5-7mph, this is when it's most fun... play out front... a-bit of 3D... play in the terrain up top... throw in a few double back flips here and there.. I will always have one of these!!!

Thank you but, Yeah you "will" ... and the flips are easy, get some airspeed and slam full up... that's it!!! I'm really enjoying the terrain flying this thing offers. I'm still just picking up on it's intricacy's in knowing when to trust it and when not to regarding "the edge" for low airspeeds and low altitudes for differing maneuvers. It's a kick in the pants to fly for sure, Love it! THANKS for the awesome reply!
Really great videos Robert! Iv been soaring for a year now and have a good grasp on the basics but still only have a very basic transmitter. Im considering buying a Le fish. Do you think it is worth buying and flying this model with a 4 channel TX until I can afford a better unit.My current is not programmable in any way.
Trouttaranaki The airfoil is a slight lifting airfoil so the flap coupling that I recommend isn't really needed for right side up flight. Inverted is a-bit weak without the coupling but really not that bad. if my coupling is turned off it takes awhile for me to recognize it (In-flight) so it actually does quite well inverted without it. So... yes you should be just fine using a non-mixing radio but you will want it later as you get used to Le Fish. Simply fly a-bit faster whilst inverted. It rolls out of inverted without complaining at any speed, ailerons are "always" crisp. There are 2 versions of Le Fish, the difference being the foam used for the wings, the light versions wings are of very light foam whereas the heavy version is more typical of a "very crashable" foamy. mine is the light version. hope this helps. In short (to late ha) yes get a Le Fish you'll love it!
Not altogether certain except to say very rearward. I move CG back until I loose "tracking" abilities to then add a slight nose weight that "just" re-acquires decent tracking. I believe I'm at 34-35% with my Le Fish which is further back than most can even get to. Have a build vid which shows "calculated" CG numbers but I've built my wings "full length" (not to the plans) so my numbers will slightly differ from all others and therefore I can't provide an "absolute" CG number. I have it built and got one flight under my belt... think its going to be good.. How important are spoilerons/flaperons? I have a spektrum DX6i transmitter but only has 2 mix settings. I have snapflaps as one mixer but cant mix both flaps and elevator to the throttle stick on the mix 2...
***** It likes having elevator flap coupling so when you grab up elevator it automatically adds flaps and vice versa for down elevator the flaperons move upward to help provide negative or inverted lift. the airfoil is a lifting airfoil so the added negative flaps with down elevator inputs really helps a-lot for inverted flight!!! Key even, in my mind. I can turn mine on or off via a switch... it's "always" on.
***** I initially had flaperons on my throttle stick, though it was advantageous during low winds in that I could add a bit of flaps to add lift at key moments, I crashed several times in forgetting to center the throttle stick during stressful aerobatics. I'm much happier now that I straight coupled flap action with my elevator. In low lift I really see no advantage to having flaps operate separately via throttle stick. AKA when lift is light you typically are already "milking" up elevator which now operates the flaps automatically. I had to use 2 mixes to make it work, one mix for the left aileron and one mix for the right aileron (slaved each aileron to elevator).
Thanks for your reply Robert...I forgot to mention that I'm a fairly novice flyer so I have settled on setting dual rates for all surfaces and +50 expo on all surfaces too. I have snap flaps set on a switch and I have about 10mm movement on flaps when full elevator is applied. I mainly fly slopes but hopefully today off to a good cliff fly.. Hope Le fish can swim ;-)
Le Fish doesn't come with plans but I have a Le Fish Build video and an addendum build video on my channel that shows how I achieved both positive "and" negative back flips by moving the control horn to get better throws. You-tube channel "Andrew Newton" has a much more detailed Build video titled "Complete Le fish Build" that I used but he doesn't show the elevator hook up of how to get both directions of double flips. Also you-tube channel "Surfimp" (s u r f i m p) is the guy that brought the Le Fish to the American Market so he is a great one to inquire to for answers. Thanks for the inquiry and for subscribing!
