Jimmy Barnes ft. Keith Urban - "Good Times" with Jackie James Barnes on drums. From the album 30:30 Hindsight. Recorded by Kevin Shirley at Revolver Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Filmed by Marcus Sweeney-Bird.
Unbelievable voice Jimmy! I just remembered this song when you recorded it with INXS, Jesus im old! Fantastic pipes Brother, Thanks very much for sharing your talent with the rest of us!
One of the most powerful rock voices . Barnsey is a monster vocalist. This guy has carried me through life’s ups and downs with his music. Big love to you Jimmy ❤️
Oh man it is so awesome to see Jackie James in the studio with you Keith. He is the perfect person for a so g like this. Incredible. And Jackie WOW you sound better than ever and can still blow them pipes. Your voice sounds better than ever. Man me and my wife have played this song since I seen it and we can't help but get up and dance in the living room, kitchen, where ever we had company over i have been a drummer playing in bars and clubs for 39 years. And I do some volunteer DJing for benefits in out town for the kids. And they request all the new songs I have them a few dance but I played this song a few days ago my wife and daughter said they don't no that song there not going to dance. Boy did she ever get a big shock. There wasn't 1 person setting down on this song. Floor was packed even the parents and chaperones were up on the dance floor. And by request I ended up playing it 4 times in 2 hours. And could have played it more. I'm dancing around whole typing this. Congratulations on one Hell of a Song and a Great compilation. This needs to be played all the time it's a #1 on the charts for us. And these kids loved it and kept requesting it. So anyone got a slow crowd hit and miss with some people dancing. Play this song and the floor will he packed and you will see the mood change very quick alot livelier. Once again THANK YOU FOR PUTTING OUT A GREAT SONG. Makes me smile just thinking about it. And Jackie james dude you for it going on and hope to see alot more music like this. Keith man dude great job as always and vocals and guitar as good as ever would love to see more songs with you 2 playing. Man killer song.
Hey people don't dislike Keith Urban because of the genre of music he plays. Good luck to him for being good at something that is huge in the States. Inside is a very talented musician who in another life would lead guitar for " the greatest rock band in the world " ! As for Barnsey, nothing I can say needed to enhance his position as the legend of Australian rock he is ! Fantastic version of a classic foot stomper !😎👍
Normally singers Jimmy's age have to lower the key of their songs to be able to keep singing them... It just goes to show how talented Jimmy is that the key is raised from A to B in this! And he still nails it! What a singer.......
Jimmy, the male version of Tina Turner. Ironically, I had not heard of Jimmy until last night when I stumbled upon his and Tina's duet of Simply the Best. Wow. Just wow. Keith, you're great in your own right-love your style!
He started playing ukulele at Age 4 and his father bought him his first guitar at age 6 and his mom and dad had a little convenience store and a woman come by wanting to put an ad in the window for teaching guitar lessons so his Mom said if you teach our son guitar will let you put the ad in the window it's been on from there playing the guitar was his Destiny he actually failed music in school and now years later the guitar is like a part of him.In my opinion no one is better at guitar than Keith Urban. If you watch a lot of his videos the way he handles his pic switching it between his thumb and index finger and putting it between the knuckles of his index finger and middle finger while he finger picks to me that shows how much time he spends playing guitar. Whether or not he writes a song or co writes a song that is given to him he puts his own touch on it and makes it is own. He's just an amazing talent a real genius in my opinion. Keith Urban will always be #1 for me. I'm a huge fan.
Killer cover Version of the Easybeats original from the mid 1960s. I´m nearly 68 and I´m havin´ a fuckin´ whole lotta fun while hearing this! And I´ve got the Jimmy Barnes double-album, where this track is on. Jimmy is one of my all time favourite singers. Killer Voice. ROCK ON!!
your right on, almost got in a fight a few weeks ago telling someone they were 20 years late for the party when they thought it was an inxs song. then it got a little uglier when i told them angus and malcolm's older brother george was in the band easybeats. i still love the jimmy and inxs version better, cant play it loud enough.
I used to put this song (w/INXS) on constantly to get me energized until I hurt my neck dancing around my house. I still play it all these years later, but I don't even try to dance to the back beat anymore. More bass, kinda jazzy. lol
I am so old, I remember when this song came out it was already considered a "retro rock" song in the older cold chisel tradition. Amazing it still rocks now.
I 110% agree. Rose isn't AC/DC but this dude is. If you like Deep Purple and and and others from before Guns and Roses, then maybe we can have this dream
I can't believe this is the first time seeing this video for as long as I have been a Keith fan. It was awesome. So glad I came across this one! Great job guys!

God damn, I saw this and Im like really WTF... and I was wrong... I actuallly have some respect for Keith Urban now. And Jimmy Barnes, good lord that man is off the hook.
First heard Cold Chisel in Australia, 30 years ago. What a great band and what a vocalist JB is. Was amazed no one had heard of them out west. One of the all time greats, no question, should be much more famous than he is. Like Bob Segar on steroids!
So as a long time fan of what today is know as "real country", blues, and rock.... I have to ask... why is Keith playing country pop? Good to see Jimmy back knockin em dead.
It's no INXS version, but I appreciate the effort. It prob means that Keith loved the song growing up as I did and wanted to give it a go. One of my fav songs which I felt NEVER got the recognition it so justly deserved.
