I like how the Doomsday fake out they did at the beginning of season 2 has come full circle and ultimately wasn't a fake out at all. Having Bizarro show up on Earth in the classic Doomsday containment suit wasn't a clever misdirect but really epic foreshadowing.
When I saw him come through in the suit, I thought it was just a cool Easter egg going back to the comics. I didnt even consider they’d actually make him into Doomsday. I like it, but it’s really a bit too close to Snyders version. I wish they’d been a little more original with his creation in that regard. That being said, I have no other issues with this show! It’s the best DC product we’ve had ina long time.
@@ArthurCallahan389to be fair Snyders version is a reanimated Zod with human dna mixed in. Which actually is far more off the rails than this origin story.
Poor Bizarro. You have to remember all that he's been through even before this. His relationship with his family on his earth was ruined. He tried to make things right and save his world, only to get himself killed. Then his body was used to try and cure cancer, only to bring him back to life losing some semblance of his mind. Now Lex Luthor just kills him over and over again, knowing Bizarro will come back stronger each time, all for the soul purpose of killing Superman. Lex Luthor is a cruel and evil man that represents the worst parts of humanity.
@@Prometheus-SuperBat he literally asked nothing like Wilson, Fisk if you knew the character, you would know that and he literally got outta jail one episode and then this episode was torturing him and doing experiments on him obviously you’re not gonna get all of the science stuff right away but that doesn’t make them anything like kingpin
@@scarecrow730 I know what you’re saying. What I’m trying to say is in my opinion he gives me the same evil vibe Fisk gives. Specifically the MCU version.
Even though this was the Bizarro version of Superman I can help but feel Lex enjoyed killing someone that looks like his greatest enemy over and over again.
Yeah because his intelligence is what makes him dangerous and the connections. The fact he was ready for superman and not going after lois first taking away her protection is how you beat someone.
Poor guy. It was horrifying what he devolved into. It’s easy to forget he was Superman on his world. He was a person with a family who lost nearly everything that mattered to him. Pretty sad.
I love how Cudlitz makes it, too. He's cradling Bizarro's head in a way that almost looks gentle. Like in his own warped way he feels a kinship to Bizarro: they both want Superman dead and are willing to do whatever it takes to do it.
@@BobRooney290this show still cannot compete with Smallville. The lex in Smallville has a natural coldness the trenchcoat the attitude the bossiness the idk I'll experiment on my own wife the mansion in that show. When Smallville came out I was twelve years old and I couldn't stand him at first until I got older and realized wow this man is a fab actor. This show is trying to hard I even prefer the graphics of Smallville. And the Lois lane of Smallville that women took on a whole Kryptonian by herself. The fight scenes in Smallville just the ass kicking alone deserves an award. So no this ain't doing none of the comics justice. Also the actors in this version of Superman aren't terrible actors at all. But I'm a stickler for the old school. That's just my preference but for me the originals did superman a huge justice. Smallville was my childhood had my eyes filled with tears of joy z sadness and frustration. For me every character from Smallville was looking at the comic books even though I never had the chance to read those comics. But the way tom welling played Clark Kent and kal was always to a t and with every single character with Lois being spunky , tenacious and fourth right and Lana going from the popular girl to a superhero herself and lex being so ruthless and cold but also could be your ally a friend. That show helped me understand that not everyone is your friend. The old shows are the best. Just like mash is still the best.
aslo i like how in Man of steel they used Chris Cornell's song Seasons in one scene. and at the end of this episode they used Soundgarden's Blow up the outside world. also a Chris Cornell song and it worked out really well. and its kind of funny hearing the lyrics "nothing... seems to kill me... no matter how hard I try" just at the moment superman realizes doomsday is alive again!
I love how they made this Lex like a genius metalhead with a hint of billionaire sophistication instead of making a t like your stereotypical business mogul
@@tatianaoliveira2191 this lex would rip micheal rosenbaum's lex's head right off as soon as he does one of those dramatic soap opera turnarounds he always does when talking to someone. This Lex isnt a drama queen, he is a beast
I lowkey feel sorry for Bizarro in this show. Had his life uprooted, abandoned on a alternate world, in an alternate universe only to be killed, over and over again and turned into a mindless abomination
@@paulmag5306 bro went from getting bodied in season 2 to revoking clark of his title as the strongest being on the planet its to a point where i think either bizarro kills clark on the moon and comes back to retire jordan before he gets his red and black suit or both clark and bizarro kill each other or as a more slightly happier ending clark just barley manages to end bizarros misery and has to be saved cause of the injuries he has
@@sebastienmagloire1139saddest part is watching their CGI budget go to hell. Go back and watch the first few seasons, it's not perfect but miles better than what it is now. Now it just looks like power rangers level effects.
@@TheScarletSlayerPower Rangers is legendary, if The flash was as good as Power Rangers, it would still be on the air! Power Rangers ran for multiple decades!- it didn’t just have 2 “good” seasons and then lose gas after 9 years. Comparing flash to power rangers is an insult to power rangers 😂
It's a little sketchy lol definitely a lot of feminist supportive scenes like look at how they treat their son with powers. He's always wrong and that trick is always right haha
yeah the flash must have outran all the decent writers they had in season 1. but seriously i noticed that when they started to push the leftist agenda they stopped caring about good writing because it wasnt about the story anymore, it was about pushing an agenda. and in later seasons they just pushed that agenda even harder and made the whole show too cringey to watch. go woke go broke, dillholes
I'm baffled at how the CW doesn't promote this show more. Like, it is an amazing series (the best ever for the CW) and it doesn't even cross a million viewers per episode.
@@Alejo-1111 No it's because CW sucks...it might be a good show but I think everyone has just given up on the network...also doesn't help that they called it superman and lois or shoehorned in some annoying teenagers. Also this shit is...riding off into the sunset...they all lived happily ever after...the end...part of the story.
Yup an old school metal head that is lol! Complete on 80s style cassette tapes with case and I noticed he had Black Sabbath,Tool and Dead Kennedys of a few that I noticed.
I can't help but agree that it is indeed very sad that Bizarro Superman was misunderstood. Regardless of what the writers did, it makes it worse to me.
@@raulbetancourt5795 - Well, yeah. Bizarro was staying there willingly. He could have blitzed through Lex and his guys and left whenever he wanted, but he let Lex kill him over and over to get enough power boosts to kill Superman.
I never thought CW would have the stones to make such a good show, let alone a scene like this. They managed to make the first Lex Luthor that actually creeps me out. Good job
@@ChamarM Nope. I checked that cause I watch it on HBO Max too. It's made by CW. Although recent rumors say that it will completely move to HBO Max should the CW cancel it.
This is really full circle given how Earth 2 superman was introduced. He came in wearing the containment suit for Doomsdayh. Plus this was the Superman that failed he failed his family, his world, he couldn't beat Ally Aston because he wasn't strong enough. If any part of him remembers that he'll let Lex do anything to him if it means not being weak.
There's very few people or bots that understand that Bizarro isn't an evil Superman he's a failed bizarre Superman. I noticed Bizarro Superman didn't have any father figures growing up only his mother.
Bro if he wanted to be stronger all he had to do was fly closer to the sun , the way the may him seem weak never made any sense to me , like why would he risk kryptoniye to get a slight boost when even flying close which is not a big deal considering how quickly superman flew tal roh to the sun
@@lasthope3237 This Bizarro is (was?) weakened by yellow sun hence why he arrived in an enviro-suit similar to what Superman is depicted as doing when he visits Kandor in many versions
@@lasthope3237 Bizarro is the reverse of Clark. We know that the red sun on Earth-2 powered him, but we don't know how his body filtered it's radiation to enhanced him, or even how much of a boost it is. He was also severely outnumbered by Earth-2 Ally, his own son, and Earth-2 Tal-Roh's artificial Kryptonians, which no doubt lead to his idea that he had "failed" the people of his world, just like he had failed his family.
I felt sorry for Bizzaro all he wanted was to protect his home, Family and regain the honour of a Hero he lost so long ago. Only to be turned into Doomsday.
I started watching this show with reservations, but it just gets better and better, the writing , is excellent, the cancer storyline , with Lois, was written with a lot of care, and they didn't take the easy option , she easily gets cured, but highlighted what family's go through , an excellent series.
This lex luthor is probably the most menacing I've seen. They introduced him as a force to be reckoned with with humans and his intelligence shows as well.
This Luthor is genuinely diabolical. Loving it! I have a feeling he’ll be moulding his own Superboy soon enough in Season Four. Michael Cudlitz is so low-key casting that he feels fresh and, unlike many other Luthors, genuinely threatening.
@@alexf.6521 Inverse Ally, Jonathan and Lana should still be in the DOD custody, while the others have an unknown fate(not counting the deaths of Inverse Anderson and Tal) and our Tal is still there alone.
I interpreted that as Bizzaro Clark wanting to die as whatever small bit of humanity left in him is suffering. But then after Lex kills him again and again the more beast like he becomes and the humanity he loses.
Blind Wave's reaction pointed out something neat about how this Doomsday ties into the season. It's basically a cancer in Bizarro growing but keeping him alive instead of killing him tying it neatly to Bruno Manheim and Peia's storyline
Does anyone else notice that Bizzaro was his normal self but a complete opposite to Superman. The moment he died he lost his sanity....the next we see him alive, he's eating rats and has a taste for brains(rips an ear off a guy). Superman questions what Lex did to him, meaning he recognizes Bizarro,Last time they faced off they worked together...But now he's losing his normal kryptonian bizarro side everytime he dies Becoming a mindless, adapting, chaotic, killing spree kryptonian monster
@@mohammedjammeh9598 "And now he's dead".....for now. With them resurrecting Allisson, I have no doubt they would bring Derek back if Tyler agree to return for a future movie (which, if they make one, will hopefully have a script this time so actors actually knows what they film).
@@batmanrocks6727 I'm honestly amaze that they all agreed to make the movie without an actual script, and that no one called out Davis for how messed up it was that a 30 years old had his happily ever after with his recently resurrected 17 years old ex-girlfriend.
In BvS Lex uses some sort of Kryptonite technology and blood from Zod and himself to make Doomsday. Here, Lex just shoots Bizarro with X-K again and again until he becomes like that.
Just like how in comics.. and also krypton series showed how kryptonian made doomsday he was a kryptonian soldier, killed over again & again by different methods to make him invunerable and turned into a monster.. they follow the same route ..... Also DCEU LEX turns kryptonian zod into doomsday where as CWDC LEX turns inverse universe Superman into Doomsday.. so definitely took inspiration from multiple areas....but i highly doubt that lex killed him almost every ways possible because in Kryptonian series it took them years to perfect it finding all the known ways to kill someone..
Wait he was only a "soldier" in the Krypton show,in the books he's not even sentient, he or it is sent out by alien scientists and killed over and over by ancient Kryptonian monsters.
I love/hate how much sense this is these are those little details you don’t see bc just wtf but this really solidifies lex as not just some hyper obsessed billionaire. But also sadistic and willing to do so much for his cause. This is a great lex and fleshed him out more
The point of Doomsday is that he was killed over and over for literal decades. That’s what made him rapidly evolve into an unstoppable beast. Not just being killed a few times for like an hour
Still wasn't Lex author that did it, and 30 days is still way too short compared to what the original went through to get made into what he was, plus it was never bizarro that was doomsday 😅 this show looks incredible honestly, but this is the one thing that gets me
@@jeffedison5964you’re right bro. They did a lot of changes to the original Doomsday. Everything looks good though. I appreciate the fact that you know canon info.
I love how he chose Ministry for his soundtrack to this diabolical act. I have most of the cassettes I recognize in Lex's case. I see some KMFDM, Black Sabbath, Tool, Dead Kennedys, Suicidal Tendencies...and even N.W.A. 😆
I posted a video essay about Superman & Lois 👀 Okay people, what sort of contingency plan do we think Lex has for Bizarro? Like I doubt he’s vain enough to think he can keep control of him forever.
@@Jose_Ithe yellow kryptonite is still dangerous to him it’s just his more durable against it. I guessing what ever depowers Superman and find Bizzaros equivalent.
I loved the twist they did with bizarro becoming doomsday ever since Season 2 first episode, tbh this reminds me so much of Superdoom from New 52 (Srry for bringing up new 52)
My honest opinion, Being a Superman fan all my life, and almost watching every series that contained a Superman V Doomsday battle, Even though throughout the storyline of DoomsDay's origin has been skewed. Superman and Lois was by far the best battle I have seen in years!!!!!!!! This outdid the Justice League 100%!. I hate that they had to twist how Doomsday was created but kinda sorta stayed in the lane of being genetically modified by either Zod and Lex's blood in the Genesis Chamber, but dont get me wrong taking Bizarro and corrupting him to manifest into Doomsday was badass storywriting I need though of that concept and it was on point like a MF so good move!
I cant help bit look at this and think turning him into doomsday is a bonus all he wanted to do was kill superman or something close to superman in all the ways he felt like at the time.
@@TheEmperorOfViltrum yea true true, but this Lex is just cold non- emotional, he like I'm going to get them 17 years back, that's what I mean, he's not having fun with trying to kill Superman always been a game to him, this Lex is serious
I wish he was a little more “mindless” like when Lex told him to get his heart he looked and listened, say what you want about bvs design of doomsday but how THAT doomsday was portrayed was truly mindless attacked anyone near
Never thought I’d see the day someone made me feel something for Doomsday. Brilliant writing. And them getting rid of most of the main cast for Season 4 is just icing on the cake. So long Cushings and Ironses, wish I never known ya.
I dont know if people have noticed how everytime something related to the inverse world happens, theres this theme song that plays a bit. It also plays when Bizzaro superman is revealed to be alive again in the tunnels.
This is literally how you make a doomsday take a kryptonian and kill it again and again and again until it’s completely invincible and truly unkillable
I don’t think it would work as Bizzaro was brought back to life by human means so what ever was used could be what’s needed for it to make a kryptonian into a hulk like monster.
I love how they done the montage to make this doomsday, a lot better than the Smallville one, I’m glad it’s just like a 5 minute scene rather than an entire season
Havent ever seen this show but honestly i didn't think I'd take a Negan style Lex Luther roasting a superman clone over and over again till he beefed up so seriously but damn. This makes more sense than the movie
