This is a mechanism repair for La-z-boy electric recliners. Part 2 of this 2-part video instruction demos how to install the Clevis kit. The metal part replaces 2 plastic mechanism parts on older recliners.
Very, very useful pair of videos. We didn't have to remove the drive rod because we replaced the clevis kit with a metal set that allowed us to put the part on the clevis and tighten 4 bolts securing a plate which completed the connection to the drive rod. Both parts of this video were extremely useful for familiarizing us with how it all went together and how it worked. Thank you.
Very Instructional Video, Watched Part 1 and Part 2 to replace the broken plastic parts for ours chair, I know enough now how to fix my other chair. I have the redesigned clevis part that has 4 screws holding it together to fit around the rod, so did not have to pull the rod out to reassemble. It is working well. So glad to see your video to understand what did what since all I had was shattered plastic. Thank you.
No. No. No. I've followed this seven times. Leg rest will not extend fully except for one position that you did not show; then it broke the guide rod. I just replaced the guide rod and I am back at the beginning. You failed to show the correct "new" metal replacement part and also did NOT show clearly the orientation. The chuckle about having to to it over, is infuriating because I still don't know what doing it over means. I did it four different ways (four sided rod) and the only way that lifted the leg rest fully, bent and broke the plastic guide rod. Later you pointed at the END of the rod to show the correct "up"???? I didn't see your "T" or "B" markings so I am still lost. 90% of the vid is useful. but the most important part is unclear.
