Hello Art Friends! Today I am testing out a new setup and sketchbook on my handmade watercolor easel. The easel was made from a 9x12 piece of foam core board that I scored in half so it would be able to open and fold. I wrapped the board with packing tape to make it waterproof.

The Cheap Joe's Artist Sketchers Strap is wrapped around the sketch board and holds my brushes in place. Clip on water containers are also known as solvent cups. You can find them on Amazon or any of the art stores. I have a bit of kitchen sponge for dabbing off excess water from my paint brush. The Etcher sketch book is 3.9 x 5.9 Cold Pressed 100% Cotton paper. I found it on Amazon. Clips hold my gear in place. This is a simple lightweight plein air setup that makes painting outdoors a lot easier. I hope you find this video useful. Please let me know what you think. Thanks for watching! Happy Painting!

Hi :) I always love you handmade easels! this is a great set up and beautiful paintings! I love the full sized pans, especially for the colors most used....so much easier to get a larger brush into or to really pack your brush with paint. I need to get that size one day. Hope you're doing well!!! :)

Thank you Jade! I like this setup too. It's nice having the painting set up at an angle where you can see it and not get a crick in your neck looking down. I like the full size pans too! It's a lot easier on your brushes, especially if you like using large brushes. I got these little Unfilled Whole and half pans at Cheap Joe's, along with some of the empty Nomad tin palettes to put them in. They also have magnetic strips that you can buy to put on them and hold them in place. It works really nice for making custom palettes. I like the magnets because you can change out your colors if you want. I always like trying new colors. I'm doing well, I hope you are too!
