Knee Pain Relief Exercises, Seated - 5 Minute Real Time Routine

These simple knee exercises are all done in the seated position and may help relieve knee pain and knee tightness. They are also performed in real time so it's easy to follow along. See some knee stretches: • Knee Pain Relief Stret...
Therapeutic knee exercises don’t have to require spending a lot of time doing them. Doing the knee exercises correctly and with control is just as important. The exercises should help strengthen the knees.
Starting with a warm up helps loosen up the muscles surrounding the knee. Seated hip flexion, LAQ (long arc quads), and seated heel/toe raises will get the main muscle groups that cross the knee joint.
Seated hip flexion with a band, seated knee extensions (LAQ) with a band, and seated hip abduction with a band are great ways to focus on the muscles around the knees.
Seated ball squeezes and seated hamstring sets are isometric exercises, but they can be very affective in strengthening the muscles.

Dr. Jo, I have been doing the leg extensions and that's hard enough. I don't have the bands like you have but, I am trying to continue strengthening my both knees ongoing. Lately I have back off a bit and have not been doing the therapy as much. There's been pain and some swelling lately. 💓

Your exercises are great but if you could hold more sessions where you do it together with your audience throughout the whole duration, that would give more empathy and rapport and benefit the genuine audience all the more. What is lacking in general is the will to persevere on their own, so doing it together and not just summarising the key exercises would reap good rewards in my view. Thanks for doing a great job!

Hi Dr. Jo, about ten days ago I was playing soccer and I tried to do a bicycle kick and I fell on my back.lol. I’ve been having middle, upper, and neck pain ever since the fall. Yesterday I went to play again and i notice that every time i was running my back was hurting a lot. Should I go see a doctor?

Hi! I watch your video & got help earlier, thanks for that. Since last two weeks, the index finger of my right hand shakes often, I am scared whether I have any nerve problem. I have to work on PC all the time & the up arrow key in my PC doesn't work properly, so I have to press it hard by my index finger, I am not sure whether this may cause any problem. Can you please suggest something what I need to do?

Baker's cysts are usually the result of an injury or ailment of the knee like a meniscal tear, arthritis, etc. So it depends on what is causing it.

Hi Dr Jo Thank yo for your helpful videos and detailed explanations. I have found doing the last hamstring exercise, pushing the heel into the floor and back that I have caused irritation on either side of the Achilles’ tendon in both ankles. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your insights.

You're welcome. It doesn't have to be a hard push. Isometric exercises are just to activate the muscles when full movements are too hard or painful (usually a 30-40% activation is plenty). Maybe you're pushing too hard? Unfortunately, I really don't know since I can't evaluate you.

It depends on what stage of recovery you are in and how your body reacts to treatment, but in general, therapeutic exercises can be done 1-3 times a day, every day.

Hi dr. Jo! I have an issue with my knees. The arthritis in my knees is already pretty bad, considering my age. I recently had a THR and walked with a crooked leg for about 9 months. The x-shape of my legs is now visible - not only to my doctor - so I wonder if there are any exercises you can advise me to get my knees ‘back’ to their normal position.

Sometimes they get turned on randomly. You can easily turn them off by hitting the "CC" button at the bottom of the video. You can also make them transparent if you'd like to keep them on. Hi Dr Jo. Love these exercises but I find that my clients lean back into the chair or slump back into the chair. So I remind them to sit on their “Sits” bones, pubic bone down or neutral pelvis.

Hi! I'm 19 and am new here- loving the channel :) I kind of have a question- Knee pains started when we began running for a Track and Field PE course- we were always challenged to run three 800m laps for 10-12 minutes i think. I recently started to exercise at home, and knee pains again- there are days where it just hurts and I can't work out at all. Should i give working out a rest or continue but with less intensity?

I have the same issue and I'm 19 too. My knees hurt from overbending and I even consulted a physical therapist but after a month it's still there. Did you get rid of your knee pain?

I fell down last week on slippery tiles on my knee ..and I was taken to hospital for x _ray ..but the result show no dislocation,fracture or abnormally on my knee ...but I feel knee beat doctor plz help

wakanda jam Same thing happened to me back in December. X Ray showed nothing. Hospital sent me home and told me to rest. Has an MRI two days later, I had 3 of my ligaments completely torn. Get an MRI, it’s worth it
