Thanks. The trip back was much worse because I had a south wind I had to fight to get back.

Thank-you. It's hard to say where life will take you. But yeah this fishing isn't for everyone (anyone? 😂 ).

Fantastic session Brett. This is something I dream of, just pull out somewhere with the kayak and start catching one big fish after another from the bottom haha. Great variety and congrats on new species!

Thank-you. The Washington coasts are just that. Lots of pull offs and the highway is 50 yards from the water. Lots of good fish and all sorts of structure from kelp beds to rocks to mud flats.

Nice turn out! It's gotta be great when you've got the grounds figured out. Pedaling to new spots really far out is very difficult to me.
@PeelingLine
@PeelingLine Год назад
Me too. The next day I am really sore. But its more sitting on the kayak for so long than from pedaling.

You ate that last wave. 💦 Its quite a workout to get out there. 2 hrs? The boat guy was probably thinkin your an extreme kayaker. Cool the swells do the jigging for you. All nice fish, Brett 👍🏻 The skate is unique looking. The yellow eye bright color screams eat me 😋
@PeelingLine
@PeelingLine Год назад
Thank-you. I sure did eat it. It was more work coming back because I had to fight the wind. Wish we could eat the yelloweye. I think they may be federally protected even down to California.

@@PeelingLine I see. Save the fishies 🐟 I noticed many strict regulations in CA. I guess Washington State is strict too.
@PeelingLine
@PeelingLine Год назад
@@siralbertus I think washington is more strict. You need an app here to fish and check the regulations before you go out because they will change things over night.
@siralbertus
@siralbertus Год назад
@@PeelingLine Thats pretty strict man. I do dislike the way CA parks charge you for the opportunity to do fishing, and thats on top of paying for the fishing license AND the entrance fee already 😮
@PeelingLine
@PeelingLine Год назад
@@siralbertus It's the same here. To park it's $10 / time or $30 for the year.

I liked the Halibut you had would of been a nice keeper. You had some nice baby yelloweye too the only yelloweye I've seen in Puget sound were huge 20 to 30 pounds never caught small ones. How deep you going for them? Going through the surf looked a little wet. Nice video Brett.
@PeelingLine
@PeelingLine Год назад
Thank-you. I kind of regret not keeping it but getting 2 new species definitely makes up for it. I was pushed up onto the rocks by the wind in the end and was only fishing less than 100 feet up to 40. I would love to catch a 20 /30 pounder. Maybe next time I go to California and do some deep dropping. My dry suit keeps me dry but does nothing for my face. 😂

Looking for a spot to catch a halubit in nea bay any tips on where to go
@PeelingLine
@PeelingLine Месяц назад
The store by the launch will give you a list of coordinates to try if you ask. I'd try the garbage dump. You can try just below tatoosh or swiftsure. Also just outside the harbor has them. It's just luck if you'll get one. They are biting around there from what I've seen of people posting and the creel reports.
