freshlife08 you wanna know why ? Because Lebron and Kobe was good to the point they didn't have to attend college they jump straight to the league something larvar will never accomplish
He didn't make nothin'. He can afford to put them in the best schools and best programs. That's all you need, playing experience. After that it's up to the individual to be however great you want to be, it's either in you or it's not.
As a father, I wouldn't want my son having to answer questions about my statements, actions etc. before the biggest game of his life. I wouldn't want to be a distraction, I would want to support him. My "brand" is not important when it comes to my son enjoying this time of his career. Lonzo is a man in his own right and it's time that LaVar shows his son some respect.
This man Ball is completely out of control...I'm rooting for Kentucky solely to stick it to this guy, even though I have nothing against Lonzo. I bet a lot of people are doing the same.
iminthenfl I'm not a fan of either UCLA or Kentucky, so Lavar's mouth has tipped the scales in favor of Kentucky for me. That's just the way it goes sometimes.
If i was Shannon I would straight up say that he isn't welcome on the show anymore. No reason to give him outlet to promote is brand and insult others. Id let his sons come on the show but not LaVar. After all he doesn't even do anything besides cause cause drama. The man cant even hoop.
Ive been coaching a high school sport for about 2 months. I learned very quickly that everybody's thinks they're a coach. This is like five notches beyond that though....and people wonder why the previous coach left for a PE/basketball coach job at a different SoCal school.....
All I can say is that it is kind of damning that LaVar has *conveniently* not shown his face to talk about these recent allegations considering he never struck us as the type that would dodge a question, or missing the opportunity to be in the spotlight. Why disappear now? it's a bit odd if you ask me...unless of course everything this HS coach is saying is true. And if it is, I just wonder what's going to happen with LiAngelo moving forward, since he's a sophomore in high school.
Can't wait for Monday's take on LaVar calling out and blaming Steve Alford for UCLA's loss to Kentucky. In this clown's mind he is 100% right 100% of the time.
Reporter: Who do you think is going to be the first pick in the draft, Markelle or Lonzo? LaVar Ball: My boy going to be the first pick in the NBA and NFL draft!
It's really shameful that Lonzo Ball will likely be the most hated player in the NBA next year, when by all accounts he's a great kid and a great player who's never opened his mouth.
Lemme show you how smart Lavar is... He pulled his kid out of school and buuuuuuppppps the attention span of everyone is directed at him and his sons.... their popularity just increased because of this and when Lamelo goes bk to high school he's gonna be better and wala the media is going to be blown tf up... he's doing this because he's a genius in marketing n business and he invested so much in his children he deserves to reap the reward stop hating... Lamelo gonna be #1 pick in the NBA not because he's the greatest within the draft cuz he's not but he's the most marketable and the media loves and craves for him and NBA is going to use that opportunity to get much more benefits.. that man is a genius
Facts lavar was smart for pulling melo out of chino hills because he became a better player overseas then when he went back to high school he was dominating and now he’s a lottery pick
Hopefully this guy is done, these quotes are damaging and im tired of media giving him a platform to act like a fool. I knew it from the start, everyone called me a hater for not liking Lavar. The matter of fact is hes trying to run the show for his kids, instead of letting his sons play ball. No GM will let him come to games if hes causing a ruckus.
Michael Okeafor. Your not a hater! People just blind to the truth! It easier to put your head in the sand instead of dealing in reality. I wont go as far as to say i want his kids to fail because their innocent in this. But at some point they're going to have to grow a set and set up healthy boundaries or this will effect their professional and personal lives.
The background moving thing is a cool effect, but I find my eyes are constantly drawn too it instead of focusing on the subject. I would suggest to ESPN not to use that backgrouund.
Sorry, but not sorry, who didn't see this coming a mile away? When the CH coach stepped down last year (Scott Baik I think?), they brought in a young completely unqualified "coach" who simply was an alumni. He never had the power to enforce the team or discipline the players and that's why the Ball brothers were able to do whatever they want without repercussion.
He was the assistant coach under Baik for 2 years prior. He was also very close with Lavar before this happened as far as I know. Stephen Gilling also went to Ayala High School, he didn't go to Chino Hills.
Why is it that no one's talking about the fact that Chino Hill's coach wasn't even the same coach from last year? The head coach from last year that went undefeated with Lonzo was an Asian guy, who now coaches Mater Dei, who Chino Hills lost to earlier this year.
ZZ Groove UCLA is a good team no doubt but you'd be crazy to think they would be elite without Lonzo. There is a reason scouts have him as a top 2 pick in the draft.
I hope LaVar doesn't think this is gonna fly in the league. Let him think he can just walk up into any NBA locker room and disrespect one of these NBA coaches, some who have been former players. LaVar gonna find out real quick just where his place in the NBA is, nowhere.
This is misleading. Big Ballers is Lavar's AAU program. Big Ballers is Chino Hill's Varsity Basketball team in season. A lot of those kids have been playing with Lavar since middle school. So it is technically his team. Everyone in So Cal AAU knows this.
If you don't play on Big Baller AAU Team and train with Lavar, you are not going to be starting for Chino Hills. It's not technically his team tho, and I don't like that fact that he basically threw the coach under the bus. Your right though that he does spend a lot of time with them in the off season and practices.
The coach obviously doesn't like that his team respects Lavar alot more than they respect him. Because if they didn't why would the team go to the 18th floor and be up there excited or "Rallying up" as the coach said.
I like this show, because I like each of the commentators. They are both good people, and very smart. I tend to disagree with Skip a bit more, but he is always respectful and well spoken. The banter between these two is fun!
