@@JB.zero.zero.1 I know that at a crucial time for our country, when we desperately needed an effective opposition, the so-called leader of that opposition sat there like a rabbit in the headlights. I know that when so many people aren't following you, you're not actually a leader. I know that claims of integrity are meaningless unless they translate into action. And I know how to punctuate a question.

It seems to be that Labour is losing people left and right. Owen Jones, Jeremy Corbyn, and perhaps others (I'm not British, so maybe I'm missing famous former Labour supporters over there).

@@ghenulo Have you seen any opinion polls in the last two years? Or maybe heard about the election results? Labour are at around 45% overall, with around 55% support among younger voters. Jones and Corbyn are speaking to a small fringe. I respect them both, share their values and concerns, but just think they need to reconnect with reality a bit more. The reality is that the UK is a two-party system with FPTP - a system which has given a huge advantage to the Tories and made it very hard for the Labour to win elections. Labour has only ever won from the centre. That's why Corbyn's 2019 results were so weak, and that's why Starmer's chances in 6 weeks are looking much better. The biggest risk for him is that people like Corbyn or Jones will help the Tories by seeking revenge. Revenge is never a good motivation - being driven by revenge shows weakness of character.

Maybe they should form their own party and win the next election 😂😂

This "Labour has to be centrist to be eLEctAbLe" thing is something centrists have come up with to justify moving the party to the right, it doesn't reflect anything historical (including recent history)

@@bachelierdrole Polls exist to direct opinion, to normalise ideas of limited choice. Polls are a tool of creating opinion which is why thier "results" are poured into our daily lives by the media.

If McDonnell or Thornberry had been leader they would have handled it better. Corbyn couldn't deal with hard interviews and was so principled the party spent weeks persuading him to put on a tie which he was too principled to do a the beginning.
