I have semi-flat feet with only a minor arch but boy.. when i jump rope i can feel it. Seriously works the feet arches, whereas when i run i dont feel like my arches are worked near as much, running just hurts my joints. When i jump rope my feet are the first things to get sore probably because im seriously overweight.

I had flat feet since childhood. I was doing the jump ropes since last three months for my weight loss. Few days back i saw some change in my fleet and was searching whether it was due to jumping ropes. And here i got somw reference for this. Thanks man. I will continue to do this till i will fix it 😊

Great! If you find it hard to resist pronation, when jumping, try keeping your ankles in contact while jumping, to give you proper feedback.

5:03 shout out to @RopeRage! Well, now you've got my attention. Subscribed. Great content. I've been jumping for 10+ years and I'm only now coming across the idea of using minimal shoes. It makes a ton of sense. I think i've been cramming my toes into a triangle for too darn long. You've got some great videos with a real focus on the basics of movement that are often overlooked.

It worked for me! Flat feet run in my family (no pun intended). Over the last 8 years, I have been to the doctors who offered me surgery but luckily I decided not to go down that route, I had physiotherapy for weeks to no avail. I put on weight because I couldnˋt run anymore. In order to keep exercising I would lift weights and I bought a bike because it was low impact but then Covid-19 put me in lockdown and I decided to try to skip rope . After a week I noticed that my foot felt a lot better, less painful, stronger even. This morning whilst browsing RU-vid, I found this video and there you have it. Itˋs true! Skipping (jump rope) can fix your flat feet. I use the app Crossrope which has a lot of free workouts. Start with the beginners challenge and hopefully you too will notice an improvement in your flat feet.

ArrangingClouds, is skipping good when you suffer with plantar fasciitis or that will aggravate it? Thanks
@MissKateCambridge
@MissKateCambridge 3 года назад
@@mvc9192 I think fallen arches (flat feet) are often linked to plantar fasciitis. However, with Plantar fasciitis you need to stretch your calf muscles every day, don’t walk barefoot on sand and go and see a specialist. All my problems with fallen arches started with plantar fasciitis and you should do everything to fix the problem now before they get worse.

Great video! I’ve been jumping rope for a while but on and off and i have flat feet. Recently started doing 2000 a day in sets of 250 but found the inside arch was giving me pain. I thought it was because of the skipping. What would you recommend?

What if you have high (or medium arches)? Im new to your channel. I walk all wrong stomping on my heels and it has caused me 100 issues eg feet inflamation, foot cramps, front of leg muscle cramps, weak non visible calf muscles, knee issues and just bad posture all together. I think it all starts with my feet. i Dont seem to flex my ankles. I think this started when i had splint shins as a teenager and stopped moving my ankles to reduce shin pain. thats probably when i developed this problem which has snowballed. ive been wearing orthotics for 10 years or more but i still get sore feet and always heel blisters from orthotics. SOS

I have been doing hiit trainings and skipping rope while wearing vivo barefoot primus lite for weeks. I started to experience more fatigue in my feet and finally now I have plantar fasciitis. I already had good arches, and right before the plantar fasciitis started I noticed my arches had become higher. I have to wear arch support and cushioning now, because otherwise it's unbearable to walk. I'm wondering what's the right thing to do at this point.

One thing to consider. If an exercice is good for foot strengh, foot function, foot mobility or anything else, it could also be a bad thing if you do it too much and toi SOON. It's all about quantity and about progresivity. It's like if someone play badminton for 1h a week and want to progress. If you make him play 10h a week, he will hurt himself! He should play 3h for a few month, then 5h ... Etc.. For your case, Skipping rope, and barefoot shoes are great ways to strenghen your foot and optimise their function. But you can't go to fast! You have to add just a few minutes of jump rope to beggin with (even if you don't feel fatigued, it doesn't mean that your feet are not getting stronger). Same for the vivobarefoot! Why not wearing them for 1/2 hours maximum 3 days a week ? Let a few week goes by, them increase slightly... Progresivity is such a long road... It's boring... But it's what make a difference between a hurt foot, and a more functional foot. And keep in mind, you Can NOT progress too slowly ! Even if it's boring, it's better to make a very long transition to make sure your body can adapt to these new stimuli

This is great advice! How much time do you think I should do the five fixes for flat feet exercises before I start to jump rope? I've had flat feet for 2 years
@GrownandHealthy
@GrownandHealthy 5 лет назад
Well after about 2 mths of the flat feet exercises (practicing every other day), you should be able to have the ability to go in and out of pronation and hold a "short foot" position..once you can establish that control, then you will be ready to jump rope.

Is running/jogging in place any easier on the knees than regular style or what some call “granny” style? I personally went from noob, felling all the aches n pains..to perfection learning on my own and just feeling it out; came to me naturally. I never got into double unders of boxer style. But I perfected juming regular maybe throwing a shuffle in, for minutes at a time into the 3-400s. That’s about as crazy as I got with it. Haven’t jumped in a minute, but loved it at my peak. It’s addicting and at times, I always had a rope with me:) Anyways..Thanks, and appreciate your info sir👍

I feel the movement mainly in the calves and not necessarily the feet. Is this normal? Thank you for the videos. I’m jumping rope in socks.
@GrownandHealthy
@GrownandHealthy 5 лет назад
This exercise will definitely fatigue the calves, but focus on landing only on the forefoot and gripping the ground with your toes when you elevate. Think of it as doing "calf raises" for your toes.

I’m 70, heavy and I have arthritis in my hips, knees, back, shoulders, and neck, Maybe I shouldn’t do enough of a jump to leave the ground, but I think I could initiate enough of the movement to benefit from it. I want to regenerate the cartilage in my joints. Can I do that? How?

I would avoid jumping rope, until you are able to move pain free.
