The lever gun is a uniquely American invention, and in my opinion it’s the most fun to shoot. Today you’ll see: Uberti Winchester 1873 Winchester 94 Henry H009 Henry .22 Marlin 39A Henry Long Ranger Express Ruger / Marlin 1895 SBL
I have to agree that lever action rifles are handy and fun. There are two I would like to see you do a review on, the Browning BLR with its rack and pinion action is a very smooth system, the other is the Savage 99 which is no longer made but there are lots of them around both use a box or rotary feed which allows pointed bullets. Very fine hunting rifles.
There's a great deal to be said in favor of lever-action rifles, Dave, and thanks for this tip-of-the-iceberg sample. Lever-action shotguns, not so much, IMO. 🤠
The Henry 410 that I shot was pretty slick. Now get into the 20 gauge world and you might have something. I’m guessing somewhere between those two calibers lies some engineering, metallergical, and weight considerations that kept this from happening so far
