He later played Ellsworth on Deadwood, Drew Thompson aka Shelby on Justified, and Lawson the gun dealer on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Jim Beaver is the MAN.
It’s crazy how Matt Nover aka Ricky Roe was such a talented player at Indiana and in the movie he was very well respected by Shaq and Penny because of his game and just could ball and shoot from damn near anywhere.
I hate the dad. Only because he said he is going to run the farm. The dad Decided the Son's future without even talking to him. I hate parents that decide to kids future and they don't even want to know what the kid wants to be when he grows up.
@@EtoTheKay I watched him in high school and got shut down and lost..Had a ok career at I.U. I meant how and why did he make that movie? Other 2 were stars and he was not
@@ryanmathas5649 He avg 7 pts and 4 rebs at Indiana across 4 seasons. Pretty bad. But if you're him and they offer you a pretty solid role in a movie with Shaq and Penny? Hell yeah you taking it! He probably made like $5000 for the role, but I bet it's pretty cool for him to say he was in it and is probably the best experience of his life.
@@ryanmathas5649 I think Shaq and Penny made a PR move not to portray shady kids in their first movie appearance, but rather these mostly-innocent kids who just wanted to play ball and didn't necessarily want any material goods in return. Plus, Penny hadn't even started his rookie season when they filmed, so most young NBA fans weren't familiar with the PG from Memphis St. So, the movie producers got a skilled but relativley unknown guy to play Ricky, someone who could demand bribe money and play one of the minor villains. This is all my own personal theory, but the NBA was starting to hit in-roads with suburban youths thanks to guys like Jordan who always maintained a corporate-friendly image.
I don’t think the son was a racists. He sat next to Butch in the English literature class and didn’t mind hanging out with him. The dad definitely was though.
