@@MrWillipea honestly no idea. Ive never had the option to play modded (no comp) So i dont really pay too close of attention. But it just kinda vanished.
@@sturmifan just correction. Azanor (TC Author) give all rights and code to Thermal Expansion's dev (KingLemming ?). And thaumcraft 6 released by new dev. After that new dev just stopped to maintain a project. ElementalCraft just... Too far from Thaumcraft. At least at that stage of development P.S. Sorry for my bad english :)
The book does seem to be a bit broken but it seems to work where it really matters (the basics) and everything else is fairly intuitive imo. Main thing ive used elementalcraft for in my world so far are the shrines. First one I ended up using was the budding shrine, which turns earth into amethyst which is a great way to automate amethyst for hex casting. Theres also another shrine i use which speeds up the rate at which certain blocks operate which was great when automating Botania's Dandelifeon
From Mekanisms site: Please note that while the Electrolytic Separator does take Energy Upgrades, they don't actually affect the machine's energy efficiency, for balancing purposes.
@@n0ame1u1 Well, the problem is that you can burn hydrogen in a generator to get power back, and they need to make sure that is not a infinite energy machine. If anything, they should make it so either the Energy Upgrades are not accepted or have a lower bound set to prevent infinite loops.
@@nikolaysitnikov796 They should either disallow burning hydrogen, or make hydrogen a very bad fuel so it doesn't make an infinite loop. There are downsides to either of these approaches, but it's still better than the current system.
Energy upgrades aren't useless in separators, they still increase their energy buffer, which is necessary in order for it to operate with more than a couple speed upgrades.
@@nikolaysitnikov796 they have already infinite energy loops... one generator with the purple liquit (i never remember the name) output more energy than what you required to create the liquid itself... yes it a more "complex" recipe that only using hydron but with mods is more the tedius of creating the element than anything else... adn you have easily expandable infinite energy... 20 or so genraton power all my base xD and they will never run out of fuel
Im liking laserIO, but i really want a "set it and forget it" situation lategame. It's super finicky inserting all the upgrades to the cards individually, I'm at a point where i have infinite everything so more expensive set of max/100% cards should be a thing.
Dire should also implement covers/facades for the nodes someday. Maybe a slot on the node to put a block in and the node looks like it? With connected texture support obviously. Also a way to hide lasers, to not ruin the purpose of "covers"
As the mod is designed to be a functionally re-imagining replacement for EnderIO it is probably worth asking yourself.. "Did EnderIO have ...." as in did EnderIO have cross dimension transfer, unlimited distance, disguise blocks...if not... likely not a thing for LaserIO. I think it did have covers so maybe....
@@ockerspock3432 I mean, it DID have dimensional transfer/unlimited distance via the Dimensional Transceiver, and also the covers + painting machine thing for disguised blocks (which tbh still remains one of the best implementations of "disguised" and cover pipes in any mod imo)
@@TheFenrir Sorry I should have been more specific... it is a spiritual re-imagining of EnderIO conduits.... EnderIO had a LOT of other machinery but the conduits is the thing so many of us missed as much of the other processes have other options like Dimensional transceiver = Quantum entengeloper.
Something to note about elemental craft nodes, in case it didn't up. If you place a block in the same space as the node, node go byebye. It's nice for when you want one out of your base when building, but be careful when placing extractors and such...
Really enjoying this mod. Has touches of Thaumcraft, with its magic elemental crafting system. One way you could retain access to those elemental items wherever would be to set each on an Ender Chest holding one stack of the raw material, and one stack of the magic one, then put a storage bus on one in your base, and away you go. Using one ender chest for everything would be a great idea too, then you'd be able to store up to 9 raw materials and 9 magically transformed ones.
akashictome is actually going to be changed to eccentrictome as that has some fixes and more book compatibilty, both will be in the modpack for a while and akashictome will get removed on a later version.
just thought id let you know, i was playing around with laser io and ftb industrial contraptions and turns out the energy cards for laser io do not work with ftb industrial , i guess its becasue of its "zaps" units being different from the flux from everything else lol
I remember back when Pneumatic Craft had been using it's own flowers, that there was a pneumatic to EU generator for IC2. I'm not sure if that was ported to the current version of Pneumatic Craft included in Dire's modpack.
@direwolf20 mekanism machine upgrades are fully independent of eachother. you can put 8 energy upgrades and 0 speed. and you get the full benefit of the energy upgrades. should always put 8 energy upgrades in the machines. all they do it makes it use less energy and have more energy capacity.
You can use a half drawer with a storage downgrade(or whatever it is in functional storage, im used to storage drawers) for your Infuser Automation, change the Stock to an Insert and add a Refined Storage Exporter
Ngl, this was kind of crushing. I’m working on a few mods for Minecraft, including one that I was going to gal Elemental Craft that would focus on the basic elements. I have a few ideas that I think are unique, so I guess I’ll see what this mod does.
Hey dire, what about adding process card ? For example for getting drenched iron ingot put 1 process card at the bottom of the node and configure it to where is the process machine and which item to in-out. Maybe it shouldn't have channel system for not doing overpowered, without basic filter just one in and one out item specify, using furnace at recipe etc. Yes, it act like crafter but i dont care and personally i liked the idea.
Is anyone else getting open gl errors and issues with Akashic tomes not working? I also don’t see the red stone cards in laser io. And the mod pack is updated to the latest available version.
Azanor stopped modding somewhere around 1.12 and left thaumcraft to the thermal devs: CoFH / KingLemming. Not sure if someone is working on it but its possible.
Thaumcraft pretty much gets huge one version, the developer behind it burns out hard the next version, and then comes back the next version after that with renewed excitement and motivation, and it just kind of repeats. We're currently on the "I'm burnt out" half of the modded versions of Minecraft
Can someone just tell me how he has access to his Refined Storage network in another dimension? I've watched all of the episodes but the automation clean up one and I don't remember him ever setting up one of those network receiver things.
You put a Network Transmitter in your base, a Network Receiver in the other dimension, then right click it with a Network Card. You then place the Network Card in the Transmitter on your base. Now the Network Receiver (in the other dimension) is part of your network, so you can setup cables, Wireless Trasmitters etc.
@@PokeMasrerJ The FTB launcher runs on Overwolf. I don't think it's _literally_ malware, but it's one of those annoying programs that tries to launch itself whenever you turn on your computer
@@n0ame1u1 Pretty sure it only launches OW where I start the FTB app ....and you can exit it if you want to after the game loads. I don't see an issue myself. I believe a lot of the criticism is more to do with people being offended that ads show up while its loading, some don't like people getting paid for the work they do...even a petty amount.
