There is no comparison in terms of how well the Go Draw palette is made as compared to the knock offs… the thickness of the wood and how the magnets hold are very superior in the Go Draw…also it is their design and others have just copied it :(
Yes, I agree. You are right, the others are just copy cats. But, at the time that I bought the other palette I was having trouble getting the Go Draw palette which was the one that I really wanted. I did this video to compare the two in case other people were having the same problem and needed an alternative tiny palette.
Excellent demonstration of actual plein air use of your setup. Too many show n tells are made indoors, and do not show how hard or easy it is to have everything at hand, laying in your lap or too large to hold in one hand without spilling your water container.
I have been busy making mini watercolour travel kits. My latest scheme is to use an empty pill container. The ones where you push the pill through the foil, in Australia anyway. Making lots of watercolour paper tiny books etc.. Having a lot of fun seeing what else I can use. ❤🇦🇺
I love your all of your videos! Have you tried cutting out a notch on either side of the fold, to use like a Stablo easel? You could also cut out a place to insert a collapsible cup.
Loved your presentation. Well laid out instructions and this idea is able to be scaled up or down depending on a person's circumstance. Thank you so much for posting.❤
💥 Another fantastic idea‼️ You have a natural ability to know if something is going to work or not, just by looking at it. Few people have that ability. - I’m that way myself, so I noticed it about you. It helps greatly in many situations. ▫️ I’ve just started watching your channel. It’s different… and interesting. ▫️ Thanks for the good idea. I’ll use it myself!
💥 SMART GIRL‼️ The board would be a bit more stable/secure, if you used the opposite side… (use the back of it as the front, with the scored/cut side up.) Turn the board upside down. - It’s just the dynamics of it. ▫️ But Dang! That’s brilliant‼️
I’ve been looking for the best way to swatch and this is the best I’ve seen. Thanks so much! Great info to include on the swatch cards. I’ll be following your instructions. Extremely helpful, thank you.
I LOVE YOUR VOICE !!!! It is so beautiful to listen to 🤍 I could listen to you all day!!! I recently got into watercolour painting and wanted to try these out! When you use the normal travel brushes how do you take water around with you?? Xx Love from England ❤
Hi from across the pond! Thank you so much! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed this video! And so glad you like my voice 🙂. I usually use the water brush because it is the most convenient. But if you watch one of my most recent videos I show how I attach a little mini mint tin with a magnetic clip to the sketchbook. You can fill one side with water to use with a normal travel brush.
Hi LaineyBug! I’m from Kentucky! But, we traveled around the country when I was young. I lived here and there growing up. I spent a little time in both Kansas and Oklahoma. Now I live in Virginia.
Hi Mrs. Sunshine!☀️ I’m so happy you liked my this story! You are right! I was trying to change it. And the more I tried, the more it got away from what I was trying to express. It didn’t dawn on me to try to restore it to its original state! If I never touched it I would have been proud to hang it on my wall. I’m going to have to get my oil paints out, brush off the dust and try to channel my inner Van Gogh! I don’t remember if I mentioned it in the video. But this painting was inspired by Van Gogh. I was trying to paint like the impressionists. With vivid colors and bold brush marks. This painting was about the feeling of the sun radiating and touching everything with light. Thank you for reminding that I can restore it, rather than change it!
Hi! I know they are costly for the tiny little palettes. I saw some similar ones on Amazon that are a lot cheaper. But, I don’t have one so I can’t tell if the quality is the same. I don’t think it would hurt to try one if the price is right.
@@kimberlyhyltonart I have been been watching your videos today while I'm sick I went to Dollar Tree thinking about your idea what the binder clip magnet and found some smaller ones at the Dollar Tree along with some decent brushes and they had these four pack of silver containers that you can easily take and put a sponge in there and you need to wipe your brush or just use it for a water reservoir and I believe I have some with the magnet already on the back of them that are sold just In one piece
Great comparison thank you, however I was very distracted by your jittery hands and words. If you continue perhaps have a light script or outline prepared, rehearse your movements and prepare you supplies? I’m certain your channel will grow if you simplify, the spastic hands was unnerving. Just a friendly tip!
I also have the Quiller colour wheel on my wall with a bunch of my swatches! This is a genius idea for paper - thanks for sharing. Those are called bulldog clips. The ones with the wires are fold-back clips.
@amooseish Yes, I think a Guitar pick works great for scraping! I discovered this tip myself. I think that it is smoother than a plastic card and is more gentle on your paper. 🙂
It doesn’t hold much paint. Only about a chocolate chip sized drop. But, it doesn’t take much paint when you’re working in a tiny sketchbook. I’m about halfway through my little sketchbook and I haven’t had to refill any paint. 🙂
Great video! I made a gouache pallet out of an old Dollar Tree LA Colors eyeshadow palette and it's pretty small too and now I'm able to take my gouache paint with me.
