There's an anchor upgrade you can put into the digital miner that automatically chunkloads the chunk the miner is in, so you don't need to remember to chunkload the area manually, in case you didn't know.
@@natchx6040 in this pack flux points has it turned off. But anchor upgrades goes to quantum-something from Mekanism. Loaded chunks limit on map is way to small do I use this.
Want decent lava bucket automation? Put a crafter on a mekanism tank, it can insert the bucket and lava at the same time and pull out a bucket of lava. Best lazy recipe i ever thought of.
FYI - you haven't had to point the Industrial Foregoing Laser at bedrock for a long time now - you just have to set the depth and go to town with it. you can even have it fully encased in lasers :D There is a chunk loader (Anchor) for the Mek drill as well.
Another thing I see many people who have played with older IF, they keep putting 4 laser drills with one space from core and that's it, while you can easy have 64 laser drills per laser drill base because laser drill just has to have base in from of it in 3x3x3 area.. tho fully upgraded setup like that chews through 64kRf/t
I think dire needs an update on Industrial foregoing. The laser have a 3x3 area each, meaning you can place when 1 above, 1 below and up to 3 spaces away from the base. No spacing away from base needed. But i also think IF is pretty unintuative and could do with a but of a refresh/update itself, lol.
Should use silk touch with the digital miner and run the ores through a pulverizer or grinder, you'll get way more emeralds/diamonds/redstone/etc. that way.

i used rftool to make dimensions for ancient debris, iron blocks, and nether quartz. Its kinda like using the mekinism miner but no need to miss out on the fortune, working on getting the requirements for uranium dimension too.
the processing addon doesn't work in all machines for instance, the dissolution chamber can't increase it's output since it's essentially just "advanced crafting", if you could triple the output of that it would break the entire mod :p
Didn't flux points have a chunk loading option? Isn't that more efficient to do than to use FTB chunks as you are less likely to forget it since you use the same point on the digital miner
If you have problem with uranium, maybe you could create an infinie source of molted uranium using Create. Pool of molted uranium with 5 000 source blocks and Create "pump" will do the trick, identical to what you do with lava.
Just toss the anchor upgrade into the miner.... Also, if you silk touch the diamonds, you can get more from the enrichment chamber, or mechanical squeezer.
I think the laser depth might be a measure of how far down it's aiming, rather than where it's targeting. Notice how it defaulted to 88, which was the same as its Y level. So a depth of 83 would make it aim at y=5 rather than setting the depth to 5.
Pretty sure they didn't implement it that way. Relative depth makes no sense for the laser since you always want to target certain y levels. 88 would then mean the laser just mines at it's own location which is fine

also SILK TOUCH those babies in the ditigal ore miner, and send them thru 3x or 4x mekanism ore processing (you have the salt that you need for the purification chamber already via the brine, so you might as well jump straight to 4x) gold, iron, lead, tin, uranium, all benefit. Oh yeah, and copper, but god we have enough copper by now, don't we?
I built a create cobbleworks that had diferent speeds depending on how much i needed at the time. All redstone controlled wirelessly so i could up say clay creation if needed
Ore Laser are a cool miner, not op (Like Void Miners :P) yet cheap and useful when you don't need ores per tick... (Like Void Miners... again... geez that thing is op! XD)
I miss the days of the world eater machines. With the moving frames :( in i think 1.13 i had a world eater with silk touch and all the resources where sorted and stuff line redstone was placed in frond of a thaumcraft miner with fortune 3 and a core wirh fortune 3 or something for mass efficiëntie.
1.13 didn't exist afaik, 1.12 would be the closest but there was only a beta of thaumcraft. Thaumcraft and especially frames are probably from a way older version, 1.2.5 to 1.7.10 or so. 2015 has some arcane bore on funky locomotion frame builds.
hey dire, a recommendation for generating ores, try using the botania flower that turns stone into ores that way you can use a mana fortune pickaxe. Only cost would be mana for generating ores and repairing the pickaxe. Another thing to note, I'm not sure what mod adds this but there are special tomes that will add one level of enchantment to your tools that can go beyond the standard level. Fortune 3 can become Fortune 4. Only way to get them is through dungeon loot but luckly there is a flower that generates dungeon loot.
Am I the only one that gets annoyed at the way dire ends up using the digital miner? Edit cause I don't want to make a bunch of comments: so for drawers and inventories that keep themselves in stock. Like this that rely on backstuffing. (This applies to the auto obsidian thing too) I think it's actually a better idea to give it a lowish priority. Why? Because then if you grab say obsidian and put it in the system. The system will use the obsidian that isn't coming from the generator first. What does this do? Well mostly it keeps your drives from filling up with like cobblestone or wood or what have you.
AE2 says exactly that higher priority inserts first and extracts last but I don't know if it's the same in RS. So drawers should always be higher than the drives if you're using AE2.
