Not just good, but fucking annoying as balls in duel links. Even with most of their deck getting limited or semi-limited, they still have access to princess, which searches for the only fucking onslaught you can have, quite literally making the limit to 1 absolutely MEANINGLESS. Just ban princess and the deck would die down if it weren't for swordswoman being easy generic bullshit warriors for red eyes. This deck is a goddamn nightmare to limit apparently.

Watching this after the reveal of the new Amazoness support is really funny. You're suggestions for how to fix the archetype were pretty spot on with what they actually went with.

There were already a couple of monsters with Amazon in their names that aren't part of the archetype. Then again, Amazon Archer *was* part of the archetype, so they had to change its name. Maybe they thought it'd be better to change one monster's name than two?
My favorite use of Amazoness back in the day was Amazoness Swords Woman Suicide. The basic premise of which was to use Lava Golem to force the opponent to have something huge, weaken Sword Woman to as near 0 ATK as possible, and ram her into Lava Golem twice (I forget what I used, but there was a way to bring her back after attacking immediately). Since the opponent takes all the damage, they should be low enough that you can just end your turn, and Lava Golem's effect will kill them in their Standby Phase. Using anything to raise Lava Golem's ATK naturally works nicely here, and in the modern era where people pull out high ATK monsters quite easily, you might not even need it. Any beater you can suicide into works as long as you make sure to lower Swords Woman's ATK.
Duel Links Don’t know if they have Power of the Guardians and/or Inion Warriors . But Switch has Phantom Knight traps so you just need Double Attack with Lv5+ to use it!
Swordswoman is like that pilot from independence day who was kinda nuts. Yeah she will die, but damn if she can't take the enemy with her, and I am not just talking about the card, I mean your opponent! Seriously swords woman was very much a wilp (warrior I love to play.) ❤
You know what the stupidest part of this archetype really is tho? The "ess" after Amazon. All Amazon's are female, making the "ess" completely redundant.

Hey, for the most part it's really fair. Searching is rare, special summoning is hard, and increasing ATK is the best way to go. As a current KoG I can attest to Amazonesses being pure bullshit, archetype-specific battle AND effect protection (ffs Dramatic Rescue lets you SS BEWD from hand), effects to pop cards going off during battle phase, reflecting damage when you manage to bring out big beaters, just pure bullshit. And Tiger, Tiger is just 2 or 3 cards in one with his effect being the equivalent of some of the best equip spells currently in the game. Chain Master is a -1 unless you empty your hand which is really bad unless you'll finish the duel this turn. The game isn't ready for something like this, at least Suijin spam is beatable.
At least Amazoness had a specific goal in mind. And Village is actually a pretty decent card. I also used to like Amazoness Sage in control decks; if you could back her up with traps she could put lots of pressure on the opponent.

It is a real shame that such beautiful cards such as the Amazons are currently as they are. In Mythology they were proud women who fought against a lot of the ancient demons/creatures. They should be an amazing deck which allows players to really think bout their plays during the battle phase, cuz lets face it. todays game is "ok, so i´ll bounce everything you have to your deck and then I´ll OTK you... or nuke the field which one do you prefer?"

Wanna know something funny? While we've had cards in the past with stuff like "except Frog the Jam" or "except Red-Eyes B. Chick," Amazoness Archer was originally named "Amazon Archer," and so early Amazoness card effects that affected Amazoness had to also specifically include Amazon Archer, until her names was changed to be a proper part of the Amazoness archetype..

Well, there was a time Amazoness Onslaught wasn't limited. That trap is effing OP. Even with it getting limited now, it still could make up to Legend using Mana Dragon Zirnitron to recycle it.

This series has inspired me to take your suggestions and try remaking these archetypes (mainly Venom) and testing the creation as proxies, love your Venom video by the way it is so true, they have great support cards (half of them) just not enough cards in general and vennominaga to hard to summon.

Activate Shamanism, dump all your girls and resummon them or grab anything better from grave. *5. Activate Zero Gravity or have Final Assault Order on the field* 6. Attack with your fully refreshed harem of thicc anime girls again while screaming YUUUUUUUUGIIIIIIOOHHH! at your opponent, and then wake up realizing that it was just a dream and you need to change pajama.

It's really heartbreaking how close to functional the deck is with the later support. Hopefully the newly announced stuff will make it playable because it's *so* close to good. With somewhat generic support like Psychic Wheeleder, Isolde, or Neo Space Connector as an engine, it can actually put up a minor fight, but it can only somewhat play through 1-2 pieces of interruption.
That guy who went to the Bathroom at school to wank I used to kill with this deck! no extra deck, just had to put the double solemn warning (when it was 2) solemn judgement and mirror force (back when it was awesome) along with magic cylinder and triple solidarity. only use warrior types. it was a lot of fun to play. they don't suck it just depends on how you use them.
Nuck Figgers oh no I agree they can't stand up to today's but to say they were never good is bs. I'd like to look at mine again and see if there is something I can Do. but bringing them to what the once we're is not possible
It's funny how, in Duel Links, Amazoness is a legit Tier 1 deck in spite of how bad it is in real life. That just proves any archetype can be good with a little format tweaking! ...Except Neo-Spacians. They're doomed for all of eternity.

You know what a fun replacement effect for Amazoness Village would be? [Amazoness Monsters gain 1000 Atk when attacking an opponent's monster. If your opponent has no monsters on their field, Amazoness Monsters are immune to your opponent's Card Effects and cannot be destroyed by your opponent's Card Effects. If an Amazoness Monster is attacked, the opponent's monster that attacked is destroyed at the end of the battle phase.] Basically it just turns the Amazons into skilled fighters in a story sense. They can't be killed on their home turf without extracting a liter of blood from you in return. Basically my thought is that the field spell forces a duel between the attacking monster and the Amazoness, and whether the Amazoness wins or loses, that monster isn't getting out alive from the pit of Amazons surrounding them.
I honestly feel that the description you give into the ability and synergy of how archetypes suck is really insightful. I would really like you put this insight and description into more viable archetypes that players may not be able to grasp easily.
Can the Archfiend Archetype count as Worthless? No, i am not talking about Red Dragon and so forth, but rather about the *original* Archetype. As in, i'm pretty sure this one was one of *the* first Archetypes to exist. (If you still don't know what i'm talking about, i mean the Chess-themed ones who use "Pandemonium" as their Field Spell)
The chess Archfiends aren't so much bad as horribly dated. Terrorking was a legitimate threat in his day; he was a 2k beater with minor protection and an anti-floating-and-Flip-Effects ability in a time when Fiber Jar, Cyber Jar, and Witch of the Black Forest were all legal. The others were mostly mediocre, though.
Came here originally to point out the new support in Legendary Duelists, which also gave them two new searchers which also cover the archetypes backrow, but then you theorized that the fusions would take forever to hit the TCG and I snorted out loud

For anyone wondering why "The Unfriendly Amazon" wasn't errata'd into an "Amazoness" monster like Archer was, it's because its Japanese name is "Ally-Killing Lady Knight," making it unrelated to the archetype. I think the idea to call it "The Unfriendly Amazon" was because Mai used it in the anime and she was running a weird Harpie/Amazoness hybrid deck at the time. And no, I don't get why she used despite it being unrelated to her deck, other than it being a decent-for-the-time beatstick that kind of makes sense with her personality -it wanting to be alone on the field and not valuing potential allies.

The other issue I had with Amazoness Tiger is that it's a Beast type, in an archetype of nothing but Warriors, so you couldn't consistently run cards like Solidarity which require your graveyard to be nothing but one monster type.
This was still early Yugioh Archetype building. There were a lot of these different type cards in Archetypes. It made no sense but back then it did not matter that much.
Here are some some cards that fix problems with this archetype :-) Amazoness Penthesilea Attribute EARTH Types Warrior / Effect Level 6 ATK / DEF 2400 / 1800 When An Amazoness monster you control is Destroyed you may Special Summon this card. When An Amazoness monster you control is Destroyed place a Spear Counter on this card. Once on either player's turn you may remove a Spear Counter on this card to destroy one monster on the field. When this card is Destroyed decrease the Attack and Defense of an opponent's monster to 0. Amazoness Lyce Attribute EARTH Types Warrior / Effect Level 4 ATK / DEF 1900 / 1800 When this monster is Summoned place one Spear Counter on this card. Once on either player's turn you may remove a Spear Counter on this card to destroy one monster on the field.When An Amazoness monster you control is Destroyed place a Spear Counter on this card. Amazoness Aella Attribute EARTH Types Warrior / Effect Level 4 ATK / DEF 2000 / 300 After this card Attacked an opponent's monster, you must destroy an Amazoness monster you control, this card gains 500 Attack and must Attack again. Amazoness Reinforcements Type Spell Card Property Continuous When an Amazoness monster is removed from the Field, you may Banish an Earth type monster from your graveyard to add an Amazoness card from your deck to your hand. Great video. Funnily enough, for a while Amazoness were a popular deck at my locals for some reason. I cant wait to see what archetype you will tackle next, Steelswarm and Aliens are a favorite of mine and I'd love to see your opinion on them. Noble Knights are other of my favorite archetypes but they arent as bad, I think.
Two Twin Twister One Raigeki I mean I wouldn’t really make a case for Vehicroids, but the other two are playable now. Not meta or anything, but they’ve been improved significantly.
Eh, I still have fun with the Archetype. Combining Amazoness Trainee with Moon Mirror Shield is great when it works. Also, using Card of Demise with other floodgates is fun.
Good question actually; If there wasn't for the incessant mic buzzing in earlier episodes, it would probably be Neos or Vehicroids, but right now it's definitely the Dark Scorpion/Venom/B.E.S one
great episode, personally, heres what i would do to fix the archtype while still keeping in the theme of the archtype itself :) Amazoness: Monsters Amazoness Scouts: allow it to special summon itself from the hand if you control a face-up amazoness card, or your opponent controls more cards then you, also make its tribute effect instead a continous effect while it is face-up on the field. Amazoness Blowpiper: change its defense to 1900, allow it to switch itself to defense position when normal summoned, and chance its main effect to "once per turn, during either players turn, you can target one monster on the field, negate that monsters effects and make its attack and defense get reduced to 0 until the end phase (even if this card leaves the field or gets flipped face-down). Amazoness Tiger: Remove the "can only control 1 amazoness tiger" effect, and let this card be able to special summon itself while you control a face-up "amazoness" card. also when he attacks, negate the effects of any monster he battles, including when their effects in the graveyard or banished zone. effectively this would let it deal very well with anything from gladiator beasts, to shadolls, to blue eyes. Amazoness Sage: boost it to 1600 1400 stat line, make it immune to trap cards, and allow it to attack directly. Amazones Archer: boost it to 1800 0 stat line and change the damage inflicted to 2500. also this card can be special summoned (once per turn) from the graveyard if you control a face-up "amazoness" cards. Amazoness Trainee: make it level 3, reduce its stat line to 800 1300, add "if you control a face-up "amazoness" card, you can special summon this card from the hand", remove the "attack boost on monster destruction effect" and replace it with this one "this card gains 200 attack for every card your opponent controls or in their hand." Amazoness Fighter: add these effects: "any monster this card battles gets destroyed at the end of the damage step. when this card battles, your opponent cannot activate any card or effects until the end of the damage step. this card can attack twice each battle phase, and this cards effects cannot be negated." Amazoness Swords Woman: change her attack to 1700. add an additional effect "while this card is in the graveyard, once per turn you can target one face-up amazoness monster you control: your opponent takes all battle damage you wouuld have taken from battles involving the monster this card is equipped to." Amazoness Chain Master: Change it to be the anime effect, letting you grab any 1 card from your opponents hand or deck. no other changes. Amazoness Paladin: have her make all face-up amazoness monsters you control gain 100 attack for every face-up monster on the field. also add this effect: "while this card remains face-up on the field, amazoness cards you control cannot be targetted or destroyed by card effects, except this card. if the spell trap is face-down, reveal it to your opponent, and if it is revealed to be an amazoness card, then the card that targetted it or tried to destroy it is negated until the end of the turn." Amazoness Queen: raise her attack up to 3000, make her level 9, and change her effects completly to this: "this card can be tribute summoned by tributing 1 "amazoness" monster. while this card remains face-up, face-up amazoness cards you control (besides this one) are unaffected by your opponents card effects and cannot be destroyed by battle. once per turn, during either players turn, if this card gets targetted or would be destroyed (either by battle or card effect) you can tribute 1 other amazoness monster you control to negate and destroy the card trying to target or destroy it." Amazoness Spellcaster: yes i am changing it from a spell card to a monster, same artwork though. its stat line is level 1, dark, spellcaster, with 0 attack and 1200 defense. it has the following effects "while you control a face-up amazoness monster, you can special summon this card from the hand. once per turn, during either players turn (even during the damage step), you can target one face-up monster you control and one face-up monster your opponent controls, switch their original attack, defense, and effects until the end of the turn. Spells Amazoness village: change its attack boost to instead boost attack and defense by 500. make it so the card never misses timing. keep its second effect but remove the once per turn restriction. add a third effect, "once per turn, during either players turn, you can tribute one monster your opponent controls to special summon 1 "amazoness" monster from your hand or graveyard. while you control another face-up amazoness card, this card is unaffected by your opponents card effects." Amazoness Heirloom: change its once per turn destruction protection to also cover being destroyed by effects, keep its third effect intact, and add a fourth and fifth effect. "when the equipped monster attacks your opponent cannot activate spells, traps, or monster card effects until the end of the damage step" "once per turn, if this card is in your graveyard or banished zone, you can shuffle it back into your deck and draw 1 card." Amzoness Fighting Spirit: change its effect to read the following: "if an "amazoness" monster battles an opponents monster, you may make the attack power of the amazoness monster equal to the attack power of the opponents monster it was battling, also any attack changes to the oppnents monster applied during the battle are automatecly applied to yours too. once per turn, if an "amazoness" monster you control gets destroyed, draw 1 card." the effect is worded that way to basically mean that, if your opponent is using honest, you automatecly get the boost too immediately after their boost is calculated. sadly, this still won't let you get over utopia the lightning :( , the card i hate the most out of any. Traps Queen's Pawn: make it be a continous trap, make it not care about whether they go to the gaveyard or not, and no i am not changing it to be once per turn. also, add the subtext (idk what else to call it) of "this card always count's as an amazoness card. Amazoness Shamanism: only change i would make it letting you special summon amazoness from the graveyard +1. since village won't miss timing now, it will really combo with it now. Amazoness Archers: make the 500 attack loss be instead "lose 500 attack for each face-up amazoness monster you control". also add the following effects: "any monster destroyed this turn by battle are banished instead, and any monster your opponent controls that does not get destroyed by battle this turn or banished gets returned to the deck instead." Dramatic Rescue: change its effect to this: "activate only when an "amazoness" card you control gets targetted (for battle or by card effect): return the targetted monster to the hand, then negate and destroy the card that targetted it, and if you do, special summon 1 monster from your hand, graveyard, or deck." Amazoness Willpower: change its effect to this. "target 2 amazoness monsters in your graveyard and special summon them in attack position. they cannot change their battle position (even by other card effects), must attack if able, and cannot be destroyed by battle. if both monsters are removed from the field, destroy this card." now i know what you might be saying. "wheres the searchers? wheres the extra deck monsters?" well the deck honestly doesn't need much in the way of searching beyond the field card, which can be searched with terraforming, and because of the changes i made to the field card you can swarm straight out of the deck alot easier, especially with combining with giant rat, effectively meaning drawing any monster plus the field spell or terraforming is a good hand. also there is a plethora of anime only cards that could easily fill in some of the holes i didn't cover here, but i tried my best to stay within the original spirit of the archtype (as i always do).
if anyone is interested in seeing it, i also made a list of changes i would do for gladiator beasts, even though they are far from a bad archtype, they are my favorite archtype. just let me know if anyone wants to see it, i doubt anyone will though honestly xD.
After playing Duel Links, I was surprised to see that the archetype was never good in the card game. (Amazoness is Tier 1, even after limiting Onslaught to 2, with Spellbooks, Masked Heroes and Fur-Hires at the moment). Now that I've watched the video, seeing that Onslaught and Princess came later, I can understand why it wasn't that good when it first came out and I understand why it isn't competitive now.
As a fan of the archetype who only recently found your channel, I was simultaneously delighted to find you covered it and disappointed to find it in your LotW series. I really feel you're underestimating the way the deck played. Consider a full field Tiger and Archers, for example, forcing the entire opposing field to run headlong into a net 3700 pit of death, or Swords Woman using Heirloom to sock a giant beatstick in the face, dealing damage to the opponent, and then destroying the monster for good measure, clearing the way for a full attack. Queen lets you use Heirloom an infinite number of times, pairing well with Tiger's lure effect and Archers. All this being said, I get that their whole strength in numbers schtick is just too primitive to keep up with newer archetypes, but would the addition of Onslaught and Princess alter your review any?

i think a trap along the lines of "Activate when your opponent declares an attack. You may choose the attack target and that monster cannot be destroyed by battle and all monsters your opponent controls must attack if able" would be great although that might be a bit too broken
Hey Rank 10! Great job on 8000 subscribers. Would you ever consider doing a Legacy of the Worthless for the Alien archetype? I don't know much about it but I heard that calling it lack luster would be the greatest compliment they ever received through out time and space. What are your thoughts?

RANK10YGO First B.E.S and now Amazoness support, granted not something that would make them tier 0 but at least it helps with the archetypes to an extent. We can hope that this doesn't end up pulling a Flanvell where they completely change the focus of the Archtype making it somehow worse.
Legacy of the Worthless - Jurrac because nothing says genius archetype like having a lvl 10 signature monster nuke the entire field when summoned just to summon a tuner with, at best, 1700 atk.
But guess in what game amazoness are golden,DUEL LINKS of course.3 monster zones 3 spell/trap zones and deck with minim of 20 cards.#BUFFAMAZONESSTIGER.

I know someone already asked this, but seeing the new battle trap, new monsters, a personal better E-call for the deck, and fusions are either released, or going to be released, will there be an update to the overall score in a new video, or are you just going to say that the support does so little to actually support that it simply isn't worth the effort?
I always ran full playsets of A Forces in my Amazon deck way back in like 2006-2007. It makes the entire deck much more threatening especially amazoness paladin.
