When they performed "The Men All Pause" at a Providence, RI concert, the STUPID music critic for our local paper thought they were singing about MENOPAUSE!!
@@latoyabell8991 ✨️👑🥰👉💯🙌👋I was just 17 and I was crazy crazy crash for them and music 🎶 band I had dreams of since birth music 🎶 WOMEN QUEENS BLACK EXCELLENT BLACK GIRL GROWING GLOWING FLOWING THROUGH YESSSSSSSS 1986
😊 My momma put me on them!!!! 😁 can see us NOW they made Our time together Extra special We would be dancing ALL around the house!!! 🤭 Thanks Klymaxx 🙋🏾♀️
It is very sad that a group of all talented young women could not hold on and stay together and stay focused as ONE. They all complimented each other. I love them💯💕🏆 "I MISS YOU" KLYMAXX😘
Thanks for sharing the video. #KLYMAXX forever. Joyce Irby was/is my favorite. She, Bernadette and COOLEY are still performing separately. Lorena, Lynn and Robbin are good...living life and doing their own things unrelated to music.
Listen, I love them! My favorite song is “Say Yes”, this is my cleaning house song, over and over again…🎶 (yall see what I did with that last line, lol)
RECIPE FOR ALL AN GIRL BAND: 1. Women who have been taught their values since they were little girls. 2. Women who were taught since they were little girls to respect other women 3. Women who see the value in other women, and know how to move past simple disagreements 4. Women who understand that each woman brings something different BUT necessary to the table 5. Women who understand they have no need to be jealous/envious because they’ve been taught to be at peace in their own lanes. 6. Women who know that sleeping with record producer/manager is taboo 7. Women who do not allow outsiders to tell an individual, “you’re the star of the group you should leave the others and go solo.“
The way Klymaxx literally came apart at the seams is so tragic. They couldn't see the potential they had if they stayed together??? It makes me respect EWF, Stones, and a few other acts that have stood the test of time as a group for decades. When you reach worldwide success the egos can go through the roof
If you watch this series _Unsung,_ you will notice a similar pattern with these funk bands. Business people start whispering in each member's ear: "you can be bigger if you go solo." What they really mean is "I can get a bigger slice of _your_ pie if you go solo." It's not so surprising. Music money can be fickle, especially when split six ways…
My fave girl group of all time. And all talented. When egos get in the way it is heartbreaking but if they could just all love on each other like they really did in the beginning then I think would be a good thing to help them heal.
I couldn't help but know Klymaxx. My mother would play that damn album over and over like it was an MJ record. It would drive my stepdad up the wall hearing his son sing those songs. They made good music. Simple fact was though they were outdated even at their peak. All the crooner type singers and live bands were dead by the late 80s. Hip-hop and pop boybands were the new in-thing. The groups or solos that survived were the ones that embraced hip-hop or more gritty music. Hell even Aerosmith (Tyler/Perry) reluctantly did the WTW crossover but it turned out to be the best move they made in decades. White acts can afford not to evolved. They can make a record and live in mansions coasting albums they did decades ago. Black acts and black-adjacent ones have to evolve to keep up with younger crowds. Even Prince hated it but he eventually took on a more modern sound. Nowadays, yes there are some 90s/early 2Ks era that are getting by off their old music but not enough for me to say 'it's a rule not an exception". I guess what I'm saying is even without them falling out they'd been dead in the water anyway so they're mad each other over nothing really. It's like two horse and buggy business partners being mad at each other after the automobile took over. Klymaxx was still making music for my momma but even my momma, their core fanbase, had moved onto liking our music. Remember the good times, albeit brief, that you had.
@@MastersGraduate2023 They are all alive as of today. Joyce and Bernadette are still working as musicians. Lorena is a homemaker who occasionally does music. Lynn and Robbin are living their lives off stage. All 5 of them currently communicate, more now than before, as they are in a legal suit against Cooley, who is still pursuing sole use of the name Klymaxx…All.THESE.Years.LATER…STILL.
@@DEEDEEEason Thank you for providing detailed Information. It is sad they are still have this issue against Cooley. I watched Unsung & I saw the tension. 💔I love positive upbeat legendary great bands. I hope they will solve their differences.💖
I think she was NOT trying to steal it. To be fair, they ALL left and she was one of the ones that was stuck, left holding the bag. I mean, what else do you want. It sounds like they were mad or upset that they didn't think of it. But like she said, it can be 6 Klymaxx groups and they can all get paid...I don't get why and what the root of it was. THEY LEFT!
I was 19 when I first heard The Men All Pause I hated it I even hated Bernadette Cooper's intro Whenever I heard the song on the radio the moment the song came on I'd change the station Then one day when the song came on I decided not to change the station and the let song play on and I liked what I heard and I've liked it ever since
