I was at the seminar Nick did a few months ago and someone asked why he hadn’t been on Rogan he said not sure but he would be down to go on. Hit him up Joe 👍
I don't think he is the type to know how to have a conversation, Lil bro is better but still wouldn't be as good. It'll be like a 20 minute podcast lol
@@danielbarbas8978 he's pretty good at conversation but press and interviews are dif it's been a while since he's been Infront of the camera so his recent ones were pretty rough but I remember there was a radio pod I heard a while back with Nick Diaz and Theo von and it was good conversation
@@danielbarbas8978 he should just have someone like Gilbert Melendez to help steer the conversation when it’s going off the rails. If Ariel can do it, so could Joe.
I don't believe everything I read online. i.e. The supposed account of what happened. There were things missing from the story - i.e. connections missing. I do believe Jon got frustrated, banged head - but that's 1,000K Jon just shells out. Waiting for Bones' account.
"When in doubt BELIEVE The A-Lister (Jon Jones) ." That's my Mantra. Until proven different the-A-Lister has the-most-credibility. i.e. One lawsuit after another at the A-Lister. (possible motive every reported fracas) Paps were regularly getting 50K payouts from Ye - that is until Kris Jenner corrected Ye. Now has Ye automatically smiling at the sight of a Pap. "Performance Art." Saved Ye a lot of $$ I can tell you that.
Nick was ripped like 6-8 months ago. Obviously he was having personal issues which effected his camp. That’s what he said. He’s as real as it gets, so I’m taking his word for it. I hope to see him come back with a full camp.
yeah, reminds me of Tony. So ripped/ready for Khabib. Then COVID keeps The Eagle in Russia. Tony loses the fight that Tony most wants. Then there's a lay-off. Then ANOTHER fight set-up (with Justin G.). So Tony's body is all wired - that wasn't Tony in there against Justin G. Dude was emaciated.
Is he still doing triathlons? If so he's not really 38, more like 32 in the physical and cardio dept - but he didnt look like he was in that fight and it doesn't sound like he has any interest in coming back to do it again.
He didn't have any will to win. I saw no fire in him. Him quitting reflected that. He's better off just retiring or risking one more fight to go out in glory.
Nick will go down a legend either way. He didn’t have the dog in him in this fight and that’s unfortunate and understandable. Nick had it all taken away from him in his prime. I’m glad I got to see him fight again. Wether he returns or leaves for good. He was one of the ones that paved way. No one can discuss the ufc history without mentioning him.
How does Joe skip out on calling the return fight of the one man who literally gave his podcast the first biggest shoutout of his podcast career at the time?
Thats what I said. He did prob book his hunting trip a while ago but nicks one of his fav fighters. Where we missed him was the silence after nick said he's done. He would've filled that silence and asked the questions we were all thinking AND he would've followed up during the interview.
By far the best breakdown that I've heard so far. Time is the key and if Nick doesn't want to put the time in, more power to him but you have to work hard and put that time in if you want to succeed, especially at 38 yrs old. Nothing more to be said.
The fight was fireworks :-) Gotta appreciate both Nick and Lawler. Nick threw 339 strikes in around 11 minutes, which was around 100 more strikes than what Valentina threw against Murphy in 4 rounds and close to what Alex threw against Ortega in 5 rounds...
After it was all over, I remembered what Nick said at the press conferences. If I get my ass kicked I get to come back right away, right Dana? Right?! Kinda confirmed for me he wasn't ready.
I like this new setup in the studio. The "Oven" look, not so much. I still miss his past two setups, Jimi Hendrix and the big American flag for nostalgic reasons.
@@ahronthegreat "I don't know how much time.." I don't know how old..." "I think.." "I think.." "I guess..' "I guess.." says Joe the expert. Thanks for your question?
I’ve always thought, just my opinion of course, that the best looking Nick Diaz was around when he fought Cyborg Santos and his 2nd fight with KJ Noons. Especially the Santos fight. Santos was still an extremely scary dude who’d been destroying MF’s and Nick made it look easy.
I somewhat agree, he totally will be back though. I wouldn’t mind seeing him in a 3 round bout against someone like cowboy if he gets really dedicated.
Dude right? I feel like no ones talking about that. He kept posting pictures of him looking in great shape and it’s weird he’d just let that go before a fight. I feel like something happened we’re not being told about.
Overwhelmed, the Anxiety took away his confidence before the fight started..... Not scared but you could tell in the pre fight stuff its not comfortable for him....
@@Jeffm94 not so sure, I think he makes money outside UFC... Also he is trying to be a role model for kids and doing so when you were a bmf can be mentally challenging..... To opposite pesonas needing to be tuned in.....
You should get Jeff Cavaliere from Athlean-X on the podcast. The knowledge that this guy has, combined with Joe's questions and curiosity will make for a great episode of the JRE.
3 months ago everybody was talking about how good of shape Nick was in. Now everybody saying he needs to get in shape. Put 2 and 2 together. Something happened where he couldn't train or he quit training.
Nick was competitive through 2 and half rounds and was Hitting His Opponent .Evander was falling down ,Getting lit up and they stopped it with In a Minute and Holly field Do to keep Him Safe stop the fight were He could not even Hit His Opponent.Which Evander should not have fought at 58 years old .
Nick has always thrown slow volume punches with restrained power. What he excells at are combinations and placements, which he still showed quality in.
Nick in an interview said his heart wasnt really in it. (before the fight) he was kinda like why am i still doing this? It was really interesting. I knew he was going to lose when I watched that interview
I’m a massive Lawler fanboy, have close connections with him, but that win didn’t feel right. Nick simply does not want to be there. The impression I get is that he doesn’t know what else to do so he his going with the pressure. I don’t know his personal or financial situation but I’d imagine he could put a gym together and find a way to move into the next phase of life without doing something he clearly doesn’t enjoy. I hope he figures out what HE wants for himself and not what everyone else wants from him.
the picture of him from last year, shows that if he gets enough time to properly prepare he can get into better shape then when he was younger. hopefully we get to see that nick diaz fight even if its one last time
UFC fighters progress through out the years The fights keep getting crazyier and crazyier ... Diaz was out for 6 yrs ... he steped into the UFC 6 years ago ..while lowler stayed in the game and progressed with the sport diaz was fighting in a 2015 ufc league Good fight none the less
Apparently Nick is being taken advantage of by his representation. The fight was announced like 10-11 weeks in advance but he only had 6 weeks? And he thought he was fighting someone else? He should definitely be more on top of what he's signing up for, but it is sad that one of the biggest stars in the sport still gets taken advantage of by people in it to make money off his name.
@@boogeyman1016 the man has been off for over 6 years. There are many reasons why he didn't fight but I think this fight depended more on his management than it did with Diaz.
@@russianspy5068 you want to know who's trash? Jon Jones. Lying, hypocrite, cocaine snorting drunk, always getting arrested, PED abusing drug addict who can't stay clean. Goat? Pfft. Greatest failure of all time. That guy is a disgrace to the sport and fans. Diaz got 5 years suspension for having Marijuana metabolites in his test and gets fined $150k. You think he wanted to be out for 5 years? They screwed him bad.
As I was watching the Lawler Diaz fight this past weekend, at least the highlights cause I didn't actually buy the fights, but it looked like Lawler kinda took it easy on him at times. Just speculating.
Nick Diaz had 6 years off and never expected to return. Smoking and drinking the whole time. The level of conditioning it takes to fight that level is insane! After taking 6 years off he will never return to his former shape! It's impossible. He trained his entire life constantly to get where he was 6 years ago. After this long of a break you cannot possible get back to that condition
@Shiminyshwa but no one is trying to smash your face....fighting shape is way different with that said if anyone could do its him....how bad does he want it. He simply looked like he didnt want to be in the octagon....incredible athlete fun to watch but what would 30 yr old Diaz say about that fight.....you start with spinning shit wtf.
I mean we all kinda expected robbie lawler to beat nick up, but the way it ended was just one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen in mma, I’ve never felt more sorry for a fighter than I did for Nick Diaz in that moment..
People say this but honestly his ban was lifted years ago and no one made him come back but himself, he could have pushed it off or started prepping earlier.
Joe before the fight: diaz does a triathlon 12 times a day he's never out of shape he's a god Joe after the fight: he's old idk if he's training he's not lean blah blah
Nick made so much history that they didn't even touch on Pride, just walked into Pride and gogoplata win against the champ is all. Sad the years he lost bc weed, people sparking at events while he was sidelined
I Heard 6 weeks training and he said "i knew i had it coming i dunno how i got in this fight and i did not wanna make a to big mess and happy he could give a the people something to enjoy " sooo he did awesome
I don't claim to know what fears, issues or motivation is in the minds of Jones, Diaz's, A. Smith etc..but they are modern gladiators. As a fan, I appreciate their fight spirit
I actually checked my settings to make sure it wasn’t at .75 speed or something. No joke. They were clearly pulling by their punches to make a show of it for the fans.
Everyone’s somehow overlooking the fact that Robbie Lawler is a straight savage and in between the time they last fought became welterweight champion, took part in some of the best fights of all time and obviously improved his game massively. People talk as if this would be a cakewalk for Nick.
Couple of questions: When fighters get say 6 weeks notice is it short notice because of arranging travel, accomodation etc is a pain or is it because in the fight camp they are getting 1 on 1 training with the head coaches? and say 2 months is better with dedicated training than say 6 weeks in a 1 on 1 envoirnment? I guess also my question is outside of the fight camp they must be in the gym and training still surely so would they not be in fight shape? Please excuse my confiusion on this one!
