Yo yo!! What's going on yall back again for season 5 episode 2. Stayed up all night getting this one done for you guys. Initially, I was planning on putting this out 3 days ago but Hogwarts Legacy dropped and honestly I've been spending an unhealthy amount of time on it. But anyways we're here. And Arya is back with Jaqen. Super excited to find out what's gonna happen with her. Also Khaleesi really bugged out. Killing that kid was 100% not what she should've done. At least Drogon is back...
Other than that, Jon became lord commander, and Brienne missed her chance with Sansa. Overall a pretty good episode. Anyways yall imma go get a couple hours sleep before Aaron and I record episode 3! We will see you all then!! pce

I don’t think Brienne is stupid, I just think she’s a little too forward. Someone like Littlefinger is going to be able to convince others because he can change his skin like a lizard. But yeah, it was going to take more than just going up to Sansa or Arya and expecting them to trust her after everything they’ve seen. “Your Grace” gives the same vibes as “jamieee” If you go back and watch episode 9 of season 1, Arya slices a pigeon right before Ned dies. Kind of funny it happens twice. Edit: worse, she actually twisted its neck! I honestly can’t say whether that guy deserved death or not, but Daenerys definitely shouldn’t have executed him in front of everyone. Bad move.

You were ok when Robb Stark executed Karstark for killing the Lannister boys. But now you’re not ok with Dany doing it. Just pointing out how this show makes you question your perspective depending on who is committing a particular act.

The law was well-established in Westeros. In Mereen, the ruler was the law and there was a brand new ruler. Every punishment doesn't have to be death, and there was an opportunity for education there. Karstark knew what he was doing wasn't lawful; it's easy to understand how Mossandor could have been confused about the rules.

@@whendays659 I don't see how Mossandor would be confused. As you say, the new ruler makes the rules and Dany was a new ruler. He was not the new ruler, she was and she did not sentence the death (as yet). Mossandor took it upon himself to kill someone. It's more likely that Mossander wanted to exact his revenge and assumed Dany would show him mercy. She put him on her "small council" and he betrayed her trust.

He had clear instructions and went on a vengeance mission. Dany has very clear that she answers “injustice with justice” and justice is what she deems.

Dany was in the right there. she needs to stablish that the law is up to everyone. she freed the slaves, banished slavery and punished the masters for it, but that doesn't mean the former slaves are in the right to commit crimes. the former masters despise her and the former slaves adore her, but if the law only benefit those who are convenient for her, then it would be a broken system, city and she would be a tyrant. the former master was going to receive a fair trial cause Dany didn't know what crimes he had commit, and as for the former slave, he admitted that he killed a man. the law is the law.

Daenerys’ choice was a hard one it’s the same one that Robb made and it led to his inevitable death as soon as he beheaded Karstark his men left the army so he went to the Freys for an army but they wanted a new marriage since they didn’t get their initial one and that ultimately led to the red wedding

The scene of Arya killing a pigeon is a neat callback IMO to S1E9 (Baelor) when Arya tried to trade a freshly hunted pigeon for a lemon cake…right before Ned loses his head 🗡️😖 And I don’t agree with making a public spectacle out of k!lling Mossador (the guy who k!lls the Son of the Harpy) but what else was Daenerys supposed to do with him, give him a trial? Lock him up forever? She shoulda fed him to her dragons! Osha, Rickon & Shaggydog were going to try to get to the Last Hearth, the castle owned by the Umbers

In the books, all Jon wanted to be legitimized as Jon Stark and Lord of Winterfell. The show doesn’t do as good a job at depicting how much he truly wanted this. He wanted the name Stark more than anything.

The difference is Robb and Ned don’t make the laws of Westeros, they just follow them. Robb you can debate more because he was a king, but you know Ned was always just following the rules. Daenerys is the one that now makes the rules, so she could’ve maybe given that man a trial or imprisoned him before executing him in front of his own people. Robb did that same thing and we saw how that turned out.

Dany actually got it right this time. That wasn't a kid but a young man that CONFESSED to murder. This wasn't a personal slight or part of the game. But the law even if it didn't help her reign. Former slaves aren't right all the time just because bad things happened to them in the past. But most viewers see Dany as the savior just like the slaves & if she isn't 100% on "their side" even when they are WRONG they turn on her and discard her because they are hypocrites - they don't want freedom & impartial justice, they just want revenge. When Dany falls back into "fire & blood" it can be successful in Essos, but that doesn't mean its right which is why Westeros doesn't want another dragon ruler.

Not really. Cersei is the daughter of the richest man in the realm. She grew up like that. Knew she would be married to the crown prince if her father, The Hand, got his way. Eventually was married to the King. Cersei doesn't have to fight to survive. She is one of the most privileged women in the kingdom. Of course that doesn't mean she has ultimate freedom, she is still "just" a woman after all. But she is not in any dire need to fight to survive. She is like that because that's her personality, her choicee, her internalization of Tywin's own cruelty, and perhaps lack of a stronger female role model (even when Joanna was alive she still acted up). Remember, this is the woman who as a young girl pushed her "friend" down a well to die.

Neither Rob nor Ned where in a position as powerful as Khaleesi... and honestly, looking back at both Rob and Ned- why would we want Khaleesi to make those same mistakes. Shes a truer queen than Stannis or any other man is king, in both blood and heart

And while I agree she shouldn't make the same mistakes robb and Ned made, I think its important to remember that shes battling the insitution of slavery, not just for a kingdom. Her decisions are gonna have to be more black and white and ultimately will have more fallout no matter what she does because of what shes up against. You are right Danaerys has lost her confidence, her dragon dreams and messages from Quaithe never shown and her council from Selmy never shown. Little wonder she botched this up.
