Ita actually been studied that veteran pro esports players actually have their heart rates drop and become far less eratic, they have nerves of steel. Levy might start experiencing this now that hes so comfortable fighting people on his level, with only gms causing him to lose nerves.

@kevin-7091 Месяц назад
No, chess is not 90% memory. It is a common misconception by beginners who don't understand what they did wrong, so they blame their loses on their opponents simply knowing more opening moves. There is a lot of subtle positional understanding and ideas that allows you to make better moves. If you gives any position to any players, the one with higher rating will find the better move most of the time. Improving in chess is not all about memorizing opening, it is also about positional understanding and tactics.

3:37 - Why wouldn't Levy take h7 with the bishop? That would either be a free pawn if opponent doesn't want to lose his rook or opponent does take and Levy has a rook instead of a bishop... what am I missing? Does he just prefer to have the bishop in this position?
@jasonzheng5839
@jasonzheng5839 Месяц назад
Then the opponent still has the rook. He’s already up so taking off pieces is good for levy
@HaydenNK3
@HaydenNK3 Месяц назад
Then the bishop is technically pinned or even trapped depending on the line. Imagine you take with bishop, but the opponent just doesn't take. You can't retrieve your bishop because it'd be a discover attack on your rook h1. You'd need to move your king to defend the rook, losing a tempo because you took a free pawn with the wrong piece (or wrong order of piece). Black could continue with his idea of sacrificing the dark square bishop and not really be punished by it. Either because white doesn't have the time to take it back, or either because taking it back allows black to push the f-pawn, making space for the queen to target h7. So basically you'd have an advantage of +2 or +3 to an equal position (something like +0.5). So that's not very interesting
