Even without the beard, past Kratos is still a demonic looking monster compared to current Kratos. Kratos still has the capacity to be a monster, *but I am YOUR monster no longer." All the props to Carson and Judge
The animators could've easily save time and effort by hiding behind Kratos' beard. After all, you don't see the whole expressions if you play as bearded Kratos. The fact that they still commited to animate the whole facial expressions really shows their dedication to the art
It would be awesome to see if players can restore unnerfed barehanded. Players figured out if Kratos lands on the ground at the right time his first slow punch is still in game but was never used since GOW 2018. If the file is still in game players may be able to restore one of the things that players complain about
Moments like these however are when you know there are true animators that love their passion and are some of the best around. Even though they knew a beard would hide ALL emotions and would have to exaggerate his eyes or lips, etc. they still went out of their way to give him real emotion and conflict in his speech and give his face vibrant emotions with the animations. It’s like the one animator in how to train your dragon who said he would spend 2 weeks making a high detailed animation on the dragons, only for the after effects to just cover it up with water or smoke. So even though his beard is covering most of it. The fact they still animated it helps sell it even more when you do get tiny quips of being able to see his facial expressions.
The writers wanted Christopher Judge to voice young Kratos in the original script, however he refused because only TC Carson (the original Kratos voice actor) should voice him. This was a golden opportunity for them to bring back TC Carson for this scene and maybe for more appearances in the dlc but they just rewrote the script so young Kratos doesn't speak, to me that seems really disrespectful
It's already a free Dlc also pretty sure adding TC would burn more money yes Sony is a multi billion company but different sectors have a different budget
@@revfivez7069 but it's important to consider how much integral TC was to the franchise, his performance is one of the main reasons Kratos is considered an iconic character, you could even say that the new games wouldn't be around if ir weren't for him, the least they could do would be to put him in a DLC which the whole point was to honor the past games
Imagine how chaotic it would have been if they got Carson back to reprise the role and we had to fight past Kratos to overcome his fears and regrets ... It would have been so AMAZING and would definitely break the internet and blow everyone's minds
If you mean bring him back to fully reprise the role of Kratos then no. Christopher Judge's voice has now become synonymous with old Kratos. However, if they plan to do a scene where Kratos somehow ends up talking to or fighting his younger self then they should bring TC Carson back to represent young Kratos.
@@ahmedalanzi. Well if they are planning to do that then the smart thing would be to just use the old audio and touch it up a bit. They don't need TC Carson or Chris Judge to redo the entire Kratos dialogue.
The moment Kratos looks upon the statue of Pandora, you can see how he wanted to honor Pandora's words and sacrifice to become a beacon of hope and be a better man than he was in his timemof greece.
The real younger Kratos would of course lash out scream back at him but this apparition is Kratos accepting and listening to himself. Having TC Carson would be fan service but the game is better for choosing to have the quiet scene with just Christopher Judge's Kratos IMO
I trully think this was the best bow the series redeemed itself from the main story. I dont want another god of war game, as i feel it would not keep the same level of trust as the first reimagining was. Im very hsppy santa monica is making a new game. Something that they attempted before, but couldn't get out as they wanted. I believe comming back to finishing their classic piece was a beautiful way to show how they can put the same level of love and passion. The new game may not have the most memorable characters, but the gameplay will never fail to be satisfying!! If they plan to make another gow game. I believe giving time for this franchise is their best effort. Time, that made gow4 a beautiful serenade. Letting people it with it as long as possible and then coming back to it.
@@justanannepfp9814it's not necessary to be a hero to protect others. Even monsters are capable of attachment, love, feelings for others. The ones who look like heroes often pretend to ne ones. Might be a funny parallel, but remember Shrek. He ain't the prettiest man on earth, he's still a monster and he knows that. But he knows where and how to find the strength to not be one on terms of deeds and protect his close ones
I didn't fully understand kratos point kinda felt like he was venting more than proving a point, wasn't exactly confronting his past he was kind of rambling idk, if someone could explain it a little
@@coolnsolid198there eyebrows and eyes are different young kratos had darker eyebrows and Asian eyes also the skin is different too the young kratos had rough and darker white skin with abit of dirt textures
Looks so much better without the beard. Christopher Judge's voice is great. But it having to come out of Kratos' "Zeus beard" sometimes gives the impression of someone who is rather one-note, switching from stoic to tender without any range. This finally gives Norse Kratos the range that he so desperately needed.
