maybe I'm the crazy one, but I think this guy was phenomenal replacement for Steve Perry.

He’s got a great voice. Singing Journeys catalog blew it out after a while though. Not an easy catalog of music to sing.

Definitely NOT crazy! Early on before they overworked his voice he was awesome!!! Still love Augeri!!!! Much cleaner sounding than Arnel I think. I will give props to Arnel, great singer, but I just prefer the timbre of Augeris voice.

Singing Journey songs is not easy. Steve Perry is the best of course. With replacement, Steve Augery has more clearer voice than Arnel, the same with Dean but when it comes to durability Arnel is different. In business you choose durability more than the looks. Ofcourse Neal Schon wanted to keep Journey until he gets old and can no longer play. See what happen to Steve A who only lasted a couple of years. In my opinion even if Steve Perry is around I don't think they will sound the same. Journey songs plus their touring schedule is brutal. There are times Arnel wanted to quit because of the schedule but because he is built for this he us now the longest lead vocals of the band.Respect to them.

They had the opportunity to make new music and a new Journey era with him that could have been as big as the Sammy Hagar era with Van Halen and they blew it.

You say that. He's singing from the heart and thankfulness towards the chance of being able to perform in front of so much loyal fans and broken souls. Steve Augeri was as talented as Steve Perry even Arnel.
