I absolutely love how John Anderson tells stories!

John Anderson is a true American working man that made his career and made his mark in life telling the truth and telling the people how life really is. As a young man, he showed responsibility by working in and around the orange groves in Apopka, FL. and playing in a little rock band. After he moved to Nashville in 1971, he managed to get a construction job that included building the new Grand Ole Opry building. He also played at some local venues and eventually was signed to a recording contract and the rest is history! He is an American Workingman Hero is is to be saluted!

This a Central Florida boy song. We spent many nights with keg parties in the orange groves. Many days sand surfing

This is the first John Anderson song i heard oh so many years ago. He is a true to his word man born straight out of middle class.

When I was driving my truck in the early 80s I used to listen to his songs and still love them.

This Song has a lot of meaning to me and it is ALWAYS in my CD player for inspiration, Thanks John!

I hate that kids today will never know the fun of playing tag on horse back at night... Down in the Orange grove. All the groves are gone.

love the way those blossoms smell in bloom, also used to find old groves in the pines on certain hunting properties I worked on in Lake County Florida

We had a ranch in FL, 420 acres of citrus, God I hated putting up smudge pots. I went back home and most of the groves are no longer people let a lot of their groves go. Our place was sold when Grand daddy passed and my daddy, now it is a dairy farm. Sigh.

from Davie Fl, we still have Orange groves, all the owners work in their groves, till harvest time, then they contract that out.
