As a Filipino musician, I would say Southborder is the most successful Filipino Rnb band.

The keyboardist is Jay Durias. He is now a music producer. He co- produced SB19's songs like What? and MAPA😊

Jay durias is tle founder and leader of south border. They have already had several amazing vocalist brix,luke and duncan to name a few. There is one thing in common to those guys, a good and strong head tone. I think Jay wanted to stick with a certain sound or genre so even if they change their vocalist, the sound and essence of the group remains the same.

Jay Durias has always been the core of Southborder as a vocalist/keyboardist. He also composed most of their songs.

The 2000s were like the golden era of Filipino bands. Lots of bands and great opm songs emerged in that era.

The guy on keyboards is Jay Durias, and I believe he's the foundation of the group. He's the only member in the current iteration of the group who is also an original member from 1993. He's the main songwriter and the lead vocalist. South Border always has a co-vocalist/s alongside Jay who can hit those insane notes. Originally, in 1993, it was Brix Ferraris. In 1998, Luke Mejares took over that role. And ever since, there's been a couple of other guys who would sing those high notes like Duncan Ramos, and today, it's Kell Gatdula. But Jay Durias is amazing. Not only does he have an amazing voice, he's also a song writer, arranger, and record producer. He recently worked with SB19 on the production of their track "What?" alongside SB19 leader Pablo.

South border, came from the southern Philippines. Jay Durias in keyboard is the song writer and leader of the band, he is from davao city. A city in southern Philippines, Mindanao Island.

However in terms of popularity, it's undoubtedly the Eraserheads who is the most popular and most revered, primarily because of their relatable lyrics and indie rock vibe. They can pack hundreds of thousands in a venue.

He is a music genius that is why even though vocalists of the band come and go but the band still remain strong and intact. That is because of Jay Durias. Love him!😊❤️

If I am not mistaken Luke was the longest Vocalist for the band. And Jay Durias is the man on keyboards (2nd vocalist) and also the composer and music producer. The band may not be active lately but Jay is very much active in the background producing songs for new artists. (He is one of the producer of MAPA and What? by SB19). 💙 All the best to you both!

there is really alot of great bands in the Philly, Southboarder is one of them. in my Gen, it would be the Eraserheads. then Southboarder followed later on, then Side A and the rest of them bands you have watched in the OPM. btw, this song is one of the hardest to sing in the kareoke.

This is one of my favorite from South Border. Other faves are Rainbow and Kahit Kalian. They are one of my all time favorite bands. No other bands that come to my mind that sounds like them. They are simply great! 😊💜

My personal 90's band is Eraserheads. It depends on the genre I guess and certain bands stand-out. RnB wasn't my type of song back then and I don't know anything about Rnb, but I definitely know Southborder whenever their songs play. Their style is just so unique that even an ignorant like me can immediately identify them.

You should react to Kahit Kailan by South Border, that is one of my most favorite songs of the band with Luke Mejares as its vocalist. The transitions on that song is just OMG, I know you will love it.

I still love them! I haven't encountered anyone with this same sound. But I'm glad to see that Filipino bands are becoming more creative, and I like how most of them are unique and have their own sound.

I grew up loving South Border's music than any other Pinoy bands since their music is more of rnb and soul. Brix Ferraris' Love Of My Life version is still one of the best ones for me and he's the best vocalist of south border for me.

I think the heart and soul of the band is definitely Jay Durias (the guy on the keyboard who did the intro) he wrote and composed all the hits of South Border that inspite of them changing the vocalist many times (Brix, Luke, Duncan and Vince) the sound remains unique to the band that you can easily recognize it's South Border. For comparison you need to check out "Kahit Kailan" with Brix on the vocals and "Rainbow" & "Ikaw Nga" with Duncan and Vince on the vocals. I highly recommend "Ikaw Nga.

They are so iconic no one can't love them, even if they change vocalists it didn't matter, like mymp. The one on the piano is Jay Durias also the same one on the piano on Kahit Kailan performance. You like him so much. He just looks different cause he's younger during this performance.

When soutbborder was formed, jay durias is the forerunner, composer, arranger and brix ferraris the original vocalist, then he went out and replaced by luke mijares who eventually became a solo artist by choice, so jay durias took over the vocals to continue the band. They are all amazing

Luke Mejares is actually a member of the band southborder. He was the first perhaps the second vocalist and then replaced by Duncan and the other guy.

These bands like South Border, Side A, Arstart, Freestyle back in the 90’s are the weekend events for twentysomethings then. They are playing everywhere. And since we’ve just started working fulltime then we can afford really cozy clubs and theaters so you can imagine how amazing the experience is. Starting to make salary and corny relationships them bands playing in the background. IShortly after, they played huge coloseums and open gardens in universities. So fun looking back.
