony adds a little more cosmetic to the speaker itself, making it more appealing to me.

From what I hear the mids on xb32 are bit more foward sounding then chrage 4 also I find highs better on sony beacuse it doesn't seem overwhelme the mids like I find chrage 4 does now bass however I also feel sony is better it may go lower then chrage 4 and it might even be cleaner not overkilling the mids like chrage 4 does

I think sony has now enable to turn off the low batt warning thru an update of the app... got the xb32.

I'm not sure why but the audio does not do the Sony justice here. I've compared these speakers in the shop & JBL was a huge disappointment in comparison. When turning on live mode with the Sony, nothing else came close. I simply can't here a huge difference here with headphones or a home theatre with sub.. Never thought I'd say it but sony audio against the JBL kicks ass!

It would be more appreciated if you use a binaural microphone, because I don't know what you're using for now but the sound is a real mess and we can't really hear the difference. I'm not trying to insult, just proposing you an idea to make the sound comparison "clearer" to watch/listen))

So the sony was playing in bass mode, but the JBL speaker was not in bass mode (low frequency mode hold- Bluetooth and minus).. doesn't seem as fair.

I have the xb41, two xb31s, and one xb21 and have never had a problem pairing all of them together. And they also play louder in live mode.

I don't know about you guys, but giving the user the ability to control equalizer settings through an app is a huge plus for me. As you know, we all have our own likes and dislikes with sounds. Some prefer more bass than others. Sony gives us a choice by letting us control that through an app whereas you're stuck with JBL's sound preferences.

I bought a xb32 on ebay today for 72$ brand new will be here in 4 days

I have an XB31. It sounds wonderful if you stand close to it, but tiny and loud if you stand further. It is loud inside, but not so loud outside. The XB31 is shit when it comes to resistence. I dropped it on a wool carpet from around 65cm and the front grill broke. I took the grill out, and it was cracked in 3 directions, the centre being over the SONY logo ( on the upper half ) . I let the speaker on the bed facing down, guess what? The left dustcap was pushed. Tried the hot glue stick method, worked but now it looks awful as it is covered in hot glue residue. Tried putting a little super glue gel on the bigger crack, the spot on the front became pure white. I was like WTF?! because the XB31 was like 1 month old and it wasn't cheap. It works perfectly tho.

I prefer the charge 4 sound wise

sony -- we have extra Bass mode in our speaker. jbl -- you kiddo we have a low frequency mode and that nearly kill your passive radiator.

I really dislike this review, and almost misled me. First, the price. The JBL Charge 4 here in the UK retails for £140+, and the Sony is around £80+, it's a big price difference. I got 2 XB32 units for not much more than I would have paid for the Charge, and I bet the pair sounds way better than a single Charge 4. Second, the pairing, at least with 2 units was a breeze, pairing and switching between dual or stereo mode super easy right from the devices. Playing range and issues depends on the playing device. And finally, speaker positioning, like with any speaker, is important, and if you place the XB32 around 5-10 centimetres from a wall, you get a much punchier bass.

The histogram talk by itself. Sony got the wider range of sound which is richer to a most variable type of music. I think this reviews are always biased because they always sample on EDM. If you like EDM, R&B, Rap, take JBL is a no brainer, is almost designed for that, as opposite you like Rock, Indie, Blues which contains too many details take Sony coz wont disappoint you, dat simple.
