Yeah, the mostly metal construction makes this launcher heavier than the real thing. The thing is a beast. It and my HDB 68 are my favorite of the Umarex line.

Yeah the HDX .68 is such a nice gun, i love my 40 joule HDX .68, i did put a reflex sight and a light/laser combo on it and its a blast to shoot with, and its quit accurate for shooting those big balls :P

Hey Jon. It seems we may never get the HDX 68 40 Joules version in the United States. I noticed that it has been moved up again now to around July of 2024. I recall the Hammer taking what seemed to be forever to be released. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the SHOT show.

Enjoying the enthusiasm. Have you heard when the 40 Joule version is coming to the US? I thought I saw something about early next year for that version. I checked the specs for the hdx68 showing the weight to be just under 6.3 lb. I had a Remington 870 which was a little under 8 lb. What I don't care for on the high-powered 40 Joule version from umarex is that it's going to be apparently orange and black for the US market. It would be nice if they offered it in the same color the lower powered versions are. Thank you for your testing and I hope you stay healthy.

Yeah I finally received my HDX 68 after waiting almost seven months. Nit really impressed with the power stock. My biggest concern is opening this weapon up to upgrade it. I have a HDP 50 and just added the power kit for it. Pretty easy install but the shotgun is wayyyyyy more complicated then the hand gun. Decisions decisions ….

Oh yeah! The .68 is quite a bit better after the mod. Just go slow and steady. Don’t rush and take pictures of every step. The internal mods on the shotgun are a bit more complicated but I suspect worth it … We shall see :)

With the mod to hdp50 I get exactly 6 shots. So reloading CO2 after the speed loader would save some time. Need to buy 2 of them. What's email for ordering? Thanks. Love your vids. Keep on the great work.

Hey Brother! Not only that... but I now have the full power unblocked and pre installed C02 restricted version of the valves available for the HDB, TR50, and the HDP50 (While they last) .. You're the first person Ive told :)@@Joreel

On the 7.5 joule shotgun, there should be an "F" next to the serial number. This denotes it's a 7.5 joule shotgun which is the max allowed in Germany. The 11 and 40 versions are legal outside Germany. Well the 40 isn't actually legal in California, only the 7.5 and the 11 Joule versions... Something about 40 joules with metal balls being considered lethal under California law.

Greets!! Yea indeed. Now I did find an interesting anomaly which is why I didn’t mention the “F” mark. I received both of these at the same time from Umarex. One is the 7.5J and one is the 11J version. However, the F was still present and there were no there defining marks to indicate which was which. I asked them about this but got no response (yet). It’s on my question list for them at Shotshow next week! :)

Happy Thanksgiving Jon. I'm curious to know if you've heard anything on the HDX 68 40 joules model coming to the US. I have seen a website or two that now show it expecting to be available in February of 2024. I'm beginning to wonder if they're actually going to bring it to the United States. I have called Umarex in Arkansas and they don't have an answer or acknowledgment of it at all. Thanks for your contributions to the Less lethal community.

So the ones you sell on your website, how many joules are they? I know they can come in 7.5, 11, and others have been modified to 32-40 joules. I’d love to buy one, but the more power the better.

Greetings. An individual claims that they purchased the 40 j o u l e version in the US all black no orange. I haven't seen it available in the first place in any color in the US in the 40 Joule factory rating. Only the lower powered versions which are all black anyway. Has your distributor said otherwise? Do you know if this could have been ordered from another country? Thanking you in advance.

Yeah, they have told me, repeatedly, that they can't get them. I suppose they may have ordered overseas and had it shipped here. I've been dying to tear one down for a side by side comparison. :)

Another person asked them if they could tell him where they purchased it from and they advised something about it was limited and they weren't going to give that information out. I don't even know if they can order that from another country. Maybe it's just a wannabe. Greets! You would need to check the laws up there. I know that NY is a lot like NJ and CA when it comes to these. Generally, you can have the gun but NOT the pepper balls. Id verify just to be safe.
