Have to agree with these others, it's never a fail if you find something that needs fixin'. Pleasant surprise though when it's not as bad as you imagined.

I own an 800 series Ford tractor and you can't leave them sit for any length of time without pinning the clutch down (It is designed that way) There should be a place to put a pin to hold the clutch open, when sitting idle for any period of time.

Finding the two bolts missing on the front end was worth the entire project. Someone could have been hurt pretty bad.

A mechanical video is always informative and never a waste of time, you can bet it helped someone. Thanks for your effort.

Engineers build NUT and BOLT head size different so you can use one set of wrenches. Rather than having 2x 3/4" wrenches, etc.

Reminds me of the time we split grandads 1964 David brown 990 to install a clutch. Weird clutch system indeed. 2 separate discs one for the pto and one for the transmission

The only standard bolt I Know of that uses a different size wrench for the head and nut. Is a 7/16. Which uses a 5/8 for the head and a 11/16 for the nut. There are bolts and nuts out there. That are standard sizes. That uses odd size wrenches. But they are few and far better.

I wouldn't say you failed. That clutch needed some attention. Get it cleaned up and inspected. Put in what few new parts it needs All adjusted correctly. Should be good for many years to come!

Had a few of those tractors, most were the standard 4 speed h pattern, I truly hated to 2 industrial units with the rotating 5 speed shifter, they were a royal PITA, and the 1 extra gear didn't do much in way of performance of operation

Chuck E, I enjoyed watching your videos on your previous channel before you & RU-vid stopped being friends, I enjoy your videos because you showed us how you work on equipment and all of your welding tips. And yes, welding is great for people with good eye sight. What ever you do don’t walk to close to my welds, you might rip your shirt off or even worse, have to get stitches (thought you needed a laugh). Are you making new content or is saved content your posting?

NO, it was not a waste of time now you know what the inside looks like before i would take off more of the inspection plates up too now you have it apart paint it ?
