Thank you for this. My 2015 JK Sahara without auto climate control only has full cold or full heat. All other positions on the middle knob make no response to the blend actuator. Only when turned fully cold or fully hot will the blend actuator move. Have replaced the blend actuator with a genuine Mopar and it made no difference. I'm assuming the HVAC module will be the next step, but it's pricey and I was hoping someone with a similar issue could tell what fixed theirs.
@@kevinp2820 nothing just yet sir…I haven’t reached out to John Carrillo yet…back home from end of year trip and back to work the next day. Left out from home and back to the oilfield. Make another 💴 for the next adventure. But I will find out for sure.
So far my JKU has lost the blower, recirc actuator, heater core and now the control module. Fun stuff from a quality product! And it's only 10 years old with 100K miles. Good fast write up. Only addition to viewers...put the shifter in 1st gear and get it out of the way to help with getting connectors off of HVAC control.
Those modules do have a fairly high failure rate. I've replaced about a half a dozen over the years and just had to replace the one in my 2011 about 2 years ago. Nice job on documenting the replacement procedure. Mike
I have a JK Sport. This video is helpful even though a Sahara is different than a Sport, but anything I can learn about any Jeep JK is something well learned! Thanks for the video...
Your VERY welcome. We learn something new everyday. I try and pass as much of that along as we can. Thank you for the kind words….We appreciate you watching.
Thanks for the video! Helped me take apart the dash, previous owner or someone who had worked on it put the plug for my hazard lights and traction control in the wrong socket and your video helped a lot as far as where they all connect
I just stumbled across this video and I have a jk doing the same issue. However it could be 10-30minutes before the fan kicks on. Blower motor, resistor, and control module have been replaced. Same problem still
Changed the module on my 2014 and the light still flashes, fan doesn't come on and i can hear the blend door moving around until the fan comes on. No change with the new module. Any ideas? Thanks!
That may be your actual blend door actuator….it is what switches between heat and cool and everything in between….It is the one located just to the right of steering column under dash.
@@blatham59 Hmmmm……I just had a retraction of my own thought….like you said..its not that it doesn’t have heat…just full blown DEATH Valley hot….or no hot. So we know the actuator is moving, just whatever signal it is receiving is either full hot or full cool.. so now I may be back to what is sending the command….HVAC module….but that’s not a guarantee……this isn’t much help to you….LOL…Sorry
My 2015 Sahara is the same, actuator only reacts when the dial is full cold or full heat, I have no in between. Blend actuator is good, I even replaced it with a genuine Mopar actuator and other than operating quieter it made no difference. Did you find a fix?
@@keftel ok…..here’s the truth on that subject….I have NO clue !!!….LOL….I have never read or heard otherwise about anyone doing that. I guess if the flash program was available….maybe….but then I’m not sure how you would even access it…..maybe through J-Scan somehow….
@@ALongLongWaytoGO ha ..thanks .. so I used to have a similar issue with an old Rover .. memory would get jammed up and my mechanic at the time had a way of “erasing the memory” . It would often take up to a minute for AC to start blowing .. The way I remember him explaining was that there were too many functions it had to perform to get to the AC… meaning it had a lot of stored codes that had to be cleared. After he cleared then he the AC would come on quickly. Made sense at the time . Plus it worked .
@@keftel Awesome…..I wish we could figure that out !!!…..Soooo many of these Wranglers all have the same issue….Kind of like….Chrysler / FIAT knows they have a problem.
To be truthful…..I have never looked to see if you can access it from there….or if there is additional items/bracing in the way….I have only ever accessed it from under steering column as it is right there once the HVAC duct is removed….would be curious to see if that would work.
2013…I think I got it from Morris 4x4….I had to search the PN# quite a bit…so many updates for PN#….They did have to send me two different ones…first was wrong…Mine has heated mirrors…automatic climate control…and the temp numbers around dial….they sent one that just had blue to red scale around dial. It was for a later model that did not have automatic climate control.
I have a 2012 with the red/ blue dial, I also have heated mirrors that havent worked (I bought mine used) is it possible I dont have the correct module?
Any ideas the AC worked on the way home and was on in the off position, turned it off now nothing works or lights up any ideas it’s been drying out for 4/5 days already
I am definitely no expert on these things for sure……but I know this module controls everything for the HVAC system. If there’s any moisture or water in there….I’m sure crazy things could happen. Where are you located? We were at Surfside Beach TX event.
