He doesn't swear, he's good with ladies and his one-liners are iconic. A real action hero. And Paul Mercier is a legend #re4remake #residentevil4 #residentevil4remake

@@exzobree9158 Cuz the remake set up a more serious theme compare to the OG. Although Saddler isn't as fun like he used to be but we finally got some lore about him. People tend to forget he was the big bad of RE4
"Where's everyone going? Bingo?" Leon says after having a near-death encounter fighting an entire village, blocking a chainsaw with a knife and getting run over by a flaming cow.
My man charms Ada enough to get her help. Makes Ashley want some "overtime" after an entirely traumatic ordeal. And still finds time to flirt with Hunnigan.
Some people say he was too goofy in this game but you gotta remember RE4 is an intense nerve wracking experience for the first time player. You need some goofy shit to let people relax
A healthy dose of comedy always works well alongside any genre of fiction. RE4 serves as a self aware parody of campy/over the top horror films so I think it actually benefits from it. (Saddler even references this in his final encounter with Leon)
This is so true. The chainsaw man used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid and now that I'm older, it doesn't bother me as much but the comedy definitely doesn't take away from how scary certain parts of the game can be. Regenerators still creep me out in both the old game and the remake lol.
When you know, you know. It's supposed to be the other way around, because Dante came into being from RE4 Leon. What would be better to say is: Dante is Leon if he was a demon. Or rather Leon is the Dante of RE like Dante is the Leon of DMC.
I heard that before releasing og Resident evil 4, Capcom wanted to give Leon lighter in the inventory at the start of the game when you search for the cop but I don't know why, at that time Leon was still smoker. Maybe Capcom wanted us to smoke the herbs as Leon So Leon could trip whole game 😂
Resident Evil games always were like low budget terror movies from the 80's, just watch the original intro of Resident Evil 1 for PSX, that's the quality of plot and actors performance you would get if RE were movies. I think they tryed to make it more dramatic and seriour since RE5.
It isn't meant to be that's what makes it so funny. Any other human being on planet Earth would be piss terrified of the shit Leon has to deal with in RE4 but og re4 Leon is a space alien who just action hero oneliners his way through the endless horrors, roundhouse kicking and suplexing cultists and monsters alike. They could have easily made 4 terrifying and it is at times until Leon breaks the ice with some dumbass quip and suplexes his enemy so hard their head explodes.
Paul Mercier was in God Mode at this time. He gave us the coolest and most charismatic version of Leon whilst also lending his voice to the now-iconic Merchant in the same game.
One of my favourite details of this Leon is at 5:47 where he doesn't know where to look. He's half confused by her sudden departure and bewildered by Ada's ass
Probably to a Spanish area where the US arranged for some forces to have a rendez vous with him and Miss Graham I actually want to see what that goodbye between him and Ashley looked like if it were possible..
Now, Nick Apostolides did a _genuinely_ fantastic job providing the voicework for Leon for a distinctly more dark and moody version of 4... but *_GOD_* Paul Mercier's performance as Leon, especially in the OG version of 4, will always be my favorite take on the character and will always have a special place in my heart.
I mean new one is still goofy, but in a way that's more realistic. Old re4 leon doesn't seem like a character, just a bunch of one liners (as great as they are). Now he delivers some of those same one liners without sounding like he wants to sell me something.
Re4: He's pretty cheeky agent, handsome and badass move with unbroken knife Re4 remake: good graphics, good at parrying, handsome but rather gloomy and more mature.
Yeah I guess because he was very gloomy in RE6 they want to show how he got there. He's more of a boy scout in the remakes, makes sense for a Kennedy 😜
I actually enjoy the remake and it's mature Leon. Both games suit their own purposes, but there's no doubt that both ARE good games in their own right.
Old > he's emotionally stable , they teavh you at the CIA and Ops to congrol yoir emotions and PTSD . Leon copes with them by humour and hides it . He's also quicker and cooler as shown in ada vs leon scene
I actually miss the chill and cocky personality of Leon's.. he is so much more fun when he's chill and mocks the enemy.. unlike the new serious one.. Edit: thanks for 1k likes 😍
The new one has his moments and maybe more realistic.. but Leon was supposed to have a personality where he can joke and be cheesy at times but know when and where to be serious.. The new one is kinda always uptight..
You should definitely try looking like him more than sounding like him if you wish to get the ladies' attention. He turns heads for that reason, that's right! Not just because he breaks necks
OG RE4 aged like a fine wine 🍷 this is forever my no.1 RE game in my life Im excited for the remake 🔥, i understand it's more suitable for new players but i'm afraid the feels will not be the same like og
I play the demo, no worries as myself also an OG enjoyer you still play it like the good old days. Tho they make many improvement which good, the ganados is more wild so it's fine to add a bit of action. The fact you can parry things is crazy lol
praying 2 god that it does bc i'd LIKE to play it and i'll probably watch a bit of a playthru to get a feel for original but i am Scared that i'll be shit at playing it bc it's a game genre i'm not used to lol
so far remakes have done a rlly good job for introducing me to source material though. ff7r was pretty damn good and got me to play the original and learn how it works lol
@@Euskalbikoizketak Which given the shit he went through, is 100% reasonable. I’m fine with RE being campy and stupid, but yeah Leon’s gone through some shit so him being more serious is understandable. Plus so far he’s still a snarky smartass. Just goes about it differently
The series went from being inspired by B-movies, to trying to be like a AAA movie. Honestly can't see the remake having the same tone or willingness to have fun (minecart segment aside)
@@baronluigi2738 The bingo is off now. Did you not see the whole new area? There are literally corpses and blood all around before you get to the village, tone is totally different.
@@EdgardR. People fail to realize that RE4 was scary for it’s time. However they need to add more “horror pizzazz” in order to scare or creep out people nowadays. It’s still a village full of dead shit and crazy possessed villagers trying to kill you. They just made it more foreboding and scary. They did the same stuff for RE2 Remake and look how that was
@@MultiNatla Man, it would've gone more than hard. It would've gone *BASED*. We would've had the freedom to laugh at women and say the n word with hard R.
Coming here from watching one episode of playthrough of the remake make me think that remake Leon seems more depressed and traumatised and is trying to cope with it. The OG RE4 Leon seems like he eats trauma and PTSD for breakfast and savours em just for the fun of it. 😂😂😂
Remake Leon is like an emo teenager going through puberty who doesn't want to do his homework. Like, he doesn't sound like he went through all those grueling years of training he keeps complaining about
@@raaaaawrbin I actually like it better. He sounds more depressed and traumatized because of his experience in Racoon City unlike the og where he is a bit too positive about everything. And the training is showing? Through the way he fights?
@@catodes1295 His main pain point for being so emo in remake is the tough training he went through after being forced to work for the president, not Racoon City. The disgruntledness is childish and he keeps sounding like he hasn't done enough cardio when you run a bit and can't handle a bit of dust in his eye when the wind blows It's up to you if you like remake Leon better, people here are just pointing out the fact that it's an entirely different character
I know the remake is going for a more realistic and visceral tone but OG Leon has such chad energy he is so cool not saying Remake Leon is bad or anything is just OG is just that guy.
Leon went from rookie cop in a viral outbreak to the most dangerous/hilarious thing against BOWs. Paul really made this game even better from the already great gameplay. Which is why it's a masterpiece.😁
Look at the real Leon Kennedy. Paul Mercier. Not only he voiced Leon but also Merchant. To this day, Mercier wasn't topped by the new Leon in remake, even Ashley knows he's boring and that's coming from her lol
Had they made the remake like the original it would have just been cringy. Just accept that the newer one is more realistic. Man people like you are annoying, holding on to outdated stuff that just wouldn't be good nowadays... Chronically online mf
I don't think being the type of guy that hooks up with Marilyns, !areies Jackies, and have everyone in between and neither fawn over him is in the metaphorical sense a virgin my bro😊 Edit: Let's not forget all the straight dudes he probably turned gay either 😝 he sure made a lot of people question their sexuality. Leon Sigma male Kennedy. There internet, I've sucked the metaphorical ba*** of your beloved Chad, now gimme likes! 🤣🤣😎
I hope the flirting with Hunnigan is still there in the Remake. Leon really said to Ashley who was trying to score to him that Ada is like a part of him he can't let go 😍then flirts with Hunnigan cuz Ada left him again 😭
