What are y'all smokin? 😂 He has all kinds of guests. Of COURSE fighters and comedians are going to make up a certain percentage, those are his 2 worlds!
Out of 2,100 episodes - Norman Ohler is now one of my favorites if not the favorite. Could sit and listen to this guy for days. You HAVE to have him back once he finishes the 3rd book.
If you like him as I did Annie Jacobson has got to be your second if not close right? Great to listen to at night when your trying to relax and learn something.
By far one of the best behind the scenes history lesson I've ever watched on WW2. What mainstream won't push to the public. Thank you, Joe and Mr. Ohler. Will definitely read his books!
Within the first 5 minutes he already lied shamelessly. "No one knew the nazis were using drugs before I found out (in 2014) for my book blitzed" Quick Google search and there are tons of related articles from before 2014. I also remembered hearing of that way earlier. In Germany it was a common anecdote and joke. Embarrassing, how can someone lie so shamelesly? Now I doubt everything else he says.
Hell yeah, I skip almost all of those videos. You can tell without knowing who they are too, just watch for 2 minutes and realize a topic hasn't been brought up, they just shoot the shit too casually and almost never say anything that isn't an opinion.
It's genuinely remarkable how people can have completely distinct encounters with psychedelics. A friend and I experimented with them for the first time, ingesting the exact same quantity simultaneously, and yet our experiences were uniquely different and equally wonderful.
I totally agree! Psilocybin mushrooms and psychedelics in general have shown great potential in helping people with mental health issues. It's truly remarkable how effective they can be in treating depression and anxiety.
Please America wake up people! We need your entire population to realize the fake reality we are forced to live in. And as soon as you, people from the USA, take back your real freedom and rights, the whole destiny of every human being on this planet will take a big turn!!! Please wake up guys before it's too late, it will not be easy, but it will be 1000x worthy. I'm a Belgian guy living in a little village in Colombia and as many others I decided to accept that we live in a paradise called mother earth, and we create our lives from the very same shiny beautiful light inside our hearts, father god or any names you want to call it.... The source we are all connected... The truth we are made from and for, to make the world as much as perfect it is possible, because it's within our nature... Let's do it! its above politics and wars and jobs. It is an inside job, a deep look at our selfs, and each one has its own path, but in the beginning, it is only a decision. Yes, something is calling me since forever inside me, I know it, but I forgot what it was, but I know why I want to answer this call, Because I know it is the good choice ... JUMP and ENJOY, with nothing to fear because there is nothing unknow ... let's meet ourselves and see what it becomes on a bigger scale, on the humanity scale, for sure it's the only path for us all together, with our own full togetherness... and be in peace, youhouuu . Life is love, not fears so the world is.
perhaps one of the top 20 podcasts of Joe. This dude is the old school type of German genius with intensive research to back up his points. Huge bravo.
Psychedelics only open you up to Satan and pride to believe something that isn’t true, I’ve tried all of the so called “wonder drugs” they all amount to the same result of every other drug known to man, false hope.
Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
Can you help with the reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. Very hard to get a reliable s0urce here in Australia. Really need!
Yes, blizmyco. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
I am 59 yrs old.. I had suffered migraines all my life since I was about 14.. there was a time in my 40s when I had debilitating migraines twice a week.. I called them "puke and sleep" days . When I was about 54 I tried mushrooms for the first time (psilocybin cubensis, about a gram and half). The next morning my first thought was how comfortable my brain felt... I HAVE NOT HAD A MIGRAINE SINCE THAT DAY. In five years I have had ZERO MIGRAINE HEADACHES. I know the mushrooms cured my brain. Nobody can convince me otherwise..
in the series How to Change Your Mind thats on netflix, based on the books written by Michael Pollan, theres an episode about LSD and, among other things, how its being researched for helping cluster headaches
@@ModestMangif the numerous accounts of stories about psychedelics that heal haven't convinced you yet, I doubt you were waiting for scans from some random guy to change your mind. Have you ever tried some of these substances?
One of the best episodes of JRE since the very start of the show. Please get more people like Norman into the podcast so we can learn something actually. Thank you.
I´m not sure if people realize how much of Joe´s podcasting success comes from the fact that, almost always, he really lets his guests talk and knows how to listen. His podcasts are about the interviewee first, and much less about the interviewer. Best guest ever, Joe! Thank you guys!
Joe pls u have to bring serodix in and let him tell us what kind of hidden German documents he found from Hitler and why he got beat in coma before publishing
Please just type in serodix koma and you will find a lot he released some documents he still is in possession of but they tried to k him he needs a place to tell the story man for real hope Joe is going to bring him in
Omfg - this guy is a legend. An hour and a half in he actually said something like “are you ready to talk about my book? I thought you had me on to learn about it.”
@@kevin_heslipunfortunately he’s been doing the same topics for decades. One of the biggest reasons I don’t think of him as an intellectual “ergot-pottery, reefer madness, hemp and the illegality of it MK ultra” he’s talked about these topics literally countless times
This is why I love Joe Rogan. Genuine conversations with people I've never heard of, about subjects I've never thought of. Don't believe the media's shallow lies. Everyday people are ready for sincere, deep thought.
As someone who has been listening to the podcast since the Ustream days I’d easily rank this a top 10 episode. Watched the whole thing on a Friday night.
It's the type of guest who has done research, they feel compelled to share, as a lot of actual research is the search for truths hidden in history and we naturally all have a fascination for this. At least I do...
What this guy had to say was way more interesting than I was expecting. Very similar drug talk that alot of other guests have talked about but with a very unique twist. You gotta have him back on when his third book comes out.
I had been struggling with drinking for the past 13 yrs. Thankfully my friend introduced me to 🍄 and I did 10 micro dose sessions and I'm finally proud to say I have been alchoal free for 7 months. It feels amazing to not have to drag my self back to the liquor store every day. Extreme High Five to 🍄.
You need more sunlight. Avoid artificial lights and phone/tv screens. Listen to Dr.Jack Kruse or Alexis Cowan. Research POMC Pro-opiod melanocortin. The sun is more important than you could imagine.
Guests like this are what made me become a habitual listener of JRE back in 2017-2018 - it's pure education - which is obsolete in most media outlets today. Back then -I feel JRE had more guests like this than it did comedian guests while still having a balance, but nowadays it's more comedians compared to guests like Norman.
As a ADHD person that took adderall through all the time of high school and now experience all kind of psychedelic drugs it’s crazy that they force me to take it as a kid
Really interesting perspective you have, thank you for sharing. Would you say it helped you get through highschool/studying, or was it a bad experience throughout?
@@hadeelmasoudi3308it was not a good experience for me, focalin and strattera fucked me up. Zombied me out, killed my appetite, made me numb etc. I remember after a week or two of taking it, I started flushing it down the toilet or throwing it out the bus window as a kid. Shit was terrible for me. 0/10 experience
@@hadeelmasoudi3308 for me it was a lifesaver for school because it allowed me to actually stay concentrated while studying. Before that, I would take constant breaks because my mind would wander so much that I just simply couldn’t stay on topic. However, once I graduated, I immediately got off of it and there was an adjustment period Where life seem to get harder, but I wasn’t dealing with the negative side effects of the drugs anymore.
I'm a caretaker for my grandmother and she has onset dementia from a tumor on her brainstem. Over the last 3 years I see her get worse and worse, I'm only 27 and I'm not ready to lose her but it's hardest thing I've had to deal with in my short life so far. I'd do anything to get my grandma back.
@joeroganreviewexperience9964 Yes , I have heard it works wonders for all types of mental issues (this is even before this lionsmane hype) I started reading up on this and I would love to try however I live in NY in which for me it's tough to find . Yeah , Awesone recommendation
If I have to here another podcast where he and another comedian talk about there "writing process" I think I will smash my phone up 😂 It's like they see themselves as above the general public because they are "COMEDIANS" dnt you know
It's not that it's this guy takes claim that nobody knew it before him, he had to tell everybody that they were doing that, that's BS anybody who's awake knows that stuff was going on and a lot of people are not awake. Therefore, they don't know, and this guy. Just realized something a few years ago, but a lot of people have known this for like 20 years. It's just not mainstream news
I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHY JOE KEEPS REPEATING HIMSELF! Joe does fine job when he is just asking questions, listens to the guests and vibes with his friends. BUT every time he tries to educate and lecture to his guests he reverts back into repeating himself with the same stories he has told 1000x times. Every time he tries to switch his mode into being educator, he repeats his boomer talking points, same old boring stories, and latest troll memes that tricked him. Rogan mostly just reads headlines so every time he tries to educate people - the end result is just telling the same boring shit he has already repeated, because he never actually learned anything valuable to share by just reading the political outrage porn headlines. This "switching mode" is what is fucking him up. He probably doesn't even realize how he is trying to get social validation by sharing his "valuable" information with his educator role switch. Political ragebate content feeds this extreme polarization and confirmation bias. It gets people like Joe needing to be right and attempt to take this educator role in conversations that really don't benefit from the phenom.
@@AviapoIishe is just like every other person in this world that regurgitates things they have learned but you are right when you have a giant demographic you have to be aware of the shit you’re repeating might be false articles online arnt facts even though sometimes they seem to be very compelling. I’m sure he is self aware he is doing it but when you share so much of your personality online for hours every week you are bound to talk shit and repeat bogus stuff you “heard from a friend” it’s just part of being human if you are an adult you should be able to figure out he isn’t a teacher and more of a talker and entertainer. If you believe everything he says you should consider yourself very fuggin gullible and probably shouldn’t be using sharp implements or using the kitchen unsupervised.
Joe is very interesting Just from purley interviewing for thousands of hours some of the most interesting names . I realize joe is not on a level that many are ... but he definitely is interesting and intelligent He isnt simply the podcast 🏆 champion but the guy is a riiiiiich guy who wants to know things and IS EXPERIENCED When it comes to PSYCHEDELICS And has surely had an interesting life. Give the man his props Those repeated stories actually made its way around to mannny other rich and interesting folks of all walks from all walks of life And changed their lives see the news reporter who quit her job at CNN i do believe and went to the Amazon by herself to experience Ayahuasca for herself , this inspired her to make her own podcast and this is one example ... Give him his props
This is THE perfect JRE guest! Best show in a long time. Could not stop listening. Been running around with headphones for the last 3 hours. And finally a likable german guest.
Luckily the nazi will prolly be seeing wolves and bears coming at him from the opposite direction of you and think that the other nazis are cia agents trying to catch them
I know tweakers to be dehydrated and malnourished. Their mind might be in it, but their body can't hang. I'm old enough now that I'm no longer looking for any physical altercations, but I wouldn't consider anyone on speed for any length of time a serious threat if equally armed. You're going to have stamina, clarity, and reaction time on your side if you're healthy.
Hes bad at balancing his guests... there's periods where there's way too many experts and then periods with way too many comics. He rarely has anyone controversial anymore which is lame
Well he was talking about it from a factual point of view. Us Germans are the only country in the world who has fully opened the door and cleaned house publically. We’ve carried the guilt of our evil found etc etc etc. From a purely military point of view… look what they managed to achieve with bluff, luck and the use of crazy ideas born under the guise of performance enhancing drugs. Nobody’s patting anyone on the back. But from a purely military historic point of view.. just facts.
Like all Germans he totally over-compensates the other way now, the narrative he spins around jazz, racism, Jesse Owens etc. Would be nice to meet a German who just says it how it is.
I resonate with his insights on Islam and monotheistic religions. Raised in a strict Islamic household, I conformed to please my parents rather than out of personal conviction. During my cancer treatment, when my mother discovered my weed pipe, her tears labeled me a sinner beyond redemption. Despite frequent reminders of the 9th level of hell awaiting me, I now savor the freedom of self-authenticity. I strive to be a good person and kind to others. If I were to explore a faith, Christianity would be my contemplation.
Alhamdulillah, the truth is, no one knows what happens when we die. Anyone who claims they know is a liar. Love your life to the fullest, be kind to strangers and be free. May god bless you brother.
I don't know if there is a hell but I'm sure you don't go there for smoking weed. Be the best person you can be and be gentle with others, remember Tat Tvam Asi.
I think because there is such a fine line between hedonism (darkness) and exploration (light), most religions err on the side of caution and teach people never to mess with substances. But that fine line is where god lives. Fear and rejection of the unknown breeds stagnation
Unrelated to what this man is talking about. My great grandmother is from czechoslovakia my grandma is from Germany… hearing this accent brought me back to a happy time and gave me a happy cry.
I've battled alcoholism my whole life. I can tell you from 4 years of experience that 🍄 help so much with almost every aspect of alcoholism for myself. I would say have a safe space and good friends to do them with and possibly by yourself in the beginning. They rewrire your brain. Go out in the woods and experience an Ego death. Its the best thing for people who are suffering from anxiety and depression. Helps you realize that all the things you thought were important are a little less each time and help you to see what really is important. Love JRE and have been a fan for years. This was a banger for sure ✌️
You were so close to getting it right @1:21:22 when you were talking about Ken Kesey. He talked the CIA into giving him a bunch of LSD and he threw parties. They were called the Acid Tests, and the house band that played them were The Grateful Dead. The Grateful Dead's sound engineer became the king of LSD and sold over 5 million doses. Among his clients were The Beatles. The Steely Dan song Kid Charlemagne is about him. Agustus Owsley "Bear" Stanley III. The King of LSD.
DaVinci did not paint on canvas. He painted on plaster, poplar, and other types of wood panels as did almost every other Renaissance painter until the Venetian School changed the status quo in the early 16th century. The story goes that Titian was commissioned to paint works so large that wood panels wouldn't do, and he was inspired by the canvas sails of the boats that moved through the Port of Venice. Canvas could be primed, painted on, rolled up for transportation, and later stretched over wood for its final display. It remains the favorite surface of oil painters today
This is false. Canvases were invented by aliens so that they could hide their space ships underneath. Pirates didnt even exist back then. There were no boats. Only tiny boats with huge canvases for aliens.
@@FOWST Wrong. Any comment can have a ripple effect where it will reach JRE. Joe said many times he doesn't read comments but he never said anything about his team...
@@MerryChrisMas25 I hate the entitlement. People here really think anyone cares about their opinion. Trying to tell rogan what kind of guests he should have on and who not.
I dont watch no name comics Joe, you're the most popular podcaster on Earth you can have anybody you want we don't want to see any more Roadies, I want to see rocket scientist and people like Terrence Howard that think on the whole different spectrum I loved that episode, and this one's a pretty good episode too.
what are the real world benefits? every time i hear people advocate hallucinogens i never get a answer that satisfies me. did the mushroom consciousness give you blue prints to some tech? or tell you to start a company or how to run one. or what stock to invest in? I took different types of hallucinogens a fair few times when i was younger but all it did was give me a few hours of escape and no measurable long term positive life changing effect. i see it can be a pattern interrupter but that can be done with out ingesting substances.
Can you explain to me, someone who never tried anything like it, does it have an intoxicating effect when you guys talk about microdosing? Or is it like taking a vitamin pill?
humble, simple and intelligent Norman is right. Joe, you are doing a wonderful job! And this podcast is a jewel 💎 thank you Norman for sharing the hidden knowledge ❤️🙏
Same. If I remember right he had a crazy personal doctor who would follow him around and literally dope him up all day /night like a video game or something. Crazy…
Such a great guest! Love listening to someone who are at least convincing that they've actually did the research. Seemed very informed and informative.
This sugar thing is interesting to me. When I was about 8-9 my mom began what we call her 'health food kick'. We had no refined sugar at all. On Easter, our Easter treats were all based on things like honey, fruit or molasses. She cooked only with whole grains. If she made a dessert or something, she would substitute some other sweetener in a recipe. To this day, 50 years later, I don't like things that are sweetened with sugar. I think it is ok in small amounts, I do occasionally eat a small piece of dark chocolate as a little snack. I have found I like things that are tart or bitter more than most people. It's the same with breads, rice or pasta, I would rather eat whole grains. My mom always called things grainy or not, her way of understanding
Sugar itself is not the problem at all, the amount of consumption of it is what matters. Not just with sugars though, just as guns don't kill people, the one who uses it does.
