The most common request I get is how to escape bottom side control and its variations. Side control is arguably one of the most oppressive positions to get caught underneath, and you want to get out as soon as you can and as efficiently as you can.
In this video, I show some helpful ways that have gotten me out of some miserable side control positions and variations, including scarf hold and knee on belly.
Please like, share and subscribe!
Also, check me out on Instagram @knight_jiu_jitsu
and don't forget to check out Aperture Fight Focused for lots of great stuff coming!
Thanks for watching!

I agree! As a day 3 white belt (literally watching this before my 3rd class) I've watched many videos from many instructors, and I can say that I enjoy his break downs thoroughly. I'm still in system overload, but he makes this crazy intense art seem feasible!

I’m in the middle of “experiencing” the how, when and why of these escapes. Some of the other peeps in my classes seem confused as to why I’m not going spaz when they get in side control and mount. With pointers like on this video, I’m becoming able to see and take opportunities when I recognize them. Even portions of these moves/escapes work in other situations. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you Eli! Good stuff right here.

You are SUCH an excellent teacher. I hope you are able to make a living off JUST RU-vid, Eli. I am a a HUGE fan brother; you- and your teaching- fucking ROCK. You seem to LOVE teaching the suckiest among us (**cough-**-cough*-*--- 55-year-old-shit-blue here **cough-cough**). You are a NATURAL teacher, and I know this because I MYSELF am one- just NOT anything to do w/grappling (I teach high school History- and my students like me as a person but TRUST ME, my instruction doesn't hold a candle to yours!). You are a born instructor my man. Anyway- thank you my good sir; you are a credit to the art. Hey man last question: do you do Judo? If so, feel free to show us ANYTHING you feel comfortable with. I LOVE Judo, but it's often taught with the assumption that the learner has at least a freaking SCINTILLA of talent, which means it doesn't apply to me lol... Thanks again brother; hard to believe you were EVER a white belt; in fact, I think your first pair of Huggies had two stripes on it lol!
@KnightJiuJitsu
@KnightJiuJitsu Год назад
Thanks so much for the kind words, my friend! That means the world to me. Side note: I am definitely not abler to make a living off what RU-vid pays, but it covers a couple of bills, haha. I work very hard to be a clear communicator and decent teacher, so I appreciate when it comes through. I have trained Judo for many years too, and I have several videos on my channel featuring some things I learned from great teachers. My No Gi Judo video and my Takedowns for People Who Suck at Takedowns videos are pretty popular ones, so check those out when you get a chance. Thanks so much again, Twan!
