Amazing great quality and informative video! I don't even have a recliner that needs repairing I just like acquiring random knowledge that might prove to be useful and I find repairing videos satisfying and relaxing. This video checks all the boxes, kept me entertained throughout the whole thing. I didn't expect such a great video from an unsuspecting smaller channel so I just had to comment on it! Thank you very much. It was a great video and I learned something. I do have a question though. Where can I buy a replacement swivel plate. it appears I have a swivel plate with only about 10 ball bearings in it so some of them must’ve come out. Can I take the swivel plate apart or do I need to replace the whole plate?
@mangary - If the Swivel Plate is still working (rotating) smoothly without excess noise & is still stable, you can continue to use it. If not, you'll need to replace the entire Swivel Plate. Check with the chair manufacturer to see if this replacement part is still available. If not, there are generic replacements available that may do the job. The only thing to check when using a generic is to make sure the mounting holes will match up with those on your chair. Generic Swivel Plates are typically available through upholstery suppliers online.
@daviddorman4354 - If you have a La-z-boy, their rocker/recliners generally can have either a swivel base or wooden (non-swivel) base setup. To convert to non-swivel base, you'll have to remove the round & upper base, then attach the wooden, non-swivel base. If you have a glider -- as shown in the video -- there is no non-swivel base option. And if you have a different recliner brand, check with the manufacturer (or one of their dealers) regarding possible base configurations.
@sloaneirwin4189 - I ordered them from the manufacturer. You can also take one of the other fasteners to your local hardware or home improvement store to find a match.
