Karl's greatest skill is his ability to not break that stone serious, somber-yet-contemplative, slightly down-trodden facial expression while streaming the craziest bullshit you've ever heard straight from his brain to his lips without any hint of self-filter whatsoever. I love this man. Karl Pilkington is Ricky Gervais' greatest comedic achievement.
@@AutomaticDuck300 gervais is an incredible comedian, what? His portrayal of Brent alone is better than most other comedians, some of his stand up is absolutely genius also. It’s his delivery and a subtlety that gets massively overlooked
One of the Karls best joke was on visiting the Taj Mahal....the guide tells the Emperor built it after death of his wife in memory of her.... To which Karl replies that his uncle always wanted a big plasma TV....but his wife didn't allow him to buy....then the wife died and uncle brought the tv....so similarly Taj was something the Man always wanted but his wife didn't allow....
Legit would, of course you'd have the pillow deflated most , hang on, just have the pillow in a normal pocket until you need it, OK, nevermind im out 🤦🤣
@@chi-canyoubelieveiti like how Karl walked into the wall, that was commitment to the sales process.. the pilko pump pants would be great for when I'm out sitting on rocks watching the wildlife here in Scotland.. i hope you have a good one.. thanks for what you do with cheering up our days.. i try to help people a bit but never had the promotional skills really but thanks for cheering us up
@@greenbanana1001 it's never been properly confirmed but it seems so yes, I think Stephen merchant got jealous of Ricky's eventual big success and the two of them kinda fell out, Karl just got tired of doing this stuff though cos that's who he is, it was never gona be a long term thing, when they started ricky and Steve were only locally known and Karl was just their radio producer, once rick got more famous it was bound to finish
I really miss The Ricky Gervais Show. It was on late night just as I was passing out, and I could watch the animations or drift off and just listen, so it was visual and audio. Their bonkers conversations with Karl were so funny and surreal. I know Ricky decided to bring it to an end as he said it was money for old rope, but I always felt it was something that could be rested and returned to when Ricky, Steve and Karl had more to talk about. Seeing them here makes me hope they'll get the band back together.
Steve and Karl said the same thing: the radio show/podcast ended cos they ended up talking the same old crap, but after nearly 10 years since the last one, surely its time for a reunion??
How's that quick wit? Karl's the one that set up the enite joke, all Steve said did is repeat an item. If Stephen thinks he's smarter than Karl, he's delusional. Karl always proves Stephen wrong on the spot, but karl knows how to play his part.
I have completed every single Karl Pilkington video on the internet and I cannot believe this is the first time I have seen this!! What an amazing man 😂😂 can’t believe he actually got around to inventing something!!!
I was chuckling along and laughing, but after "Football" 6:40 I suffered a convulsive fit of laughter, tears gushing, wheezing uncontrollably, right to the end of the video. Pure genius. Just brilliant.
He's way more intelligent than the average person. He is extremely curious about the world and questions everything. However, he has absolutely no pretention and has very little ambition...yet he still became a cult figure, so says a lot about him. The fact people think he could genuinely be an idiot is hilarious. I mean, think of the last innovative/creative observation you made. The shit he comes up with requires a LOT of creative thought.
I think it is a little bit of both. Ricky trained him in improv during the XFM days. I think some of things Karl talks about he knows is funny and so he goes with it. Remember all TV, radio, podcasts etc are an act. It would be boring if they weren't an act. Ricky's genius was taking Karl's strange view of the world and making it an act but also making it sound spontaneous at the same time. Listen to the stories in the Ricky Gervais Show (the animated one) and then listen to the same story told during the XFM days. The story is the same, it is just more refined in the podcasts and the animated series. This is just my opinion.
I would’ve loved to see this idea come to life!! Tbh anythin karl touches turns to gold so I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually did double his money!

I filmed wildlife on the mountains in Scotland. I had to sit perfectly still for hours on end. My arse and knees were frozen solid. I knocked together a tiny cushion fashioned from masking tape and foam - just to keep my arse off the ground. The Pilko Pump Pants were exactly what I needed in that situation. I would buy a pair tomorrow given half the chance !
As someone that likes to hike and sit in the woods, these are unironically a great idea. You could just put the pillow in your backpack until you need it, or if you’re brave, just wear it looking like a tw*t 😂
Most people hiking through the forest wearing all that gear, roll mats hanging from their massive rucksack and a walking stick in both hands, already look like a twat lol
It's thrilling to me that Karl's idea of "diversified investment" is just throwing money in random directions and hoping to randomly get a million from somewher
Welcome to Bulgaria guys, I'm sure you going to love it. We have fabolous nature, beautiful cities, it's quiet and relaxing. Most of the people are too busy to be pissed off to the government regularly, but that shouldn't scare you at all, we are very kind and polite. Great video! :))
Years ago Ricky started publically humiliating Karl for kicks. But Karl has proven himself to be worthy of respect for his resilience. The jokes on you Ricky.
Oh dear. You really, honestly, genuinely don't know that this is a scripted show and that Karl is part of the act? I'm stunned. The joke, it seems, is in fact on you. Lol
@@kairigby9117 Lol no jokes on you! If you know/understand Karl then you know Karl is just being Karl, that's why he's so consistent. Now, of course he knows he's working with comedians and putting on a comedy show, but the best part though, unlike other comedy shows that try too hard to be funny is that Karl is just funny. No script required. Check him out on his unscripted reality shows and long-form serious interviews, that is just how his mind works.
@@blobcity3591 Actually Karl is only in on it to an extent. He doesn't like constantly being portrayed as the "idiot". That is why he quit An Idiot Abroad and did The Moaning of Life instead on his own terms. If you've watched both shows then you'll notice that they're both very very similar shows BUT two important things are very different. 1) As you can tell there is no mention of "idiot" in the title or description of the show at all 2) Ricky and Steve are not in it and are not there to constantly treat him like an idiot or make fun of him. In The Moaning of Life he is just about a curious traveller checking out new places. The devil is in the details.
