Six is an excellent portrayal of a morally grey character and it honestly didn’t surprise me when she dropped Mono. In Six’s viewpoint anything that threatens her chance of survival, is immediately a dangerous risk. We can even see how during the game Six was pretty reluctant to go along with Mono in the first place, plus they really didn’t know each other that long to be honest.

I like how they changed "Every Nightmare has an end" to "Some Nightmares never end". Just the attention to detail in the Lyrics from JT is something I really like about their Songs.

"I find that I'm hungry for more." Like an actual sequel.

"It was only in my shadow That I'd finally found a friend" After a ending, this hit hard.

Whoever wrote these lyrics is an actual genius, every verse of this song could be used as a poem.

Six is such an amazingly written character without uttering a single word in 3 games. She cares for Mono sure, but she goes along with him for 2 reasons, because she feels she’s been tied to him and is being strung along, but also knows she has to in order to prolong her survival. Such a great dual purpose. She obviously feels some sort of sadness in dropping him because she hesitates. But she has to because she sees the tall man in him, and assumes saving him will doom her. It makes her seem so much more human, making a horrible mistake because her young mind is concerned for herself.

The line "Pretend you're a mouse in a house full of cats" is a really accurate summary for this series

I love how Mono isn’t portrayed as innocent in this rap. Like, it’s saying he too sees the world as a dark place and may even have dark intentions. But those intentions aren’t to betray his friends/the people who are like him.

Interesting that when Six says "When the devil grabbed my hand" it cuts to Mono holding her hand

The way that Six finishes the song by herself cause she's all on her own once again. That's chilling, knowing what she just did.

Mono speaks so affectionately of Six in this like: we’re a force to be reckoned with. While Six only sees him as a tool, something to help her along the way that she can discard but she’s also kind of bitter about it like: I’m a force to be reckoned with and It’s a tragedy.

You know, I'm surprised how many people don't realize how the time loop broke. The Thin Man hung himself. You can literally see his legs hanging from the ceiling and his chair near the beginning of the first Little Nightmares. Also: Six wakes up in LN in the same suitcase that Mono finds him at when Six is a monster. It's the same place, just Mono realized (I assume through the shadows) that he was repeating history and decided to end it.

I get it: "It was only in my shadow that I'd finally found a friend...": Six hid behind Mono, followed him like a shadow and as dark as one. "...till the light that bound us let go and the devil took my hand.": The end, where Six had let go of Mono and she got occupied with evil instead of a friend. "As she closes my eyes, remind me once again.": Here comes Mono's part, "she" is Six, Six closed his eyes to a long nightmare. "What's the dreamer's lie 'Every nightmare has an end.'.": Mono's long nightmare will never end.

There are three things you can always expect from JT: clever lyrics, a stellar instrumental accompaniment, and chilling choruses. This masterpiece rolled a nat 20 on all three.

Mono's "the hunt has begun, hold on to your hats" sounds like he's thinks of this like a thrill ride.

"It was only in my shadow, that I’d finally found a friend" I feel like this has a duel meaning, Mono meeting Six in the shadows, and Six seeing Shadow Six as her only friend, that she can only trust herself.

If anyone is still confused by the end, a popular theory is that 6 lost her soul after she became a monster and when she turned back to normal she still didn't have a soul and dropped Mono, and it is a time loop causing Mono to become the Thin man, it is also theorized that the time loop started because of the eye monster.

My interpretation is Mono found Six when she was 'in the darkness', or 'in her shadow'. She did think he was a sort of friend but didn't fully understand what he wanted. All he wanted was to be happy and not alone. This finally brings the meaning to his name. 'Mono' means 'one'. And in the game, the character named Mono is always destined to be betrayed and alone. Six eventually lost trust for him overtime. In the end, when she drops him, she took a second to think about if having a friend is even worth her time. While trapped in the several situations she was in, she finally remembered what it was like to be alone and preferred it over any 'friend'. The only companion she has is herself. She lost that initial spark and went insane from it. "Some nightmares never end" - The loop of the Thin Man will always continue. Mono will always be only one. Final thoughts: This is one of the darkest games I've ever seen, with one of the most depressing endings I've ever seen.

Andrea's voice is absolutely incredible. This song still gives me chills from the very first beat.

3:35 "it was only in my shadow that i'd finally found a friend" It's really sad because six wasn't always like this, she used to be like Mono. She was kind, selfless and she didn't want to be alone just like Mono. In very little nightmares Six tried to save the raincoat girl, even though the raincoat girl left six for dead, but six didn't want to be alone so she tried to save the raincoat girl from the pretender. Six has been through alot and In the end she realized that it's best to be alone and look out for herself, just like Mono in the end of LN2. Six now has shadow six and Mono has the tower, they have become dark and twisted version of themselves and no trace left of the kind and selfless kids they once were, the world is so cruel.

Ok, but can we talk about THE LYRICS?? An absolute masterpiece, it's actually poetry in motion. The lyrical flow is so good, it's this one long, flowing, and mesmerizing verses! You really outdid yourself in this one, well done!

I waited 3 years for this song. Worth it

I entered this fandom just about a month ago, and I wish I'd known sooner. I played the first one at my friends house yesterday, and it was awesome. I want to be able to play this the next few times I go over. This entire story is one of the few with sad endings that I can actually handle, despite it being so cruel. I've been watching a few gameplays as well, with and without commentary. These games are one of my favorites, I'm not a big fan of horror because of the jump scares, but the story is more scary than all the dying you do and when you get chased. That's something that isn't easily done. They barely talk to eachother, and yet all of their interactions just send a chill down my spine. I love stories that don't rely on a bunch of jump scares to add to the horror. I know they probably won't make a third game, but I think that's ok. I, at least personally, don't WANT a happy ending. Because that would ruin the story telling, and the story seems pretty well done. Sure, maybe we can see what happens to six and mono after the first and second game's ending, and have them escape and reunite and stuff, but I like the way it is. Don't get me wrong, I definitely would prefer a happy ending for these two, but I feel like that would ruin the story. Everyone there is a monster in some way, shape, or form. These two have finally been consumed by it, after fighting so long. But hey, that's just me. Sorry for this rant, this is just one of my favorite games I've ever discovered, and the lighting, the sound effects, visuals, story, character, all of it is amazing. Edit: ignore what I said about me not really wanting another game. Yeah no, screw that. I want another game. Like I said when I made this comment, I was new to these games. Now that I'm a bit more educated on the story (I don't think I can call reading the issues, watching gameplays of each four games twice, and watching as many theory videos as I could, can be considered a "bit", but eh) I really want to know what's going on. Why is this happening? We all can tell that this world had SOME normalcy, considering it has things that The viewers and other things don't even glance at. But what caused it? And what started the "loop"? And like really, WHO IS SIX??? We've had 4 games that all somehow end up in Six's story, with Secrets of The Maw being about the nome she ate, LN she was the protagonist, LN2 she was also there, and Very Little Nightmares she was also there, yet we still don't have a full picture on who, and WHAT Six is. Yes, I want an answer to Mono and where he came from, I definitely need that, but it's worse considering Six has really been in everything, yet we can't even answer obvious questions. I seriously need more answers on Six, RG, RK, Mono, and this messed up world they live in.

does anyone else wish that at the end of the game when you see mono become the thin man and it closes the door and starts zooming out that you would just see mono jumping towards the door just to symbolize that the thin man and mono are in a continuous time loop because believe it or not some people still didn't realize that it was a time loop at the end of the game

What make this game even more sad is that, it's not just there's no happy ending. There is no ending at all. They're all doomed to repeat everything. God I want a third game... I just noticed that in the lines "I stick to the shadows untrusting of light" I realize that Six is trusting her shadow self more than mono, as we see his powers controlling TVs to produce light, while her own power is a darkness

🚫SPOILERS, maybe🚫 Did anyone else notice this? During the last line of the song which is "Some nightmares never end." It showed Mono waking up in the forest next to a TV, which is how the game starts. That was representing Mono reliving the whole game again because at the end, Six betrayed him and he grew up to be the Thin Man behind the door in the corridor. Meaning that the whole game is a repeated cycle of Mono going on this adventure with Six through this terrifying world only to be betrayed by her again. The nightmare would never end.

Honestly, this is quite possibly the song that sounds the most like an exquisite poem brought to life, the lyrics are so good.

everyone's going off abt how six sees mono as a tool in the way andrea's parts are done, but also ignoring the lines "like a puppet, tied and hung up // tightly bound // your strings I've been strung to // I dream that I'd run away from you // if my feet could feel the ground" implying she sees him less as a tool to use, and more as a captor that keeps her with him because he's afraid of being alone, going as far as to consciously hurt her for what he thinks is best in the end

Interesting how Six sees mono as dangerous and more of a captor. She feels like she’s just been strung along on this journey and at the end, she thinks that it’ll just be easier without him. She chose to stay with him the entire time, but at the end decided to make her way without him, possibly growing concerned about the static stuff and the possibility that he might become the thin man. She clearly cared about him, but also never saw them as friends. Mono however, thinks he’s helping six and follows her because he sees a chance to not be alone. He also cares deeply about her, and sees her as a companion, going out of his way to rescue her(which I believe was a combination of not wanting to be alone and caring about her). In the end she was made into a monster by the tower, so he was trying to save her. Both of them simply have different perspectives, and since they barely talk, they don’t get to truly understand one another. However that doesn’t mean Six dropping Mono was justified. You can understand her motivations, but it was still wrong and horrible thing to do to him. Édit: This is just my interpretation of the song, my thoughts on the game are in the replies

I believe that in the lines, "how blinding the glare, your mind is so weak", it's six warning mono about the signal tower while also worrying that it will overpower him, and in the line, "I'd like you to share your nightmare with me" it's six pleading with mono to tell her what he keeps seeing when he goes into the TV's but he doesn't listen to her.
