Pierre TIANGE you're welcome, man! I was really desperate because the company that imports Line6 goods and its technical service are not famous for their quality! I thought I should help people. Unfortunately you're right, the project is silly since the connector is "upside down", prone to suffer from the vibrations we submit it. Thank YOU!
I ordered a used M9 from The Guitar Center and it came today! Plugged it in and none of the switches worked!! I upgraded the firmware twice and was about to give up and send it back. Then I found this video!!!! I took the bottom cover off and the plug you mentioned was completely unplugged! I plugged it in and it works! I found a piece of soft Styrofoam and put that on top to hold the cable in place. Thank you for posting this!!!
Really really glad it worked. A delightful unit totally ruined by some misconceptions. Show us a picture of the StyroCaul (tm). Soon you can sell them on eBay LOL.

Thank you so much, your video saved my life ! I bought this product second hand and the switches were note working at all. When I opened the pedalboard as showed in your video, the cable was totally disconnected !

I have an M5. I wasn't sure if my cable was a problem (constantly rebooting itself). I had a replacement made by Digi-Key. Along with a higher current power supply (2 amp max). Problem solved. Cost about $45 for the cable.

Excelente video! Tengo una M13 y estoy interesado en una modificacion de mejora de audio que hace JVH3. Creo que cambia algunos filtros por donda pasa el dry signal y cambiara algunos buffers. Dado que vivo en Veenzuela seria una locura enviar mi pesada unidada de M13 a USA. Me gustaria conseguir informacion sobre esta modificacion que hace JVH3 que por cierto creo ya no hace mas dichas modificaciones. Conoces algo al respecto?
No se si me leas, o bien si alguien le ha pasado algo igual le agradecería su ayuda. Tengo el mismo pedal, y de un dia para otro comenzó a dar problemas, no ha sido golpeado ni modificado. El problema es que cada botón al pulsarlo se activa pero no se vuelve a desactivar, y sin importar que tipo de efectos tenga, sea delay o un drive el pedal lo cambia al filter y todos lo botones ahora prenden las luz led rosa porque se colocaron en filter, eso pasa en todas las escenas, y otro de los problemas incluso es que la pantalla dejo de funcionar, no muestra imagen y tampoco prende su luz

Excelente video, afortunadamente no tengo ese problema, lo único que me pasa es que 1 switch no funciona. No tengo experiencia soldando pero quiero saber si el problema se puede reparar por mi cuenta cambiando el switch. Desafortunadamente he encontrado un poco de información en foros pero la mayoría son post del 2013 o antes y ya no cargan las fotos o links.
Entonces mi amigo. Mi switch número uno también tuvo problemas. A veces, la solución que presenté aquí soluciona esto, ya que puede ser un mal contacto inherente a la placa (main circuit board). Pero si lo abre con cuidado, verá cómo son los interruptores. Frágil. Aquí en Brasil, llamamos "teclas táctiles". Aunque es delicado, puede ser generoso con un chorro de spray WD40 (evite todas las otras partes con este líquido tanto como sea posible) y PRONTO. DESPUÉS, un chorro de limpiador de contacto o alcohol isopropílico. No tenga miedo porque si elimina los desechos del WD de esa manera, no habrá ningún problema. Mueva el botón vigorosamente algunas veces, apretando y girando (sí, girando, ya que hay un espacio en los mecanismos y el resorte). ¡Tengo el mío así!

yo tengo el Line6 M13 y no funciona la salida pero si conecto a Send funciona en bypass pero no dan los efectos si los activo ayuda ( you can translate please )
I also forgot to mention that the ribbon cable needs to be secured so it doesn't come off again. A few tack down's using super glue is fine b/c if it came off once it will do it again.
Hi Rafael! I am having some trouble with my M9 but it is different problem. May be you know how to fix it. The thing is that when I plug the cable on the OUTPUT L(MONO) to go to the amp, it sounds an annoying hum. But if I connect the cable on the OUTPUT R, there is no hum. This would be ok if I want to go mono, but it is a problem when I want to go stereo. I will be very thankful if you give it a try. Cool tutorial but seriously I couldn't give less about your opinion on line6 quality. Not a fanboy here; just a guy that seen worst stuff on more expensive stuff. You that company called boss? They use the same logic switches on there pedals.
MSTF you’re right about BOSS. But consider two things, please: 1. Take a moment and think how many Boss stuff is out there. And how many Line 6 units are out there too. Statistics say I should have fixed hundreds of Boss switches, right? Specially compared to the number of Line 6’s gear around... it didn’t and it doesn’t happen. I’ve seen LOT of Line 6 stuff broken. I’ve seen only a few Boss devices broken. 2. Several companies using cheap or crappy components do not legitimate these very components as if they were good. You’re right, many companies, some much more expensive ones, show design flaws or poor parts... It doesn’t mean they should. Thanks a lot for you comment, man!
