Absolutely brilliant, by far the best video on this tent. Just 1 question, I lost you at 3:50?
@JustinWhiting9
@JustinWhiting9 3 месяца назад
Thank you Paul. What do you mean ‘lost you’ ? I checked the video at 03:50 and it looks and sounds ok. 🤷

Sorry, should have explained. Where/how are you tying the ''extra knot'' to allow seperate tensioning on the to the doors. Thanks@@JustinWhiting9
@JustinWhiting9
@JustinWhiting9 3 месяца назад
Ah, ok. Without tying a knot in the guy line there, when you unzip/unhook the door the whole line slackens off. That includes the top cone, and the top ridge of the tent goes slack. Just tie a knot with a loop at the position where the peg is. Then peg it out through that loop. That way, when you unzip/unhook the door, the top of the tent stays taught. Also, you can then independently tighten/slacken the top of the tent, or the door.

Hello, thank you for the valuable information on how to set up and configure this tent. I recently purchased this model and, I confess, I didn't set up the tent correctly, leaving it very uneven. Now with this video, I know how to assemble it correctly. Thank you one more time. And...sorry for my terrible English, as I'm Brazilian and used Google Translate.

Yesssss Justin. I’ll be honest I got the lanshan 2 a few weeks back and I’ve watched videos on end and still haven’t got it pitched properly… until now. Fantastic I’ve finally got it sorted. Very much appreciated the video 👍

Out of all the tents I own, this one is by far the best value for money. I've got the standard Lanshan 2 and the 2 Pro and believe me, I've had them out in some testing conditions. I used my Pro for the Pennine Way, perfect tent for the job and once you've got the knack, can be pitched in about 3 minutes. Great pitching & tips video. ATB

The original Lanshan plastic hook broke during my high wind test video. Here is the link. I did the swap, thanks to my friend, in the mountains. It worked! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cNwdXm9C1Tk.htmlsi=2LWKSvG2Vt5kl0wc

many thanks for this instruction, despite I'm used some different tents in the past, my construction last week with the lanshan 2, looked a little poor, so with your advice it should be much better next time 🙃

I have one and I love it also. Bear in mind when you are on the South Downs Way or many hikes in the summer it is almost impossible to pitch this tent in my experience. 1 the ground is too hard for the pegs and 2 you rarely find a flat lawn on a long hike. For that reason I use a free standing tent despite the extra weight
@JustinWhiting9
@JustinWhiting9 2 месяца назад
It’s the same in Scotland. Not easy to find good pitches! My back garden is pretty near a perfect pitch but no mountains! 🏔️

I have experimented with my Lanshan 2 pro and set the poles to 110. Also for the guy lines at the pole ends I peg down separately. All essentially to reduce the gap at these ends.
@JustinWhiting9
@JustinWhiting9 2 месяца назад
Good thinking Mike. On occasion, I set the poles low too, if it’s windy. 👍

Oooo.... You have grommets for your walking poles on your Lanshan 2 Pro. I don't seem to have them. Wish I did!

Yes, eyelets. Probably one of the numerous little differences between Flame’s Creed, 3F UL and Maier versions, aswell as changes over time. Mine is the early 2020 Flame’s Creed version.

Looks cool... I've had years of L1 & L2, I now have an L2 pro but have never pitched it in anger, so any tips are good! It's not the pitch that concerns me most tho, it's the condensation. atb... Sinco

Hi Sinco, Lots of practise in the back garden and on trail led me to this method. Plus tips from other RU-vidrs. It's probably not perfect, there are always other things to tinker with.

Have you ever when its raining touched the tent from the inside by accident and rains come through? Have I just made that up or is that a thing that can happen?

No Andy, it’s totally waterproof. Never had a leak. You do have to seal the seams though. Watch my heavy rain test video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ppUUOameQv4.htmlsi=J_c-GIMCDVkhpNhh

Most interesting to me: A Brit talked about "Meter" and not in the Imperial measurements. 🤣
@JustinWhiting9
@JustinWhiting9 3 месяца назад
I did say “5 or 6 inches” aswell though! 😂 I’m an engineer and at school/college and in the factory we used both imperial and metric every day. It’s easy for me to switch between. My parents use only imperial and my kids only metric. I was in the ‘cross-over’ generation.

@@JustinWhiting9 When watching the second time, I recognized you mentioned as well inches... I just heard "meter" the first time, probably because I did not expect it... :D

It’s mostly metric here now but miles and pints will never change. 🍺

@@JustinWhiting9 Sure, because a Pint is still a little bit more than 0,5 L. So it pays off ;-)
