I really miss these old games, what they lack in graphics and everything modern they more then make up for in raw creativity, story telling and ambiance, seems so priceless when you look at todays AAA titles..good job
Man. When I was a wee boi, I once saw on G4TV, a shot from a FPS game with a very, very, large and round woman in purple. I never knew what game that was, and I I thought for years that I imagined it. Until I was bored one day, and saw this in my feed, and saw that same purple woman again. Weird how the world works.
Great review! It is disappointing that Rebellion does nothing with 2000AD, only Sniper Elite and Zombie Army. I understand that is their money makers, but they could at least sprinkle some 2000AD games in between.
Game is certainly rich on the locals of judge dredd comic, much better than the movies, it's nice that the game tries to have repliability with level score, arena maps and side rewards but it's kinda redundant now, it's enjoyable to play but there's really nothing for this game to offer after 3 levels
Rebellion made the Jaguar game (as far as I can tell) and the 1999 game. So when I refer to the first two AVP games that's what I mean. I understand neither are technically the first due the arcade game and it's ports, but most people aren't really thinking of those.
4:25 I should tell you... Heatseekers aren't very effective vs Undead (Vampires and Zombies which make up a ton of the enemies you fight while they still track Vampires they don't track Zombies at all), this is where Incindiary comes in, as if you light a enemy on fire the Heatseekers will prioritize that enemy, so vs humans you go from them kinda going after whoever to them beelining for one ene,y specifically, and vs Undead it lets you effectively target them and enables them to target zombies, another perk is that it seems to loosen up the aim required for Heat Seekers. I think giving Incindiary AND Heat Seekers was a very deliberate choice on the dev's part as the Lawbringer has other ammp modes to use, as for High-Explosive, it's my go-to for problem enemies ammo consumption be damned, a direct hit will hurt a ton and it's actually unfair in Judges vs Perps since one team, does not have Lawbringers and the other does.
I knew you'd make fun of 1995... so damn overused. It was never a funny or smart bandwagon to be on to begin with. People that say they dislike that movie usually haven't even watched it in like 20 years, so their memory is mostly faulty.
I get what you mean, but any good bits are completely eclipsed by the presence of Pauly Shore who single handedly makes the film unwatchable. I'd consider it a camp classic, but I'll be in the middle of a scene that I'm enjoying only for Pauly Shore's character to interject with an unfunny line that kills the pacing completely. I feel like if you cut most of his lines the film would be much better, because he's the comic relief in a film that's much funnier when he's not present.
