Load and Reload were both good, but could've been edited down to a single album. That said, the backlash was 100% about their haircuts.

I'll never forget how devastated I was when load came out. The Black album was so damn good and to follow it up with that... I started listening to Pantera a lot more.

There was nothing to justify..... Great album

While I might have preferred Black Album II in the same way that Puppets felt like an extension of RTL, Load is a fantastic album, and all the butthurt purists can't change that.

Metallica went emo lol. Post black album I gave up on Metallica. It was then just slayer, anthrax and Megadeth for me…..Those three bands were still making metal albums. I heard Lux Eterna and I have high hopes for Metallica making a metal album again. It’s kill ‘em all vibes

I hated that album, then I saw them live on that tour. Then I hated it 1% less.

I've bought those albums in the 90ies and I can't still to this day get through a Load/Re-Load album without getting bored and turning the record of after a couple of songs. They pretty much suck in my opinion.

I loved LOAD and RELOAD and never understood people getting so pissed off.

Not gonna say I hated it but by that time I was listening to different types of music than Metallica. I liked the songs I heard on the radio so it wasn't terrible to me.

Load and Re-Load have gotten better with time. Far Beyond Driven, not so much.

I would've respected Metallica more if they'd pushed themselves to write even heavier music . I discovered them in a record shop called " Listen " in Glasgow in 1984 . I took a chance because the sleeve looked unique . It didn't take many listens to realise they were at the forefront of a new, more extreme genre of aggressive sound . Sadly when they sacked Dave , they lost part of their soul ,indeed part of their armoury of skill and whilst they continued siphoning his style ,our heroes couldn't recapture his persona . I will forever be grateful for the first three albums but that's as far as it went for me.

Load was a good name but sadly they for got two extra words the title. It should have been called Load of Crap. I gave it thee iistens gave it away. King Nothing sounded like it was a left over from the Black Album. Aint my bitch sounded like a cover song and that was ok as Metallica and Van Halen always did the best cover songs. But wow that CD was a stinker for sure

If you compare it to their first 3 albums wich were briljant with Cliff on it, it's completely horrible. But who can blame them... They became bored millionaires after the commercial Black-album following with mediocre albums like so many bands.
