Even someone who works a 9-5 gets screwed over if politicians mess with the economy. If you don't like someones politics then tell them why instead of just silencing them

The idea of a democracy is that everyone's voice gets heard in politics (in *theory*), so saying 'stay out of politics' is s u c h a ridiculous sentiment - aside from the fact we're already well aware of which is that it's only said by people getting upset that someone disagrees with their negative viewpoints

The thing that annoys me about them saying "What do you know about politics?" is that 1. They know "just as little", and 2. Everything is politics. The government sets the minimum wage, they control oversight boards for nearly every industry. Food safety standards, what is and isn't allowed to be imported into your country, hentai (Japanese gov't was restrictive over conventional pron so people drew women fucking all manner of almost dicks as protest). EVERYTHING is politics. If you exist, you interact with something political. If you have a kid in school, that kids teacher is most likely regulated and controlled by your government. The cost of a bus fare and the potential for expansions of routes and other additions to public transit like light rail. *ALL politics.* Everything you can ever do will be regulated by politics. So what do we all know about politics? As much as it relates to our life, is what we know. And that pool of knowledge inherently *is* different for everyone, but it's all political.

Also 3. They probably complain about how "freedom of speech is under attack" as soon as it's their turn to "stay out of politics" because I've yet to encounter even a single person spewing one of those lines who doesn't immedately turn around and spew the other depending entirely on whether or not they disagree with what's being said.@@potatosordfighter666

The idea of anyone telling anyone they shouldn't be talking about politics is offensive to me. *Everyone* should be talking about politics. You can disagree with people, and you can tell them that you do, and you can even tell them that their opinions are cancer (if it's online you're probably right), but the moment you try to somehow disqualify them from even *having them* and *speaking of them* you've entered into territory you do not want to be in.

Same.. it’s a cycle of feeling guilt and dibilitating depression because of being IN the cycle and being unable to do anything which contributes to the guilt and the cycle more.

Yeah, this is extremely common for people with ADHD. I've only recently (6 months or so) been seeing professional help, and when I described it, they were like "oh yeah". They've put me on some meds and given me a lot of help with coping and strategies, and it's like night and day. If anyone else resonates with what Tom said, do some research into executive function, ADHD, and if you can, see a therapist. It's so easy to just think "well this is me, I'm just broken", but knowing this is common, and hearing how people cope with it and getting help will do so much

Relationships with people arnt always meant to be forever. Sometimes you come into peoples lives, spread a bit of joy, be there for them, you learn, you grow, you influence each other, and then the time comes where you move onto the next chapter :) Something ending doesnt mean it was bad, or wrong, it just means this little slice of time is over, ready and waiting for the next piece to come along.

Yup executive dysfunction is fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucking horrible

I feel that so hard. Been in therapy and on different meds trying to fix mine (ADHD + possible ASD, not to mention depression and anxiety) and it's been. A time. I moved out of my childhood home about 7 years ago, and had to move back just shy of 5 years ago now. I still have the majority of my boxes from the move back just sitting in my room, next to me every day, still mostly packed. Plenty of other anecdotes but I just feel like that one speaks to it the most, outside of maybe the fact that I have regular days where I will sit at my computer, and like not even be trying to work (unemployed and unemployable, big shocker with the Executive Dysfunction lmao) but like, wanting to play a game I have downloaded and sitting there. But I'm just so goddamn out of spoons that even that's too much. Regular days where not only that, but I'll sit effectively staring at a wall because I don't have the spoons to put on a RU-vid video because there's nothing in my sub box I feel like watching. Shit sucks, but it's at least a small cold comfort knowing I'm not alone, that not only just other fans like me but the objectively successful creators that I look up to have these issues too. Other people have broke through it one way or another, and there's hope that I'll find a way to as well, eventually (even if it takes a while, a lot more therapy and meds, and repeated failed attempts using techniques that worked for others).
