The first 7 minutes of the movie were the Best part of the Film by far in my opinion and You Failed to mention It in your Spoiler Review!? But I mostly agreed with your review because after the first 7 minutes the movie goes downhill in so many ways.

Can someone tell me what use a dinosaur is in a war? How is one Baryonyx going to be of any use what so ever against a 50 cal, RPG, tank or F-22? Even the Indoraptor which is supposedly bullet proof can be killed by a pointy bone by two people so I don't think he'd be much trouble.
@Real_MisterSir
@Real_MisterSir 6 лет назад
I think the thought is to release them into remote war zones in harsh environments - like an alternative to ground based drones / bots. It would also mean that the military could deploy emp attacks and the dinos would not be effected by it, unlike regular drones or electricity based weaponry. Not saying it's a good idea, just that's what I think they want with the dinos. Like imagine war dogs on sterroids running around at night or in sewers etc, or in the jungle. A 50 cal won't help you if you don't see your attacker coming.
@SuperMattman21

Christopher Berner If you actually paid a little attention to the movie you'd have realized that the cloning of the girl is the first step in Ian Malcom's fear speech about man made creations that he gives at the beginning of the movie. So essentially it's part of the whole moral dilemma of the movie and fear of mankind creating its own extinction, but you wouldn't understand that, cause you can't pick up obvious things when watching a movie it would appear and for some reason you blame the movie for that.
@pandaman9604

@@KTK44 I'm sorry I don't, for most movies id see what they're trying to go for but for fallen kingdom I can't, I mean after 5 jurrasic park movies now there are human clones? I'm sorry but why now??? It just seems odd especially in a movie centering around dinosaurs. I will give the movie a couple positive notes, the indoraptor was very scary and cool, plus the ending where the dinosaurs are released in the world, it's now literally jurrasic world, it's the perfect set up for the next movie, they have a golden opportunity in terms of creativity, I just hope they don't mess it up
@KTK44
@KTK44 5 лет назад
Christopher Berner Whether I like the human clone idea or not I think it makes more sense that it begins now than when they cloned dinosaurs in JP etc. And actually if you remember back to Jurassic Park, there's a video of Hammond in which he clones himself. He also shows them that he uses a drop of his own blood for the dinosaurs when he pricks his finger. I don't know if you recall that scene in JP? Back then it was of course just a gimmick made by special effects in Hammonds info video, but it makes sense that Hammond and Lockwood somewhat had ideas that cloning could be something we'd try with humans eventually especially when it turned out that Hammond was against Lockwood cloning his daughter. Maybe the results and sheer horror of what happened in JP scared Hammond away from cloning while Lockwood wasn't affected by it and therefore didn't have the same skepticism. All of that said it's merely a try to take the franchise in a new direction because obviously Lockwood was never a part of the canon before JW:FK introduced him.

I liked that the raptors were still depicted as volatile in behaviour, and not point-and-click obedient. They didn't just fall in line when Owen stepped into the pen (the scene in the first JW, where a park worker fell into the raptors' pen), and even chased after him. It’s a flawed movie, but still a fun movie to watch. I loved seeing the group going back to Nublar, I really wish we had more footage of their trek on the island. I enjoyed seeing the Indoraptor unleashed in the mansion too. The setting felt tight and condensed which was cool to see. Personally, it’s better than Jurassic World

I think the thing people are forgetting at the climax of the movie. The button opens the door....so naturally it should close the door if you press it again. It would make no sense to make a door that can only open but never close, but hey movie logic.

@kingrockkid
@kingrockkid 6 лет назад
Matthew Hieber They showed in the movie the dinosaurs moving across america. That area is still a high population area (500k-1.1 million people), it will not take a dinosaur especially the smaller ones long to cover ground. Flying dinosaurs will be trouble enough and undoubtedly will cross over calfornia in a matter of days if not hours.
@SuperMattman21
@SuperMattman21 6 лет назад
Kingrockkid its the way you phrased it. And now the way you continue to explain it, it sounds as if you would use those same words if the house was located anywhere other than a remote island like Nublar or any of the cinco muertas. It's a goofy way of saying "design flaw when its next to the dinosaurs cells... located in the U.S." Btw you can't use the later scenes in reference to your original point, which was about the emergency button. The characters realized the possible consequence of such an action. Its not like they didn't consider it.

Well yeah, the message was clear in the first movie with the dinosaurs coexisting with us. But right now it is our fault that the dinosaurs are roaming free in the world (or al least USA) and we have to take responsibility for them And when you think about it, the carnivores aren't as deadly as everyone is pointing out, we (in the real world) coexist with other carnivorous animals that are deadly as hell but are we all going to be dead because of that? No. The reason why in the next movie we should care about them is because surely some persons will decide to kill them with guns, fire, etc. So right now its still our job to save them

It kind of makes sense, but wouldn't you also think that if they actually paid this much money for the dinos, they could just hire Henry Wu and his team of scientists instead and make them create whatever dino they'd want? They already did the pre research, should not be a matter of 100 millions to set up a lab and reconstruct the gene splicing. Honestly, I feel like the prices were fair - maybe a tad on the lower side, but definitely not too far fetched. If there were no hopes for reconstructing the dinosaur gene splicing facilities, then I'd agree with you, that the prices were too low.

@Jack_Stafford
@Jack_Stafford 6 лет назад
Ryan Mason listen to yourself for a moment. There are pieces of artwork that sell for 250 million dollars. There are lots and lots of cars that sell for multiple millions of dollars. Not to mention many rare jewels that are worth billions, that can be copied so well that they can even fool with a microscope. Do you really think a real live moving screeching dinosaur, possibly the only one on the planet wouldn't sell for billions of dollars on its own? The genetic material that it carries with it would be a potential Treasure Trove for whatever purpose somebody want to use it for, either for hunting or for a meat product or for military. And just the novelty of owning your own T-Rex, Michael Jackson had giraffes and monkeys, I can imagine somebody with billions of dollars like George Lucas spending uneasily 250 million to have a T-Rex roaming around Skywalker Ranch! And he's a somewhat sane billionaire. Think of what someone like Trump would do. That's why I 250 million or 120 million dollars is such a stupidly minimalistic amount of money for even one dinosaur, let alone the entire collection for the whole auction. It's like the Austin Powers joke where dr. Evil was frozen for 30 years so when he threatens to blow up the world unless less he's given *ONE MILLLLLLION DOLLARS* ! All the world leaders all chuckle and basically want to pull out their checkbooks. Until he raised it to 100 billion dollars and finally got their attention. Not to get too meta, but if Disney can make a *billion* dollars by making a really bad Star Wars movie, why wouldn't something as incredible as a dinosaur be worth more than a billion just by itself? Let alone all of them. I guess little kids might be able to think that $120 million is a lot of money and that's why they went with something so stupid. They might as well have said *eleventeen thousand* dollars. Because this movie is aimed at 5 year olds. I mean currently, extremely rich people will pay millions to go hunt lions, tigers and elephants in Africa, but the money is then used by the Africans to maintain the large conservation areas and finances the care of the animals on the reserves and actually allow the animals to breed in safety (so the hunters are actually saving the animals). But the point is they're spending Millions right now to hunt animals that were not brought back from Extinction! Pretty much every living person has seen a real elephant at a zoo most likely. So the money just doesn't make any sense in the context of how important and rare and completely unique these animals are. It really undermines the already thin plot of the movie.

The idea of Maisie being a clone is an interesting development of the franchise and has been part of the lore since the first BOOK. Lockwood is a character in the book as well - but with a different name which I can't remember - and the idea of human clones has been present many times within the books. Maisie being a clone is a representation of the line "you can't put it [genetic power] back in the box" and in the world of these movies (and our world) i doubt that they'd only use cloning for dinosaurs when human clones or cloned body parts can be used for medical reasons. As for this movie "messing" with the lore of the franchise, it doesn't. With Ellis Mills saying that Lockwood had different intentions with his and Hammonds power, which eventually drove them both apart - this would've happened in the late 80s with Hammond taking most of their cloning equipment leaving Lockwood with practically none of it, which is why the girl is only young - he had to have the equipment to do it, and when he did, he cloned her. Also, the basement has been part of the house since it's original design as Mills says that that lab is where "it all began".

People keep complaining about why they're so dumb to make a theme park after the disaster of the original film, but here's the thing. If there are billions of dollars to be made, someone will do it. Our entire history reflects how we keep making the same mistakes regardless of the risks to human life. There's also an interesting meta angle to this. If the big blockbuster makes money, the studios will keep churning out sequels even if they're bad. Think Transformers hahahahah and I'm guessing for some people, the Jurassic World franchise. As for saving the dinos. Millions of people (inside the movie world) have seen them. While it seems dumb for us the audience, we are disconnected from the reality of the film. It seems very plausible that animal rights activists will organize to protect dinos if they existed. Look at how they react in real life. When some dude on safari shoots an animal and posts a pic, there's outrage. They got worked up when Assassin's Creed video game had whale hunting. A video game !! Also, I buy that Clair would want to save them. She feels guilty for exploiting them for money and now she feels she's making up for it. That's her character arc. She didn't see them as animals at first but end of Jurassic World she realizes that. Owen doesn't believe in the cause but he just wants to save Blue because he loves her and has a special connection. I'd say that's proper character motivation to get us invested in the two main characters.

Absolutely agree with you... people will pay out the nose when the new 7 bladed razer comes out and companies will be following up with the 8 blade razer. Would have liked to see Hammond's nephew/niece/grandchildren from the first movie... oh well.

The problem with the first Jurassic World is that everyone is a thundering dumbass. In real life no one would makes the decisions in that film.
@TheMovieslingers
@TheMovieslingers 6 лет назад
well ..... people will make stupid decisions when they panic (like when a giant meat-eating dino is hunting them down) or when they get too greedy to have the sense to stop (making the dinos "cooler" with hybrid predator traits) ..... I'm sure you could think of at least a few people in the real world who would make those same decisions LoL

Serious question: did anybody else notice how many times they did a last minute sweeping save? Heroes about to be eaten by a dinosaur...sweeping in trex. Heroes about to be shot....sweeping in raptor. Sweeping in blue, trex again, jesus enough with the last second saves!
@FJAR1635

DrViperVideos And to add to that: I know Spielberg gave the T-Rex ninja powers to sneak up without being heard in the first film. However, seeing that same trope repeated in literally every single installment is tiresome.

It's called lazy writing. They took every single scene people liked and remember from the first movie, and put it in this one as well. The raptor 's claw tapping on the floor, the raptor's shadow on the wall, the raptor opening the door, the girl desperately trying to close the slide door, the Brachiosaurus on his hind feet, the beforementioned T-Rex saving the day and roaring... And the things they DID come up with were terrible. A laser guided dinosaur? A pet velociraptor? A Stygimoloch that can break the right walls on command? Dinosaurs as combat animals? There's only so much stupidity I can take and this movie was on an entire new level of stupidity.

@filthyneutral5801
@filthyneutral5801 6 лет назад
Abner Chilson I feel that they needed to add that because the little girl clone releasing the dinos is the only thing that would've made sense (at least in this version of the screenplay)
@lordhentatsu2838

What's the big deal with the girl being a clone? I mean they cloned dinosaurs back to life, cloning a human is a piece of cake
@Abnarly
@Abnarly 6 лет назад
Lord Hentatsu Nonono that's not Jurassic park/world, it was all supposed to be about dinosaurs not humans, this is wrong.
@lordhentatsu2838
@lordhentatsu2838 6 лет назад
Abner Chilson yes and no, JP is about dinosaurs partially but the real message of the story is the abuse of genetic power, humans trying to play god and the consequences of it

I went into this film with the lowest expectations possible, and i walked out satisfied. I liked it for what it was, It had some good moments and was for the most part entertaining. I completely understand your point though. It doesn't really feel like a Jurrasic Park/World film, more like a monster film which happens to contain dinosaurs. But hey, I liked The Last Jedi so I guess my taste in movies is just bad.

Spoiler alert: it was a silly, fun movie but my favorite moment was Blue realizing the gas canister is about to explode and she screams and runs for her life, crashing out a window in a lab. Really thought Blue was the best character it had going for it lol. Awesome moment anywho 🦖

My question is how does Blue know the gas is flammable? CAN SHE READ??? These raptors shouldn’t know how these things work because they’ve never been near them, but for some reason she does. I don’t get it

Why are nods or "callbacks" as you put them bad? I like when they do that stuff. They do it in alot of movies. I feel like it is for the fans and i really appreciate it

I think it has more to do with "How dare to reference that, in a dark period like this" factor (AKA reference to good movie in a bad movie is insulting)
@Nick-___-
@Nick-___- 4 года назад
Because it's so unoriginal. Seeing moments like that just makes you go "Oh! I remember that moment in the last movie!" but it does nothing for the plot and is just making a reference to a past better movie, instead of making it's own cool ORIGINAL moment.

@@matthewmunday7435 Yeah sure, it definitely did but think about the scene where it stands up as it is dying. That's meant to be like a huge emotional moment in the story, but they just threw a call back into it and it's very distracting for some people, myself included. I get that it doesn't bother you though and I wish I was the same instead of being so cynical

I think it would have been better to spend the first half or more on them catching the Dino's on the island. Lol I wanted to see more of that. The the second half or the final third can be about them escaping onto the mainland.

I know this video is old now but I have to point out that yes Site B is a volcanic island this is mentioned out loud by Peter Ludlow in the Lost World that the communications building runs on geothermal power. Not to mention that Jurassic Park lore has poaching vessels spotted around the island.
