General manager Kent Hughes addresses the media on Monday to discuss the new eight-year contract signed by Juraj Slafkovsky and the opening of free agency. SUBSCRIBE: goha.bs/1qHH4pZ
If Demidov reaches his ceiling and becomes a 90+ pts player, we'll have no choice but to pay him more than Suzuki. Same with Hutson if he becomes a top defender.
Very happy with the work this management team is doing. It's just as important to know when to spend as it is to know when not to. They're striking a great balance.
Alex burrow won’t be back behind the bench?!!! That’s the best news of the summer, that’s even better than getting demidov! Now hire an ex talented player for the power play
I would fire the agent if I were Slaf. For 8 years be making less than Suzuki and Caufield is an insane good deal for the team overall. This contract will be a great deal before it even kicks in, you’ll see
Well thats the advantage of building a team filled with kids with a great personality. Im sure he accepted this contract because he genuinely enjoys playing on this team
Shows that he doesn't care only about the money. He gets paid sooner so he can start investing, and set his family up for generations and he can focus on the only thing he cares about. WINNING. I bet his agent is the one that's upset lol
Nice job and this youth is looking to build a winning team. For them to all take that 8 million range speaks to their desire to be in Montreal and win!
The biggest reason was getting Michkov out of Russia in a timely manner. At the time no one knew it could be done...hence Habs passing on him and choosing the best dman in the draft Reinbacher. Besides everything I've read/se en on Demidov shows me he's the better player over Michkov. Only time will tell
@johnsparkman2007 Ya, I'm really happy that we have Demidov but imagine if we had Michkov too? It is what it is I guess, we'll see in the coming years who will end up being the better player. There might be a rivalry between Montreal and Philadelphia too both having the best young Russians in the league.
@@johnsparkman2007that is not the reason, top russian talent almost always come to the nhl. Habs just did not want him, its been covered in a few articles from mtl journalists.
@@SlickSwamsky Not the way I remember it. At the time it was reported that it would take 2-3 years for Michkov to come to North America AND the fact that Michkov didn't want to play in Montreal not the other way around.
@@DarthMaster09 Demidov will be in Montreal Sept. 14-15? for prospect challenge games with the Leafs at the Bell Center. Happy that we'll get a chance to see how good he is..👍
No. The point of how we've been building this team is that we want young guys with great personalities that makes it fun to play with each others. So why would we ever want to go for Pinto when he has already shown he's problematic
Demidov will do his 3 years entry level contract starting likely next year meaning 3 years before extension is even a consideration. If he's killing it he'll definitely be getting more than Nick until Nick's contract is reviewed and renewed
Shut up le hater.
