Joan Rivers was very smart and funny, she would have been a successful late nite show host if she had the right support I believe. I truly love watching her on her past shows, and I miss seeing her on television. I hope her family is well and many kind wishes for them. Rest easy Madame Rivers you were the best🤩🤣👜🌹🌹

Joan was not 'perfectly' honest with the reason why Johnny never spoke to her again. When she was interviewed several years ago for a Johnny Carson biography, she stated that what went wrong with Johnny was because she NEVER shared the news to Johnny that she signed on to Fox until AFTER she announced it publicly on television...that is how Johnny found out. Johnny [rightly so] felt betrayed and hung up the phone when Joan called him the next day after the announcement. She stated in the interview that she made a bad decision in not sharing with Johnny her desire to have her own show opposite the Tonight Show.

Doesn't matter... Still very petty and chauvinistic of him. Never spoke to her again??? If it were him, he would've taken that opportunity in a HEART beat. He was WRONG and very PETTY for that. She was ALWAYS grateful to him. So WHAT she didn't get to call him until the day after. He only felt betrayed because she would now become a "competitor."

@@roycey32 Johnny Carson really wasn’t a pleasant person to be around with outside of the Tonight Show. He almost left for ABC in the late 1970’s because of his conflicts with NBC at the time. If you read the book about him that was written by his ex-lawyer, you’ll know how he actually is as a person.

The fact he never spoke to her again, after her show was cancelled, her husband committed suicide and she was black listed from late night ... that's not a rationale man, it's a cruel one.

+Iamno muggle because Johnny is well known for feeling betrayed quite easily and taking action against those he feels betrayed him. Joan got her own late night talk show in the 80s. At the time, Johnny had given her the honor of being his permanent guest host. Johnny claims that Joan never told him she got her own show although she said that she actually did let him know. She never went on again with Johnny as host.

Well, aren't you the "Unknown quoter of scripture"! Hide behind anonymity and quote the Bible; so that makes you right and everyone who disagrees is wrong. Billions of people and hundreds of religions say YOU are wrong. Many religions say there is no heaven or hell. The Egyptians had their beliefs, the Phoenicians theirs, the Greeks, the Romans the Vikings, the Picts and thousands more. Where are those religions today? Yours will disappear someday too and not because of some holy Apocalypse but because humanity will grow up.
