Pretty much. Basically the N64 was VERY 3D focused, and had it's 2D performance suffer. It is kinda like the early 3D accelerator cards that PCs were getting at that time. They didn't even have 2D processing, so you needed to also have a 2D graphics card to handle your Window's interface. That is the reason you don't see many true 2D games on the N64.
Sprites take up a large amount of memory (each frame is individually drawn and stored, unlike 3D objects), which is why 2D games usually suffered that generation, unless you had a Saturn with the RAM expansion.

I agree, although I would rather they just charged me sixty bucks for it and give me a full game. As much as the current model isn't rediculous it's far more laborious to pick and choose conent you want than just buying a game in a series you love.

Keep in mind that the first thing Rare wanted to do after being bought by Microsoft was make a Killer Instinct 3 but the company didn't let them. I think the only reason why they made a new KI game at all was because MS knew their original plan for the XBox One wouldn't get any units sold so KI2013 was a desperate attempt to get sales on their side. Thankfully, it turned out to be a great game but the price is still complete bullshit.
Super60429 Besides the fact that none of that is true at all I don't think you really understand the pricing if you think it's bullshit. 8 characters per season and each season is 20$ thats 40$ for 16 well fleshed out characters plus all the game modes and online stuff that's pretty fair compared to a lot of games.

***** Maybe but the PS4 has more interesting games (for me at least), the matter isn't the cost of the console but rather the amount of games I would play with it. I would probably go for a PS4 or a WiiU simply because I like the roster more, not because they're cheaper, however I see why people would prefer a XBone anyways, it's just not for me.
Man they did so well with this game. I wish they would mimic the way the KI staff made this game for future sequels of other games. It kept what we already like and added to it. It really didnt take away much. I LOVE YOU FOR THAT!

The gameboy version is terrible >;( I remember owning it as a kid, and got so angry with it because it just...was so terrible. Fighting games with only 2 buttons, and not to mention Ki was kind of infuriating for me anyway back then didn't help matters. The Snes version is OK at best :( I never did get the chance to play an actual cabinet for it though. KI for Xbone looks damn good. Almost enough to buy an Xbone, but Smash 4 is too high on my priorities list, so console money will be going to a Wii U soon D: I need a better job! Need more game money!

There actually is a KI3 machine I played at 5 years ago. I don't remember what city, but it was at a rest stop in Arizona. Either it was some bootleg version or maybe Rare's only test machine? The artwork around the cabinet looked just like the the boxart on the "360 KI3" artwork at 4:55
The only XBone game I would even consider getting, which bums me out because it's definitely not worth spending $400 for one game (unless you were buying a cabinet or something). But... oh well, at least there are enough other good fighting games out there to appease me. haha

I believe cinder thunder and riptor were removed because gargos can fly. If Gargos was in the air, then those 3 characters' special moves were perfect counters.
I think it's highly likely that a KI character will be a guest character for the X1 version of MKX. It's confirmed that guest characters will be featured in both versions of the game and the KI cast are the only characters that make sense in Microsoft's side.
I heard that a new Gear Of War ( not 100% sure though ) is coming out close to the time of Mortal Kombat X and I think those guys would fit perfectly, especially because of how gory Gears Of War already is
McBeef Punch Scorpion is a hell spawn. His limitation defy natural abilities for he is beyond earth. But you cant tell me Cole wouldn't just slap his ass around. Lol jk Gears is my favourite franchise but personally I would rather have guests of people who could fit inside the MK universe a bit better. That's just me. Gears characters in Unreal Tournament, cool but in MK. Ill pass. I wouldn't really even be excited, I could just honestly see better picks to be guests.
Perfect Dark zero also had little call backs to Killer Instinct. When you'd play multiplayer with bots, you'll get them named after the KI cast. I think there is more, but I forgot them.

I personally because of the reason that it really is no KI anymore. I don't wanna be bashing a game you like, but if you wish I could tell why I dislike it personally.
This just reminds me how much I missed the KI soundtrack, and how incredible it was. If the new game comes out only for Xbox One, as it seems it will.... I might consider getting an Xbox One for that (and a couple of other things).

Thing is though games are becoming more expensive to the developers since graphics are becoming more advanced meaning they have to work harder to make those graphics. Making the hardware cheaper also keeps games cheaper in a way.
I love how pc gamers ignore the fact that without console games many games on pc wouldn't exist due to lack of interest in gaming overall. Also what is it about pc gamers that they have such an inferiority complex that even when there is no argument they have to assert the fact that it is a more powerful machine....kinda sad
