Dealing with the public these days takes some special fortitude. Power to you for the patience you have under circumstances like this. I could never do it.
The guy was so arrogant for stealing the man's tips. I would have had him arrested. physically removed by a police officer after showing the film clip to both the customer and the cops.
I worked at a restaurant that had an all you can eat buffet on thursdays. A woman comes in and loads up two plates. After a couple minutes a guy comes in and sits with her, helping himself to the extra plate of food she had gotten. The waitress brought each of them a bill and the lady starts arguing saying she was only sharing her food with him. We finally had to call the police, who made her and the guy each pay. She and the guy were told don’t come back. Ya see it all in the food business…..
Once sold an uber hot chick a soda, she was my only customer and I chatted her up a bit while I gave her change for the ten she handed me. She looked at me funny and asked where the rest of her money is, because she insisted she gave me a twenty. Problem is she was my first customer of the day, my starting drawer doesn't even come with twenties. B***h gets my manager involved, and she even demanded I empty my pockets like I pulled some slight of hand BS. After I did my manager had my back and politely told her sorry, have a nice day and she stormed out.
Some ppl are committed to make life Harder & Misunderstanding others & Attempting to get over on them, Always a Sight👀 to see those tryna exploit others get put in there Place 💯, I got accused 1 or Twice of stealing some sunglasses 🕶️😎 from a store🏪, Cause some Jerkoff Guy was walking around being in the Manager Ear 👂 like they were Butt Buddies, Think he even threw a dollar 💰 on the floor, Dude legit tried to frame me for taking some Glasses 😎🕶️, Which I didn't take & even if I did get some glasses 🕶️ I would have no Problem Paying for them($), Sorry you had to experience ppl like that 💯.
@@arfriedman4577 Exactly, l learned to always repeat out loud how much they give you. Thank God cash is almost gone. I'm not happy that it is, however for this reason, l am.
I have a somewhat similar story back when I worked in retail. This lady came up to the desk, phone glued to her ear and can't even spare me a hello or anything. She talked more on the phone for a bit before addressing me, then she bought a money order. Then after that she asked to buy a $10 lottery ticket and gave me a $10 bill. While this was happening, she continued to talk on the phone. Then she looked at me after saying something, and I said "Sorry, are you talking to me?" And she said yeah I gave you a $20, can I get my change. I told her she gave me a $10 bill, not a $20. She then stood there frozen in thought for like 15 seconds and then walked away, phone still glued to her ear without saying another word to me. I swear, some people literally cannot go 2 minutes without their phone.
Had a Manager tell me long ago, "The worst thing about retail is the customer, Then the Employees! " So True. I always said It depends on which one you are.
I run /owner of a restaurant and employees in the front of the house are always instructed to leave the bill on top of the tray, then give their change then put the money away. You do that, the likelihood of anyone claiming you gave him/her/it the wrong change is almost impossible. Follow those steps and this won't happen again.
Karen’s have been around for decades, I remember a friend’s wife who made life miserable for anyone who served them in any restaurant situation and it got to the point that nobody would go to dinner with them out of potential embarrassment and this was the early 80s and to this day doesn’t think she did anything wrong
A lot of people that own stores have never worked a single hard day in their life. They should be required as owners to work on the lowest rank of employment for a few days at least a couple months out of the year to see what their employees go through!
Man, luckily I never had to ban or see someone banned from the Subway I used to work at. It is a little nostalgic watching your Subway videos even if i wouldn't go back from working IT. lmao
The last story reminds me of an instance Fred Deluca wrote in his book about how he went off on employees at one of their locations without asking why the store was a hot mess.
As a former delivery driver, I understand your frustration. People can be a pain and will gaslight the hell out of you for the sake of feeling right and dominant. But at the end of the day, their problem is not yours, which is a great thing to consider.
Strange how you pick up the whole sandwich to transfer it to the wrapping paper, up here in Canada we just use the parchment paper and wrap that in with the actual wrapping. Makes it neater when you unwrap and easier to wrap it back up because you have the parchment paper to collect and veggies, sauce that spilled out.
People that act out like this have something lacking in their lives and want to take it out on what they feel is an easy target just because they're paying for something.
You still touch the meat then, touch the cheese and put the contaminated cheese back in the bin for the next person?!! What if the next person is vegetarian!!!!
if you want to learn how to hate people, work in the customer service industry. To Quote Randal from Clerks - "This would be a great job if were not for the F#@&ing customers" = 100% gospel truth there.
On the topic of getting banned from places, I have a friend who got banned from a Dick’s Sporting Goods because he tackled a manikin and was chased out of the store. He ran down the road a few stores over to make sure he got away.
I met Fred in Chicago and had dinner with him. He was a super nice guy. My friend’s girlfriend at the time worked for Subway corporate after college and still stayed in touch with him.
A few years ago a guy I know was banned from going through the drive thru at all the local restaurant. He would go through the drive through and get his food. He then would storm into the restaurant and claim that they left out one of his food items. Then, he would ask for a refund or an extra of whatever he said was left out. After a few times of doing this, he finally got banned from the restaurants.
I worked at Subway years ago when I was 19 and had a woman get rude with me. It was a Sunday night, customers lined up to the door, and of course I'm the only one working. I'm making the sandwiches as fast as I can. She's snarky with me a few times and I say to her, "if you think I'm not doing a good enough job, then come on around here and help me." The rest of the customers clapped lol.
You have to frequently empty the tip jar. That way if a thief dips into your jar, they take only a portion. Another reason, if you frequently empty your jar, it will come across like nobody is tipping. This will guilt the customer into giving a larger tip.
as a former subway customer i always got the chicken bakon raench witch was so good to be honest they mixed ranch with mayonaise and now that was some good sauce tbh i asked them to do it they always would and it was the most greatest sauce e v e r
I work at Subway. Have for 2 plus years and love watching your videos. Slicer secret...you only have to hit the carriage button for the blade and carriage to go :)
One thing I really wish Subway would do again is bring back the old way they cut the bread. The "U" Gouge. It was cut down each side of the bread, if you held the bread up and looked through it, it looked like a U shape or a gutter in a bowling alley. They then put in the cheese first, then meat, then sauces, then the veggies. Then the top peice which was about 2 inch wide was put on top. This made all the stuff stay inside the sandwich and was way better. I have stopped going to Subway except in a rare occasion because of that. Everything now is upside down when they put it on sandwich, and everything falls off as you eat it now. It is to much trouble to try to explain to them to make it the old way. They never know what you are talking about when you explain the cut. Also if you tell them to put cheese and meat of bottom of bun instead of top they still try to do it wrong. I got sick of trying so basically stopped going to Subway.
Years ago i had just started dj. I was young and in college. I didnt get to do some things yet, whe a man comes over and tells me hes the dj club teacher from my former hs and why i didnt do this and that. I did learn a few things from him but his attitude was terrible.
I saw a guy off the rails at a subway because he was asked what he wanted on his sub. He wanted what was on the menu, so the subway guy put what was on the menu, then he ask if he'd like anything else on it. Flew off the rails again and started cussing the guy out for minutes and then stormed out the door yelling that the guy couldn't just give him what was on the menu. It was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. He got in a big expensive truck and peeled out of the parking lot. There were two subway employees and 3 or 4 of us customers in there. None of us could figure out what in hell was going on.
one time i went to subway and it was super busy and i ordered a pretty elaborate sub but when she went to put the pepper on my sandwich the lid popped off and she poured a ton of pepper on my sandwich, the lady looked terrified and started apologizing and she looked like she was about to cry, so i said it was fine and to just keep going so she wrapped up my sub i paid for it and gave them a 25% tip, and honestly i really enjoyed my pepper sandwich
Imagine getting banned from at least one (sometimes more than one) restaurant or store. Do you just go home at night, and you sit there like "Yup. I'm completely in the right for how I acted. Everyone else was in the wrong." Like, how do you function being that irritable all the time? How does your body not just shut down from that much constant negativity? You just get mildly inconvenienced and decide that's the hill you're going to die on every single time. Whether you get yelled back at, banned, even arrested in some cases you see. It's mind-boggling that people that insane exist.
Stupidest is a word. Use it. Love it. Live it. Also why do some of the most awful people in existence I've ever seen just happen to also love Subway? I can't tell you how many times I've been in line and in awe of the horrible treatment these employees endure.
The unfortunate truth is that, many (not all) customers who patronize establishments with quick, cheap food like Subway- often treat the employees like absolute garbage . They wouldn’t act like that in a high end steakhouse.
I got banned from a subway. My friends and I stopped at one after clubbing one night so we were the only ones there. I was messing with the chick making my sandwich, so she told me to just make it myself. So I went behind the counter and made my own monstrosity of a sandwich. She let us have our food for free. We went in the same store the next weekend and the owner was behind the counter. She had been fired and he told us not to come back.
As a vegetarian, I'd suggest you switch your gloves after preparing your meat sandwiches & before you handle the veggies, or start with the veggies ones ! You might be a good Subway restaurant, but that's total contempt for all vegetarians & vegans out there.
Went to subway today. Wanted a Meatball Marinara: They had no meatballs Then wanted a breakfast sub: They had no sausage patties Then they proceeded to toast the sandwich for like 3 seconds so it was still cold, and im pretty sure half the ingredients were rlly old (the bacon smelt funny). Oh and the hash browns were stale. Paid £8 for that soggy, cold mess.
When I stayed in London years ago, the subway sandwiches were so thin it was ridiculous. Hardly anything on the bread! And of course not cheap either. Worst subways ever.
My mom at a vintage store with me I asked what was in the clear plastic Lego bag she ripped it open and a employee ran over here and yelled at her for opening it and I don’t want to get into it but they yelled and blah blah blah so she banned herself another employee was very nice and said you don’t have to never come back if you want. My mom said no! And she banned herself
working customer service jobs is diffcult. entitled customers and rude customers just affects. It's not an easy job when someone yells at you and nothing you can do because you want to keep your job
WtF? I've been to Subway maybe 30 - 40 times in my lifetime. Every experience was the same. They asked what I wanted, I told them, then I paid and left. Pretty cookie cutter experience.
Sorry I won't be sticking to the topic deal with it because I need to know. What are those giant pepperonis you put on the sandwich? They can't be pepperoni because it's huge but it looks like pepperoni
Because of how much BS customer service people have to put up with, I go out of my way to be extra pleasant, courteous and thankful to workers. Make it your goal to make people's day with kindness. You never know when someone will make your day when you need it the most.
I would've not confront Todd, let his butt eat his sandwiches, and call the cops and let them deal with it. And I ain't no snitch. A snitch is if Todd's wife calls the cops on him. If they treat me like trash, and stole from from my store, they're getting arrested.
If someone steals from your tip jar and you have video evidence, just call the cops. It's only a petty theft, but if they bother to come, you get to ban them, get the money back, and make an example all in one
I've worked at 4 different Subways over the course of several years. The first three were average, run of the mill Subways in decent neighborhoods. The 4th one was a high traffic location on a busy street in a lower income neighborhood, and at that Subway, your three customers would be an average Tuesday. If you all think this is bad, this is nothing. Ever been robbed by someone with a gun? I have! Ever have someone refusing to pay and threaten you with violence if you don't hand over their sandwich? I have! Ever have your co-workers break your phone in front of you cause they didn't want to work? I have! I could fill a 10 hour video with horror stories. Tip your sandwich artists. They're putting their lives on the line for abusive customers and managers. Think I'm joking? Go to the Subway in the shittiest part of your town and ask them.
