What temp did you put the instant pot on I know it’s says low but idk what that is I’m trying to make meals for my wife she’s a Leto person and I want to surprise her lol
Thanks for the recipe. I been on a low card keto for 5 weeks and I already loss 35 LBS. Mississippi pot roast is my favorite keto meal that I eat at least twice a week.
@@Mark-pz3lq it's def possible. And everyone is different. I lost 15 in almost 3weeks in a month contest. 17 total. And I wasn't even doin keto. Just low carbs. When u treat your body right it will shed fat .. but again everyone's body hormones, etc are different.
@ shirley Yes, I know what you mean and I was wondering about the liquid as well. After all the Instant Pot needs liquid, or it will not be able to build up pressure. It needs at least 1 cup of water or other liquid. Maybe the butter functioned as such? I am confused here. I guess she forgot to mention to put in water for the gravy? Oh well, I'll just experiment and put in 1 cup of water anyway. 😉
I’ve used beef bullion paste too and it’s way less carbs than au jus. I also usually cut the butter by 1/3 and it’s still good!! I’m thinking you could probably even use half the butter and be fine.
I was about to make this recipe until we got to the insulin-spiking ingredients. McCormick Au Jus contains dextrose, corn syrup solids, hydrolyzed corn, and corn starch. Powdered ranch dressing isn't much better. I will definitely try the pressure cooked pot roast idea though - looks great!
I suppose it depends on how much you plan to eat at a time I only plan to eat 3 oz at a time so I don't see those ingredients being an issue. I'll do glucose monitoring both before or after to be sure
@@cmejias44 cook about 4 hrs for 3-4 lb roast. Cook longer for a real tender for a tender roast that falls apart. It really depends on how much the roast weighs. You can Google cook times fir the cut of the roast.
I eat gluten-free keto (found out I have a mild gluten allergy), and the au jus gravy packets always have gluten in them. *But*, if that's you, you can find a recipe for substitution seasonings online, OR it is actually just as flavorful without it! This is one of my favorite things to eat!!
Love all your videos and recipes! One word of advise...wash hands after touching the meat 🥩 and before dipping hand in salt jar to avoid contamination ✨💕🙏🏻💕✨
Those packets and the peppercinis have so much salt already no need to salt the meat! And make sure to rinse your meat beforehand!!! Also, not totally necessary to sear the meat unless you want to for the extra flavor. I've made this several times and it's already so much salt I've cut back on adding the whole packet of each seasoning *if you cook the meat alone. 8-10 hours in the slow cooker on low. Happy eating!
Myra, I just made this pot roast and it is the most tasty roast I have ever eaten my husband is going on and on about it we do purchase grass fed beef from a farmer market. I used my Ninja Foodi on the pressure cooker setting for one hour my sirloin tip roast fell apart like your chuck did.. I am a lady in my seventys and known to be a good cook from family and friends you have bet me out on this dish cannot wait to try many more. I went grocery shopping today and purchased items needed for your recipes God Bless so happy I found you on my Keto journey
Hey Myra! This is the best pot roast I've ever fixed! I did add my garlic and onion powder to the roast and it was so delicious! Thanks for this recipe 😊
Mayra, this looks delicious. Thank you! But I was very surprised that you added the McCormick Au Jus Gravy Mix and the Hidden Valley Ranch dressing packet - not so much because of any added carbs which were small as much as because of the chemicals and preservatives. Is it normal and recommended to do this on Keto? I am just very confused. Thank you!
Been making that for years. I use 1 stick of butter instead on 1/2, pour the entire jar of pepperoncini including the juice. When it's done, put in a couple of bags of cauliflower rice when you shred it and cook for another 30 minutes. I also don't bother browning the meat. Put extra into mason jars and freeze for later. Love this!
I use... 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can of beef broth and 1 packet of dry Lipton onion mix with a chopped sweet onion on top of the beef. Mix all wet ingredients with packet of onion soup mix together...put your chuck roast with mixture in your crock-pot at 8 o'clock at night. When you wake up....soooo yummy....the smell wakes you up. Its my families favorite for Sunday dinner. I have it cooking for 12 hours. So at night it depends on when I want to eat...we usually have some for breakfast and save for after church...we make French dips or with mash potatoes or for me just a veggie....enjoy
Omgsshhh I'm obsessed with your channel thank you for being authentic and amazing I'm doing a challenge at my house to cook 1 of your recipes once a week for my family and they loved it so far 💕
I just doing keto this and I came your channel. I've been binge watching all of your videos. I had to subscribe because I absolutely loved what I saw and I feel motivated. I'm feeling I can do this. Thank you so much for posting your journey!
I have been making this recipe for about a year and only modified the recipe by adding 3 cloves of garlic pressed or finely chopped, 1/2 cup of liquid beef broth versus the dry gravy packet, more pepperoncini and sliced versus whole, plus 2T of the juice and half of a yellow or white onion thinly sliced. I also cook it in the crockpot for about 6-7 hours to let the flavors marry better than they do in the instant pot...
Can't wait to make this recipe!!! So EASY! If you want a Faux-tato side (and a good potato substitute) - try the Korean Mu or Japanese Daikon. (Most keto-peeps already know, but just in case...) Mu is my favorite (radish) because it's less pepper-y, more meaty and white/green so looks more like a potato. Additionally, closer potato texture and absorbs whatever flavor it's cooked with. I haven't successfully made mashed with it (was too watery still) but fried faux-tato, this would be a perfect compliment!
I'd never used Pepperoncinis in anything but a cracker or a salad. This was great! My husband even liked it. I thought he wouldn't like the peppers but he was sad I only gave him 2.
I cant use the Hidden Valley Ranch packets because I am a type 2 diabetic and it contains maltodextrin which shoots my blood sugar up. Do you know of any substitutions or brands that do not contain maltodextrin? It seems like they shove that crap in everything! ☹
Usually some liquid is added to the pressure cooker. I didn't see any liquid in this recipe, but the finished product did have some liquid in it. Did that all come from the roast?
Making this on Sunday.. You are the only person I follow now for my low carb journey. All your recipes amd snack ideas are things that I actually like and fill me up ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have made it and it is so tasty, I also have made it with Chicken that I enjoy better. You can do any meat. It is to salty for me. I have to watch my salt intake and the packages have a lot of Salt in them, but it is super easy to make.
I love Mississippi Pot Roast. It's actually the only way my family wants it cooked. I never thought about making it in the pressure cooker though. I must try it that way because they usually don't want to wait several hours for it to cook in the crock pot.
Making this in my crockpot RIGHT NOW!!! Has my house smelling glorious!!! Added some xantham gum to the juice from the steak and it served as a fabulous gravy over cauliflower rice!!
I make this often, but I don't even brown it. Just straight into crockpot all same ingredients! Can't tell the difference! New to your website but am obsessed 😍
Just picked up a pot roast and needed a recipe. I thought of your channel first. Will send photo and let you know how it turned out. I appreciate you sharing your recipe and love the channel.
@@carinicole3767 I didn't finish the whole video, if you're referring to a seasoning packet, I don't use pre made packets. I've been cooking for him for 15 yrs I got this ❤️. Thanks
Making it for dinner tonight. I did get the food burn on my instant pot. Had to quick release, open the lid, and added a little bit of beef broth. We'll see how it turns out. Sounds delicious!
Looks so yummy. Request....I don’t know the name but it’s pork, rich in garlic flavor, no hot spice. The pork seems fried? Outside but inside it’s so tender. Served with cooked onions. I love this food! Told it’s Cuban and that is where I buy if, Cuban restaurant. It’s served with black beans, rice and plantains. Do you know how to cook this ! Please help! Thank you.🌺
I am cuban and the dish you are talking about is "Masitas de Puerco" (carnitas is more of a Mexican thing) and yes it's got cooked onions and sometimes a mojo sauce added on top, all served with black beans and rice and platano maduro frito (fried ripe sweet plantains). I live in Miami FL and all the cuban restaurants here serve it. So good, glad u like it😊
@@daisy209 thank you! I live in Deerfield Brach, right below Boca. I could eat this daily. Not kidding. I also love black bean soup and it had a delicious sausage. Your so nice to writeThanks
Our families favorite! I make it at least once a month in the winter months! The same recipe before Keto! I add onions and carrots and potatoes for my family and I eat the caulimash! ❤️❤️❤️
Hey Myra just wanted to say I love this recipe! I am no longer actively doing keto but I enjoyed it while I could and I don’t want to say goodbye to you lol I love your story, personality and cooking videos so I’m happy to see videos that are naturally keto with no substitutions!!! More of that please! 🤗
When I cooked this in the insta pot I kept getting the “food burn” notice due to all the seasoning not being spread out and mixed together better. I’d recommend this in the crock pot or mix the seasonings better if you attempt this in the instapot
One question: do the pepperocini make it spicy? My husband loves them and would eat them straight out of the jar, I find them too spiced. This looks amazing! If I could afford the beef these days I’d make it!
I’ve been making Mississippi roast for a few years and I ❤️❤️❤️ it! I’ve never pressure cooked it though; I always use the Slow Cook mode on my Instant Pot. For the seasoning I use onion soup mix, Fiesta Ranch dip mix, and peppers. No butter, but I may add a few tablespoons next time just to see if it tastes different. As it is, it’s amazeballs! The Fiesta Ranch was an accidental find. I sent my son-in-law to the store for ranch mix and he came back with fiesta. We all liked it and it became the family Mississippi roast recipe 😂
I've made it once with the Instant Pot and many times in a crock pot. I think the crock pot method comes out much better! Cook on low for 8 hours. Delicious.
You left out a VERY important step anytime you are doing a cooking tutorial. You didn’t tell us your Instana Pot setting and how long you cooked it? How are we supposed to replicate this dish without that vital info????
Beautifful, yet I'm not sure it's keto if it has modified food starch, MSG and godnose what else is in those packets? How about just some garlic, salt, pepper and natural spices out of the spice bottle?
For anyone who has never had this before - I pity you. One of the best things you'll ever put in your mouth. I had the last of my leftovers just now for lunch. Use a nice, fatty cut like chuck.
@@LowCarbLove I made this. And it was delicious. They didn't even know that beets were in there. Until I told them. I never dream me and my husband is eating beets. Keep coming with more delicious keto recipes. Looking forward to it. Thank u
