I shook Eddie’s hand. He had a strong grip. A grip built up over years of playing lots of guitar. There’s no magic black box. Ed put the time in to get that good.
@@josephq2228 Ed and Mike were short. I thought they would be taller. I got to talk with Alex for a few minutes. He just was a normal guy. None of that rock star attitude.
I only saw him once in person. He said that people cop his style because they can't cop his feel. He was very right about that. He is truly a one in an eternal type person and guitarist. He was a true all around musician. Thank GOD we got to know him. Uncle Ted (Nugent) thought he had a little black box or something but Eddie played from the heart. It was all him - no tricks or nonsense!
My buddy and his brother hung with him down port ( port Jefferson) when he was getting cancer treatments back in the early 2000s. He was a regular dude
I'm almost 50. Me too. I still cry sometimes when I hear a certain song and it just re-hits me that he's gone. Watch the video of his visit with Jason Becker...instant tear-jerker.
Ed, Edward or Eddie. aka - Waldo "the atomic punk" let me tell you about that guy...this guitar magnifico Eddie Van Halen. o k, is and will always be..the coolest nerd to ever existed. tell DLR he can quote me on that.
Stop making up nonsense I love Eddie Van Halen and his playing so much but this does not sound good. What makes it even worse is Sammy Hagar bellowing in the background. Eds style does not fit the song at all.
Depending how the transition of the scenes are one is just a regular solo notes that he plays during a solo act on stage and the other one is from the song "I'll wait" off the 84 album
He got the inspiration for tapping from Page. And, the only "disrespectful" thing he ever said about Page was true as a critique of his live playing. Ed would ironically go through his own struggles live in 2004. But, Ed never didn't disrespect him as a musician or producer. They actually met several times, and Jimmy has been very complimentary of Ed over the years.
While I have no doubt that the Wolfgang was an extremely lucrative venture for Eddie, building a guitar out of basswood is about as bad of a decision as one could make!
Well I'm not a structure engineer or a carpenter of any sort so I wouldn't know the difference between basswood or regular wood or plywood or anything of that nature. LOL.
@@andrewleigh3 What was Eddie Van Halen's guitar made of? An early version of a Superstrat, the guitar was made from a Northern Ash Stratocaster body, with pickup routing which Van Halen modified to fit a Gibson PAF humbucking pickup in the bridge position. The guitar has a maple neck and fretboard, chrome hardware, and was painted with a white over black design.
Lol.. This argument has been going on since mid 80's one solo got him his whole career. He's not my GOAT Page is . All you Jimmy haters out there since it's a EVH video how many Diamond albums did EVH produce??? JS ROCK ON GUITAR FREAKS🤘🎸
